I was lookin at a kinda old video on Kh-videos and Cid sound like a country hick when he said, "Just like the old days." Sounded so weird. Oh ya and Axel's voice rocks!!!

Um...I don't think I saw that cutscene. I have the game on HDLoader; I can't get past Twilight Town because it locks up when loading the first Gummi Ship sequence, so I can't help you there. Then again, maybe I did see it... what do you mean by "DWU"?

In reference to your questions... I studied Japanese for 4 years in college and picked up a minor. I don't consider myself fluent and even in KH2 some of the kanji made it difficult, but I got "the gist" of most of the cutscenes fairly easily. The fact my roomie was making me translate at the same time as I was trying to watch them didn't help either.

The way I understand it, no game begins the localization process until its domestic release (in Japan), at least that's what I've deduced from interviews I've read over the years. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, I'm sure there are plenty of people with some experience in both languages that SE could hire to help out with this sort of thing.... :)

EDIT:

Fred - you mean Cid's voice gets WORSE? I, too, winced when I heard the cowboy-esque "Jes't liike the ol' days". I remember him having a really good voice in KH1...what happened? >.<

not sure. and maverick gave us a list of options on how he got the game. they were all ridiculous like
A.) aliens gave it to me
B.) i killed nomura and got it
C.) he dropped it off at my house

but one of the most reasonable said D.) i have connections


that's soo kool you know japanese, shiro :D

so obviously he has connections with SE and that's how he got the game

connections could also be a friend who works at a gamestore which received it early, and he decided to "borrow" it...

^^^ is very plausable... as kh2 is probably in your gamestops and EB's backrooms/storerooms RIGHT NOW!

P.S. doesnt my name look SO much better in dark red?

What...? He's VA in KH2 is the same as his FFAC VA... Also there is no footage of FFAC in English.

Hello all.

I'm brand new here, but I've been following the tremendous amount of posts over the last few days regarding the videos from the NA version which have been going up on YouTube. Thanks a lot, Maverick22, for showing us what we have to look forward to in the American version of KHII. Now please, please forgive me if this has already been answered, but I recall there being a post describing some concern about the legal ramifications of posting the intro or ending movies of the game...

Now, I'm no lawyer (though I do currently work for a large software corporation, and wrote game reviews in the past for a website), and I could be completely mistaken, but wouldn't posting spoilers from late in the game, and obviously the end of the game, cause Square more angst than the intro? Now I'm not one of these OMGPOSTTHEINTRO!!!11!!! guys, but I would like to know the reasoning why it's not being loaded (again, forgive me if this has already been answered). I'm fairly sure if there is concern about a video of the opening causing problems, a blank screen with the song playing in the background would probably satisfy all the fans just as much. I wouldn't be surprised if Square's legal department is dense enough to truly believe that most people who have wanted to see the intro haven't already seen it (from the Japanese version) and heard several different versions of Passion, as well.

Is Square worried about losing sales from people hearing Sanctuary? I'd find that thought unusual to say the least.

Mav, I know you're probably a busy guy and you've got a lot more to do than just post videos. Thanks a bunch for revealing lots about the game, and if you can't post the intro for whatever reason, that's your call. Just know that there are a lot of us out there who can't wait to hear what it sounds like in English, and that an official post on the reasoning for why it will/won't be posted would cause a lot of the discussion to stop... so anyways, thanks again Mav. 12 MORE DAYS!

Please tell me they didn't give Cid a southern accent....

Actually its something along those lines. I received an E-mail from a person working at S-E and he wasnt rude or anything. He never mention anything about legal action or anything. And never said 'stop revealing thing' or asked on how I obtained the copy. He used the word 'lucky' and stuff but mentioned that the head of SE would appreciate if I didnt leak/release the intro and the ending. Never said anything about any other othe cutscenes, gameplay.
They said that Utada and SE wanted all their fans to wait for the game to surprise everyone with 'Sanctuary' and I dont know why they mention the ending since Its been out already...
Though I cant confirm if the person does or does not work for SE.



And InnerFred.. Im guessing Kyle/Deathspank has shown you the vids.

Actually just told me.

About the ending, my guess is because that also has Sanctuary playing on it.
