kind of both. in days ultimania sai when the memories that made xion were going inside roxas, it awakened "something" inside him to cause him to dual wield. he's wielding both ven and sora's keyblade. Xion's was a fake keyblade with real abilities somehow

Because he isn't a replica like XIon, he's a nobody, which grants him to sora's keyblade no matter what.

because sora was a heartlesss for a very short ammount of time, so the emory transfer wasn't complete. though i'm more inclined to believe that roxas didn't get any at all because sora turned humanoid form and therefore the somebody is the one who regains it all back.

Yeah, he is having memories from his past..Some of it from MX, and some of it from Terra, and probably Eraqus.

The memories didn't go inside of Roxas. Roxas wanting to remember Xion is what awoke the Keyblade.

Because Sora's time as a Heartless was too short.

It is. Basically, any truly emotional moment could have awakened the Keyblade in Ven, it just so happened that, this time, the emotional moment was Xion's death. It wasn't because Xion was absorbed by Roxas or anything like that (she says herself she is going back to Sora and we don't even see Roxas "absorbing" her at all).
