Agreed. It's actually despicable how many errors were made in translating. It's like not loving your fans for some reason.

I think the main issue was that they tried to get a game like KH2 out in as short of time as possible. They were able to do it in 3 months or so. So, I think it was that tight deadline that caused many things to go overlooked.

How is Nomura stating that Unversed can be seen as a sort of starting point for the Heartless a misinterpretation by the fans? Plus, the pre-BBS games were definitely setting Xehanort as the Heartless' creator, with the only thing to the contrary being Leon's baseless claim of Heartless always existing. It wasn't until BBS that there was anything actually suggesting that Heartless had existed since darkness. Also, on another, but related, note, the concept of the Unversed, before the game was released, is different from the end result, them being a starting point for Heartless one example and being "the opposite of life" another.

But umm....the Ansem Reports in KH note that Ansem found a Heartless before he started actually experimenting and creating them, so......we've known that Heartless existed before his meddling. =/

It seemed to me like Minnie didn't actually banish Pete. She just put him in prison. I'm thinking maybe theres some more unseen story to it where he came back and abused his powers given to him by Maleficent and that's when Mickey banished him.

Only purebloods exist at the time of BBS. Purebloods have exist ever since the keyblade war happened and people had their hearts consumed by darkness. However purebloods only exist in the realm of darkness, normally only coming into the light realm when summoned. MX summoned neo shadows from the dark realm to attack Ven.

It was not until the heartless experiments that emblem heartless were formed and heartless became mass produced. As for Nobodies, well they most likely did not exist in BBS and came about only after the heartless experiments.

no, he didn't lie. what he said was that heartless are rare, or they weren't introuduced into the worlds, so they couldnt be the main enemy (or something along those lines).... heartless existed, but only in the dark realm, and they were only pure-bread heartless, not emblem. but, when ven was fighting them, it was because master xehanort brought them from the dark realm into their own realm. so no, he didnt lie

Then, why didn't he tell them that Roxas was upset at why the Keyblade chose Sora, and let them to decided it was a mysterious male person instead? People make mistakes... especially when it comes to Japanese and pronouns. In those cases it's not really a mistake. More like picking a viable option that turns out to not be true later on.

I recall someone here after that scene came out in the Japanese version was so unbelievably pissed off and claimed he lied that they wanted to start a class action lawsuit and sue Nomura for lying. Granted, it could have simply been a deliberate overreaction for laughs, but I found it amusing.
