Hey there mortals. This is one of many fan-fics I'm currently writing, and is probably the one I shall lavish with the most attention.
So, I guess I'd best just get on with it now.

"There were less than that... Less than last time..."
"Stop messing about and tell us what you saw!"
"I saw... Just shadows... Seven shadows..."

----------------------------------

Kumo stood in front of his father's grave, reminiscing about when he was still alive. It was raining, just liked it always seemed to do on the anniversary of his death.
"Father... I'm sorry."
Kumo slowly walked away from the grave, trying to cheer himself up as he did.

Kumo lived on the beautiful Destiny Islands, and his best friends were called Sora, Riku, and Kairi. They always played on a small island across from the main one, where all three of them lived. There was one time, around a year ago, when all the other three vanished.
All Kumo can remember about this time is running. Running from a group of people, and somehow he managed to escape them. After this, he came back to the islands just as Kairi did, but Sora & Riku never returned until ages later...

As he got over the ocean, he realised that only Sora was there. Kumo got off his boat and ran over to him.
"Hiya!"
"Oh, hi Kumo!" Sora replied, looking happy to see him. "Where are the others?"
"I'm not sure, but I think they may be coming here soon," Kumo answered, remembering when he saw them on the way here.
Kumo and Sora simply played while waiting for Riku and Kairi, who soon arrived as well.

"Hi guys!" Kumo shouted, waving at them.
"Hi!"
“Hey there, Kumo.”
Both Kairi and Riku replied, waving back to the smiling Kumo. They then played for a short while, but their fun was destined to end soon…

As they all lay on the beach, Kairi turned to the others and said, “Do you think we’ll be able to be friends without something like… Last time happening?”
Kumo looked up to the sky and remembered that long he’d spent when he was separated from the others, just running and running. He had no recollection of whom it was he was trying to escape from, but the one time he did make a stand it didn’t turn out too well. Kumo had nearly been killed, but a stranger saved had saved his life.
After that, he asked who the person was, only to be told to try and find his way back to the Destiny Islands...

"Hey, Kumo! Snap out of it!"
Kumo shook his head from side to side, looking up to see the others staring worriedly at him.
"Uhh... What just happened?" Kumo asked, just before it happened. The ground began to violently shake, and all four of them got up and looked over towards the main island. It simply disappeared into darkness, and this soon approached the small island they were on.

"Oh no, please don't say it's happening again!" Kumo thought to himself, but that was when something odd happened. Instead of being split from the others, like last time, he could still see them while the ground shook even more and the island they were on eventually got surrounded by darkness.
Kumo fell to the ground, and when he looked up he saw two yellow eyes staring back. These eyes were attached to a pitch black, strange looking creature with attenae protruding from it's head. It lunged for him, and the only thing Kumo could think of doing is raising his arms in defense.

That's when Kumo saw a bright light fly past, and Kumo was shocked as the creature vanished. When all the darkness from the disintegrating creature had vanished, Kumo looked forward to see his saviour: it was Sora, holding a large, silver key in his hand.
He turned to Kumo and shouted "Look out!", and Kumo turned to see a few more creatures appear behind him. He jumped out of the way as Sora vanquished them, and then asked what was going on.
"I don't know, but for some reason," Sora said, destroying more of the creatures as he spoke. "For some reason, my Keyblade has come back to me!"

Kumo then remembered Sora telling him about a strange weaon that had appeared to him when the islands were destroyed last time, a weapon called the Keyblade. Before he could remember anymore however, another creature appeared and pounced for Kumo. There was another bright light, but this time it wasn't from the Keyblade...

Kumo opened his eyes and looked around. there was nobody here except for him, and he soon realised he was stood on top of something.
After his eyes adjusted properly, he could see where he was. There was a huge pillar beneath him, connected to a few others via some stairs. There was only darkness besides that. Kumo decided to see what was on the other four pillars, and wlaked towards them all. An omnipotenet voice soon spoke, however.
"Choose only one... For the wrong ones shall lead to your destruction..." Kumo looked at them all, and then decided to go up the second one from the left. He walked up the stairs as all the others vanished, believing he had chosen the right one.
When he reached the top, though, there were even more of those creatures. Kumo stared bravely at them this time, however, and something shocking soon happened.
There was a third bright light, this time in his hand.
Kumo shielded his eyes, only to have look back when the light had surpassed.
Kumo couldn't believe what he saw, because of what it was...

A Keyblade...

So, I hope you liked it!
All criticism is appreciated, but no insulting my work too much please!

I'm going to go work on Chapter 2 now, as I'm hoping to get some proper action into it!

This sounds pretty interesting! I'm gonna stick around and read it! Congradulations! You have a new fan/reader!

I do have a question though. When does this take place? Like, how many years after KH1, KH2, ect. If you said it in the chapter I must have missed it, sorry...

Holy fanfics, readers!
Thanks for reading people!

Oh, and KH_Fanatic: I'm thinking of it being set maybe just a few months or so after the end of KH2, pretty close to when they all returned to the Destiny Islands.

Well, I guess I'd best get started on my next chapter! Thanks again!

Thanks!
As I said above, I'm hoping to have more action in it, and I'll probably also try and get them in a different world, possibly Radiant Garden.

Cool :)

Oh no, I just realized that I used the name Hollow Bastion instead of Radiant Garden in my FF! I gotta go fix it!

Hey peeps.
Now that this thing's gotten some readers (thanks to you all, by the way!), I guess it's only fair I add in another chapter for y'all to read.
So... I guess I should get on with the show then!

We last left Kumo in a mysterious place, after his world was destroyed by strange creatures of darkness.
He thought he was going to be killed by them, but that's when his only hope for life came along.
The Keyblade.

----------------------------------

As Kumo stared at the Keyblade which had just materialised in his hand, one of the shadowy creatures in front of him dived towards him. Kumo only had basic fighting skills where he had play-fights with his friends, but luckily enough these basic skills were with swords.
“This Keyblade thing…” Kumo thought to himself, “It’s just a differently shaped sword!”

As the creature got closer, he swung the weapon at it, making contact as it dispersed into nothingness. Kumo then gained the final speck of confidence he needed to start swinging at the small band of creatures that had gathered, slicing away at them as he walked towards a new set of stairs that had appeared.
When he had vanquished all of these foes, he ascended the new set, which led to yet another pillar. But this one was empty, except for one picture in the middle: a picture of Sora lying down with his eyes closed, as if he were asleep.

There were smaller circles around this large picture, two of them with a picture of either Riku or Kairi in. There were portraits of somebody in the other two circles, and Kumo recognised these from the tales Sora had told him.
“Their names… Weren’t they Donald & Goofy?” Kumo thought to himself, but that’s when another bright light appeared on an empty circle at the rim of the pillar. As this one disappeared, a door appeared in its place.

As Kumo walked towards the door, a voice suddenly emerged from what seemed to be nowhere.
“Beware… You may have the Keyblade…” the voice whispered in his head. “But that alone doesn’t make you invincible…”
Kumo looked down to what he held in his hand, and was about to ask what the enigmatic voice meant by this, but it spoke once more.
“Beyond this door is a new world… A new world you may not be prepared for…” it said, and Kumo looked up to the door, startled. As a kid, he and his friends had all wondered what other worlds were like.
Sora and the others had told him, but he never expected to get the chance to see one other than the seemingly eternal, crushing darkness from before.

“So…” the voice murmured. “Do you believe you’re ready? Or do you wish to join your world in darkness once more?”
When Kumo heard this last bit, he didn’t need to think at all. Almost instantly, he answered.
“I’m more than ready,” he responded, clutching the Keyblade hardly.
The voice seemed to laugh a little, and then spoke for the last time, simply saying two words: “Farewell then.”

The door then swung open, and Kumo was fully engulfed in light. He shielded his eyes, grasping the Keyblade even harder than before in preparation for any further conflict.
However, what he saw when the light scattered he wasn’t at all ready for. Kumo appeared in what looked like a kind of market-place, but these creatures were everywhere. But that wasn’t all.

From what he gathered, there were people fighting these things. And they knew what they were doing. Then one of them saw that Kumo had appeared, and shouted to him, their hair in the way of their face.
“Hey, kid! You need to get out of he-” they were shouting, but then they caught sight of his Keyblade. “Oh, I see now. Sora said you may appear.”
Kumo gasped at the very fact he knew who Sora was. He may have not been so surprised if Sora hadn't have told him of his adventures.
"Wait, so Sora's here?!?" he asked excitedly, to which the young man replied with a nod. This personthen pointed to a set of stairs leading deeper into the town, and told Kumo that's where he'd gone.
"Thanks, err... Sorry, what was your name?" Kumo asked.
The person then moved the hair out of the way, and their face was visible.

This person was in their late teens to their early 20's, and had a highly visible scar across their face. They had straight, shoulder-length brown hair and blue eyes.
The weapon they carried looked like a gun-sword hybrid, and was rather long.
"Name's Leon, nice to meet you Kumo." He then saw a look of confusion across Kumo's face, so Leon added "Sora told me."

Kumo realised that the deeper into this town he got, the deeper into battle he got. He must have killed about fifteen of these things on the staircase alone, and there was even further to go.
Leon had told him to get into the house that had a barrier around, but he'd never told him that he may not even live to get that far!
"God, if this is what Sora and the others went through, I should count myself lucky!" Kumo thought, commenting on how the darkness was a piece of cake compared to this.

As he ran around a corner, he felt himself fill with hope: he saw a rather old looking building opposite, with a glowing shield of energy around it. He then saw these creatures trying to get in, only to be restricted entry when they hit the barricade.
However, as Kumo ran to safety, a extra-sized version of one of these creatures knocked Kumo to the ground. Kumo looked up to see only this thing standing above him, but as it went to deliver the final blow a sword flew in the way of its fist.

The holder of this sword was a young man, around the same age as Leon. However, he had extremely spiky blond hair, and his sword was different as well: it was a lot, LOT thicker, and had bandages wrapped around it.

"Get in the house, quickly!" he shouted to Kumo, who could hear the authority in his voice almost commanding him to. Kumo listened to what he said, and ran through the shield of light into the crotchety, old building.

Yes, I know it's a tad longer than last time, but I needed to fit all the stuff in...
Also, most of the chapters are gonna be like this now, I've had a revelation in chapter size. XD

Anyways, hope you enjoyed it! Creative crticism will be accepted greatly!

I don't really like God's name being used in vain. If that continues, I gotta leave, sorry.

The rest of the chapter was great though!

Ok, thanks for understanding! If you try and avoid it I'll stick around :)

You're welcome, as I said I'll try and avoid that.

Oh, and to everyone else: if you ever encounter anything in the chapters that offends you at all, then just say and I'll adjust it accordingly.

Gah, sorry for such the long wait guys!
I've been real busy, and ahrdly had an oppurtunity for a real chapter to be put up.

But now I'm out of school for 8 weeks, so I'll have plenty o' time!! ^_^
And another note: Each chapter's getting it's own title from now on.

Kumo has managed to evade being killed before his adventure's even started, and is now safe from the possibly thousands of Heartless outside.
And now he's wants answers.
But first, he needs questions...

----------------------------------
Answers Needing Questions

Kumo ran into the house, and slammed the door shut behind him. He slumped down to the floor, and was breathing so heavily he could almost hear his heartbeat.
The floor he was sitting on was wooden, and the planks were rigid and splintery. He looked to his left, and saw piles of books scattered around. He looked in front of him and saw a large machine taking up most of the room, with a blond-haired man sitting in front of it.

As Kumo rose from the ground and walked away from the door, it swung open and was slam shut almost as quickly. It was the guy who saved him from the fat Heartless earlier on, the one with the bandaged sword. He looked exhausted, and sweat was dripping from his brow.
"Whew, that was too much..." he uttered, and then noticed Kumo staring at him, so he straightened up. "And you must be... Kumo, right?"
"Don't tell me, Sora told you?" Kumo asked, to which the guy replied with a nod. "And you're name is...?"
"Cloud Strife, nice to meet you," he answered, as he held out his hand. Kumo then grasped it and shook.
The man at the computer then turned around, and spoke for the first time.
"Wow, you actually said that?" he said to Cloud with a mocking tone.
"Shut up, Cid," Cloud replied with an angry look on his face.

All of a sudden, it seemed a lot more quiet. Kumo, Cloud and Cid all looked at each other, and then turned to the door. Cloud very silently walked over to the door, and pushed it open. That's when they all saw an amazing sight.
All of the Heartless that had been fighting their allies were stading almost perfectly still, and looking in the same direction. Cloud then turned to Cid.
He asked him, "What d'ya reckon their doing, then?"
"I don't know, but they may be goin' back tah to that castle that used tah be Maleficent's."
"No... They can't be... They're looking up."

Kumo then realised Cloud was right. All of the Heartless were staring up to the sky. And then they began to disappear, one by one, into darkness. Eventually, as if they were never there, they had all gone. That's when Leon came turned the corner, with Yuffie beside him.
"That... That was strange," Leon commented about the Heartless' disapperance, as he entered the house.
"I know, I don't think I've ever seen anything like that before," Yuffie added, as the others nodded in agreement.

A few hours had passed, and their group had gotten larger. Sora, Riku and Kairi had all eventually arrived, along with another young girl named Aerith. The owner of the house they were in, Merlin, had also arrived.
"So... Would you guys like to fill me in on what's going on then?" Kumo asked them, and they complied. It took over an hour, but they all eventually told Kumo on Sora's adventure that had taken place.
"Wow, that was... Confusing, to say the least. But I still have a few questions," Kumo said.
"Go right ahead!" Sora exclaimed cheerfully. He was overjoyed to see his friend hadn't suffered the same fate as his world this time.
"Firstly, how the fudge did you just randomly wake up in a pod?" Kumo asked.
"That? I don't know myself..." Sora answered. His head then began to ache, and he put his hand to it.
"Secondly, why were they called Organization XIII, when they had only seven members, including that Roxas guy?" Kumo was getting slightly angry now.
"I... I don't..." Sora's head really started to throb, and he was holding it with both hands.
"And thirdly!" Kumo shouted, as he stood up. "What is with that giant blank in your memory?!?"
Suddenly, Sora fell to the floor, clutching his head and screaming.

Inside his head, Sora was confused beyond belief. He couldn't hear what was going on outside, but in his head words were flying everywhere. Sora could hear talking, shouting, crying, and all other manners of noises.
"Disappoint you?"
"I'm not going to break the toy, Axel."
""I'm me," he says. It must be nice being real."
"You presume too much, Number 11!"
"I don't break toys."
"A fake like me could never get away with saying that."
"I am Number 4, and I won't stand for your snide remarks!"
"I just play with them."
"That's right, I'm a phoney! The way I look, the way I feel- everything!"

"Sora, wake up!"
Sora shot up, and looked around. Everybody was surrounding him, and they had worried looks on their faces.
"What's the matter?" Sora asked, enquiring what the look was for.
"You just sort of... Fainted," Riku replied. He was clearly most worried.
"I wonder why- Ah!" Sora's head was still a little achy.
"Everybody just needs to get some sleep, it's getting late," Aerith said, and everyone seemed to agree.

Everyone, that is, but Riku.
It had gone far past midnight, but still he paced back and forth outside Merlin's house. The only sounds were the odd self defence mechanism ball flying past.
That's when Kairi came out of the house to see where he was.
"You'd better come in, it's cold out here," she said to Riku, hoping he'd comply.
"I can't sleep."
Kairi sighed. "Is this to do with what Sora said, at all?"
"Yes, it's everything to do with that," Riku replied, with another worried look on his face.
"Look, don't worry about it! I'm sure he was just rambling! Now, come in whenever you want," Kairi spoke those last words as she walked back into the house.

Riku looked back down to the floor. It was lucky he was this brave, otherwise he'd be in there with them.
"Sora... Why did he have to faint? Why did he have to say his name?" Riku asked himself, as he walked back into the house.

----------------------------------

What we're those words Sora heard?
And what of the words he himself spoke?
And why did Riku worry so?
Find out soon...

Well, I hope you enjoyed it! This took a LOT of time out of my day, so it better be good!
Thanks for reading!
