Genre: Progressive Metal/Technical Metal
Formed: 2005

Periphery are known for being one of the first bands to popularize the "djent" guitar tone and for their brilliant songwriting and instrument playing skills. I've been listening to their first album nonstop for the past few months.

Discuss.

Edit: Here are some songs by the band and also a few from Misha Mansoor's solo project Bulb.
(For those who don't know Misha's one of the guitarists and the one who started the band)

It makes me feel bad when I say that I enjoy their cover of "One" more than their original work. I hate Spencer when he screams; his singing voice is so much better.

But "Jetpacks Was Yes!" and "Racecar" are pretty awesome.

I had no idea the covered One. I must check this out.

But yeah Racecar is amazing. All New Materials and Frak the Gods are pretty great as well.

Edit: Yeah that One cover is awesome.

I personally think Spencer's voice really suits Periphery's tone, and enjoy both his clean vocals and screams.

With that aside. . . fuck yeah, Periphery. One of my favourite albums in the djent category. I'd say All New Materials is my favourite song, simply because of dat chorus.

The last part of All New Materials is amazing.

Some guy put Misha's solo music with Paramore's vocals. It works surprisingly well.

I know it's not Periphery, but still...

Edited the first post with some tracks from the band and Bulb.
I'll add more later.

Edit: They've rerecorded Absolomb with vocals for the new album. YES.
