Sorry for the double post. I'm just hoping to get you guys talking again
But anyway... one thing I hope this movie does well is having Madoka and Homura being able to communicate.
I don't want Homura to be completely evil now (as she was acting at the end of the movie, but if they keep that up too much--and don't explain it--it's just going to make it seem like they replaced the Homura we know with someone else entirely), and when Madoka reveals that Homura misunderstood what she said in the flower field scene, I want her to be shocked by it and to (at least) consider letting Madoka go then.
Nothing like, "Mwahahaha. I'd actually guessed that, but I'm going to keep you here against your will, anyway!" The moment Homura learns that Madoka isn't happy, she should at least begin looking into that side of things, because nothing matters more to Homura than Madoka's happiness. Despite all she's done, she does truly want Madoka to be happy in the way that she herself wants to be happy in.
I also want her to
explain that she did a lot of what she did because A) she thought Madoka wasn't happy as a goddess, and B) because she thought Kyubey had found away to eventually conquer the Law of Cycles, kidnap Madoka, and force her to bring the Witch system back. I don't want Madoka thinking that Homura betrayed her just to betray her, but to have the full story.
And even though I WANT Madoka's world to come back, and for her to be the one to win in the end--especially because if this movie ends up even more erasing her sense of agency, I'll be really pissed off--I want to know the good and bad things of each world (and to actually see more of Madoka's world in general, because so far we've been gypped with that). There
were bad things in Madoka's world, just like there are in Homura's, like how Homura was left alone--the only one in that world to remember the Witch system--which led to her sanity being questioned.
Also how Homura probably doesn't even know which version of Madoka to listen to! As Madoka from timeline three, who said, "Go back and stop me from getting tricked. Don't let Kyubey fool me again," is obviously very different from the Madoka we saw at the end of the anime, who had a full understanding of everything.
I'm also... really hoping that this next thing is more straight-forward, doesn't expect you to take in and analyze a million things at once (while everything keeps getting turned on its head), or for you to have intimate knowledge about the side material (like info on the witch Charlotte, for example). I really don't think a movie is enough time to cover all that needs to be covered (I kind of even feel the same way about Rebellion...), so I think a season two would be the best decision for this.
And last but not least, I want this to be the last thing with these five girls. I love them to death, but just give them their ending and some closure, please. Allow them to have one last hurrah, and then to ride off into the sunset.
Taochan was saying this earlier, and I completely agree with it: I want the Madoka series to continue with other girls (Kazumi Magica, Suzune Magica, or maybe even Tart Magica, just to name a few), but not with these five anymore. It'll get too stale otherwise, and I'd rather not have to end up hating a series that I loved with my whole heart, just because the writers wouldn't let it go.
If they maybe want to animate things like "Homura's Revenge", "The Different Story", or "Oriko Magica" in the future (or any of the other timelines Homura effected), I'd be A-Okay with that, but just no more sequels to the anime proper, please. Prequels or interquels, maybe. Sequels (unless we're talking about the mangas where we finally get to see the girls fighting the Wraiths), no.
