[ Question ] Can Square Enix "officialize" a Kingdom Hearts Fan-Game ?

I know this is a really unusual question but... let me explained what happened last night :

My friend Chris was somewhat crazy and excited because well... he has a team that has developed Kingdom Hearts Rebirth , a fan game based on Kingdom Hearts. The thing is that last night when he was checking the mediafire account he kinda got surprised due to a message that popped up in the .rar file of the game :

You may be thinking that Square Enix has locked us the game, but they didn't so we're kinda confused and surprised...


Is it possible that they saw our big effort and they ... "officialized " the fan-game ? Maybe they saw the trailers or someone from Square saw the game. Here's a teaser for the English version and the upcoming sequel "Rebirth II" :

As Pinwheel said. I'm pretty sure that's just because you used Kingdom Hearts, which is copyrighted.
