DON'T BELIEVE ONDORE'S LIES!
The heartless exist in BBS. MX summoned them despite them supposedly being a starting point for Heartless and Xehanort the apprentice creating them.
All proof'd by KH1 and KH2 as well as 2 Nomura interviews.
that one again? didn't we already decide that wasn't a lie but a misunderstanding? ansems apprentice didn't create the heartless, he only created the emblem heartless. YES he created purebloods too. in fact the ansem reports clearly describe that he made shadows. but that doesn't mean he invented them. if you actually think about the mythology of the game and where heartless come from it wouldn't make sense if that was the first time heartless were created. like think of the door to darkness? where we see all the heartless hanging out n the dark realm. it wouldn't make a bit of sense if they only showed up in the last ten years. as for the reports
in nomura's most recent interview he even said that heartless have existed for as long as people's hearts have fallen into darkness. that makes sense. i don't see how it could make sense any other way. what ansems apprentice DID do was create a machine that mass produces heartless. that's when their threat got out of hand. thats when they started spreading uncontrollably. besides, xehanort only had memories of one year AND he had delusions of grandeur. when you consider that at the time travel between worlds was still very rare there wasn't any form of mass communication so all of his records came from one place. only one worlds perspective. he probably wholeheartedly(lol) believed he was the first one to create them.
i don't think one single heartless is really a threat to any body especially if you consider that there was at least 3 keyblade masters and their apprentices on the job. any small threat was probably taken care of before it got out of hand. similar to how when the unversed appeared they set out right away to take them out. of course at the end of BBS almost all of them were taken out of commission and mickey(the only one left unless you count yen sid) went and tried to stop it by talking to AtW. unfortunately for both rulers xehanort went behind AtW's back and kept going.
as for the "lie" *sigh* seriously, Japanese is a fickle language and its doesn't always work so well when you try to change it to english. have you noticed how many people translated the same content and though the same principal applied the wording on some was very different. i remember like 3 different versions of the dialogue in the secret ending alone. translation is an interpretation. sometimes things get lost in the mix or get distorted slightly. then when you consider how in any language there can be more than one way to say one thing, some words have multiple meanings, and sometimes people use slang which can change a meaning of a word, you will realize that translating isn't always exactly right.
im not saying the translators did a bad job. far from it. all im saying is that i wouldn't trust one translation word for exact word. which is what im almost positive happened in this case.
the interviewer asked if the unversed where a species of heartless. he said no they came before the heartless appeared. before they appeared. that can mean a couple of different things. maybe not in english but what about in japanese? when xehanort did his experiments he made his mass hearltess machine which caused the heartless to go on a rampage. since there wasn't really any left to stop it it got out of hand and started appearing on multiple worlds all at once. that was their "appearance" and when the world learned about them. when people saw the heartless i don't think any knew what exactly they were but what they did know is that they were trouble and they should hide...if they could. over the course of ten years how many worlds do you think were lost to the heartless? destiny island was gone in one night. that is the event nomura was referencing.
no one ever seems to give the man enough credit for the complex story he is telling and as soon as they get confused they assume they can't be wrong and call him a liar. seriously i haven't found anything that he without a doubt lied about. cause he certainly didn't about this.
EDIT** i would like to apologize. not for my post(i stand by what i said) but for allowing this thread to get derailed as much as it did. so i want to ask again if anyone has a recording of the secret video from coded or found a translation if there was dialogue in it or even a description? towards the beginning people said it had to do with riku on the clock tower but what exactly happens? and if its just him standing there what does data riku say before the video plays?
