No, I believe its your magic defence
VIT is 2 things - the first is it is your magic Defence.
The second is it acts as your general fitness, and as a second defence. Ther closer your hp is to 100% the better VIT works as a physical DEF

It is what keeps you going in battel the more you have the better chance you stand winning a battel.
What do you mean told you so? You didn't tell anyone anything that was the same as Decado's description.
