A rather form of an open challenge that is something I want to do. I don't care about what you put up as long as it isn't a god. I simply ask for combat in any form.

In short, that means: SOMEBODY, ANYBODY, FIGHT ME!

That is all.

If you use your Gabriel against Mine :D

No weapons (or conduit weapons), we'll keep powers inside of space/time. And for whatever outlet they have keep them 'earthly' aka no shit like creating stars, black holes, or even astral, namely incarnum. Light and Darkness however go hand in hand.

Melee could we go for frontal engagement, and best respects for the physicality of damage. Power-play of which is mild, done within the action and reaction speed of the attacker to the recipient. (If you have heightened awareness, all the better.)

Continuum sound good? I'm not looking to kill or maim, rather mostly go for full-contact and an all out effort to incapacitate as opposed to any brand of fatalities.

~~~~~~~~~
Name: GMC
Other Names: Gabriel, Gabe, Kid Dar
Title: The Nexus
Age: fifteen
Race: Human|Essence/Chi-Conduit
Homeworld: Earth/The Garden
Abilities:
Chi|Essence|Energy ~
A soul, that which flows through everything. On earth Gabriel was born and through him everything that breathes and thrives producing an individual outlet. Chi, Essence, Energy. His body contains Chi, the conscious interpretation holds his essence, and the very forces around energy. Gabriel is familiar with all three, when his awareness synchronizes he can interpret, breakdown, and then generate the very forces, be it extended from (around) him, of him, or of another. In battles he uses sentience from the start to develop an understanding of his opponent, of course being so very new nothing he can reflect or attempt to re-create is going to be perfect so he mainly goes off his own known skills.
Gabriel is also quite the martial artist, and a practitioner of multiple styles. The Bei-Fong Art, Reverse Mantis, Hungar, Jeet Kune Do, and various others. The utilization of martial arts coordinates his chi's flow and he can synchronize them to incapacitate foes by hitting pressure points, or controlling the muscle's outer and exposed nerves. Making him a fluid, yet vastly dynamic martial artist.
Background
______________________
Gabriel's history is one that rather rich and auspicious following how he was born. Again, he is in close relation to Rayne Angelique Crippen his blood sister and biological twin. Birthing followed by the natural limitations of men, his parents were indeed the same, DMC and WAG. The paternal and caretaker's of both him and his twin sister they were raised in the abode of a small home.
At a young age, around the same time Rayne was discovering gifts of her own, Gabriel was known as 'the center' the epicenter of spirituality that was transcendent of the body and spirit. His essence dubbed 'chi' on earth and ethereal essence in the garden. He can push and pull the natural forces of the planet and influence them even on the astral medium. Having more of Dar's characteristics, his spiritual chi was transient and could flux making him an altar for spirits as well.
In time Gabriel had matured into a adolescent as did his sister. The Nexus was ordained to him from DMC about the same time Rayne was dubbed The Believer. Gabriel had undergone trials within Orsa as he was the first in their family that didn't house or withhold a demiurge.
His relationship with Rayne was a strange one, she was the more tempered and controlled of the duo. Even in their rummaging through different planes of The Garden, she was everywhere. Superior to him in some aspects and Gabriel at times felt as though, it was right. Her evolution stopped at birth, he had that over her, and as his powers expanded with time she always stayed the same, her knowledge however continued.
It was one day when they spun across the old war zone in the lower garden. Where one if not the primary battle of Orsa was to be decided was fought here. They seemed to walked endlessly across the wasteland of decay, torn thirds, seconds, even first where scattered everywhere. In their little hike they came across something strange, a kind of monument or rather petrified statue. It professed a hand to touch a hand. Rayne's interpretive nature flexed her curiosity so she ventured further. Even against Gabriel's persuasion of danger, she touched it.
Her powers of dreams and reality seemed to pour into the statue, reversing the petrification process and taking Rayne's consciousness and locking it off the warzone. Unable to contact Gabriel, the statue rose, flesh and bone. A sentient embodiment of blood. Ricshar. This redheaded menace was encased in stone, by Reforge eon's ago. Had been reanimated by Rayne, in return he locked her from the warzone leaving Gabriel to fight for his life. The boy was only thirteen and still in the testing stages of his abilities.
Forced into conflicted, he braced his fist and went toe to toe with embodiment making great use of his powerful martial arts in combination with the chakras that ebbed through his motions. Ricshar could project essence shelled into physical scales. Effectively as this battle raged, Gabriel's fist were parried by these barrier's containing his chi-based waves. It was a high-speed and physically intense brawl among everything else.
This is where Gabriel learned to fight. Where he learned to release, without fear or hesitation. Defending his life and to protect Rayne, he hyper-evolved his individual essence to coat and ebb off him and tie into his attacks making them much more brutal. A direct strike tying into the essences of the recipient, rippling and distorting internal and external flow, he wore Ricshar down. Until he came with a swift smack to the side of his cheek. Effectively twisting his fist, shattering his barrier formed and cracking that side of his jaw, until he dropped seconds later.
As a result, Gabriel claimed victory. Rayne was able to return to the plane to take her brother home, tired, he let her carry him off.
Since then he's tuned his skills and abilities, and developed a much closer bond with Rayne, or as she calls herself now, "Lady Sera".
Sometime from this, Gabriel then encountered yet another opponent. By the trials and tribulations he'd been amassed in on earth, it ended badly. Thrown into a cage, to fight for the bemusement of much higher forces. The cage that hung inside of a mountain and leading two to fight unable to break their cage from the outside. Gabriel then understood as the light swung back and forth that this was by means of his own survival. He faced down a very alien silhouette within the darkness of the cage. Going by the name of Sano.
Engaged in combat their physical adept levels of brawling were fairly stable. Gabriel engaged the way he did because he was intent on breaking some bones, or rather he wanted to flex his muscles for the purpose of loosely allowing the very essence around and inside of him. It was during the actual fight itself that Gabriel began to flex and spread his metaphorical wings. Breathing life into an innate sense known as sentience, he could feel and interpret the energies, essences, and fluxes of his opponent. In time stem from them, and eventually generate on his own.
It wasn't quite sufficient at first. As he was able to tune in incredibly out of sync with it at first, possibly when it came to seeing past the blind aspect of a flash-bang move by Sano. He was able to fight this and counter with his bare hands. Not so much as a shock to Sano in best respects, as Gabriel seemed to instinctively gather information and string it together into a new move he'd randomly named. After which was disbanded by Sano's quickness. His next manuever quite literally left a bad taste is Gabriel's mouth, as to where he vomited it back up something fierce. Feeling it of a sudden building of momentum, he focused the raw of his chi between his palms, fluxing a bright white ellipse, layered twice.
Sending it Sano's way, he ripped the move apart and trapped Sano inside. As the light disbanded and went everywhere, he claimed victory, effectively doing something of a more brutal scale. Beaming power into him through each color until his color hit, and the next ripping the power out with the moving color and split out into the other colors. Gabriel held his hand over his face, parting his bangs. He was done for the day, watching the cage doors release taking his leave. Incapacitating Sano long enough before he released the prism and the loop ended.
I've jisted enough about Gabriel from reading many of your past battles (some with his full temp). If you'd like to incite any changes, feel free to post his updated template. The most recent was in that battle against Chromatic that I came across.
(There haven't been any changes, though most of your bannings are unnecessary as Gabriel isn't a Valyon or Ukiah. My post will be here in a little while. Expect references to your new Cradled Dawn , Fog of Dark Light, and Valyon's final battle at some point.)
All was in darkness for this realm.
Darkness would be the simplest description for those who were not familiar with the more intricate nature of the location. While the area was dark, it was not pitch-dark. The sky above housed an orb of light. When one thinks of light, an individual appraises sight and safety,. This bright orb did not radiate safety, but the oppressive and deceptive brightness of dark light. One could still see despite its harsh nature and the opaque obscurity.
The reason our attention comes to this locale of the past is due to a familiar figure to us. While there was seemingly no earth to stand upon, this being stood upon the blackness effortlessly. Closer inspection to those who could observe such things revealed that the surface could not be seen with the naked eye. This character whom we contemplate is known as the Field Marshall Gabriel. The Marshall's thoughts were not to his location, but to what was presented to him.
If a being with average detection abilities were present in Gabriel's location, that individual would see nothing but the dark light around itself. This difficulty had been circumvented by long periods of training his senses in all manner of ways. Even back then, he could still observe that structure which menaced an entire Earth long ago. A massive gate of metal towered within the vast dark light and reflected on the surface. Designs of menacing creatures of demonic origin would strike terror within the very selves that would be dragged into the depths of the Abyssal Plane, or Hell as the designation of this section would be named. Screams of terror and the howls of the hellion hordes which went out to war would forever echo within the Marshall's memories.
Yet it was not a total disaster. The armageddon has been stopped, and the gate had returned to its original position. For Gabriel himself, he had escaped with help from old friends who had infiltrated the Abyssal Plane's Xibalbá and aided him. Through the rest of the Fogging, Gabriel assisted in the escape of others who had been caught and inflamed a rebellion which allowed the group to escape. Gabriel himself remained behind on the basis of a rumour on a subject of dear importance to him. Back to the present, Gabriel had returned as a form of pilgramage. Unarmed, he had traced backwards from his newest home to the locales of his past.
There is no need to enter this realm.
His self-imposed pilgramage did not require direct entry into the Abyssal Plane. It would have been a reckless danger to his being in comparison to all of the powerful beings that resided there. Without his weapons, it would have been a nightmarish trek that he could not risk at that time.
On to the ruin then?
With that, Gabriel vanished from that place
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The battlefield: The city from Fog of Dark Light. Once a lively metropolis, Makyu's invasion has turned it into a cursed ruin. Once towering skyscrappers now lay abandoned, toppled and collapsed by Shadow Shenron. Hellfire still burns in certain sections, and the ground has become grey sand. The Hellfire increases the heat somewhat, but there isn't enough to simulate Hell's heat. No human being lives near that place in a radius of 100 km.
(The opening post is yours)
As the footsteps began to fill the craters of others. Walking for what felt like an eternity, the soles of his seemed to drag. This hellish scene, reminiscent of the very ashes that fluttered through the landscape. The son of Salforge making his way across the lands he came upon times of his own trials and tribulations he'd undergone.
The branding.
All he remembered was upon coming of age, a crest was then embedded on his right arm. Something of quiet fear, confronting Onen at age thirteen after his battle with Ricshar. Onen, only meeting him once, he was Garforge's first and most powerful legitimate son. Their meeting took place in the lowest levels of the garden. He met Onen on the water, as he stood in the moonlight in meditation.
These memories weren't as scarce as they were terrifying. He didn't come by means of his own undoing, he sought his first mentor. Onen essentially was the most composed son of Garforge, the oldest, and the most prominent. In the surreal setting he found his focus, nothing disturbed him, nothing bothered him, no one altered his attention. With the exception of Gabriel of course. Focus so complete, strike so fast, slipping outside of even Gabriel's instinctive reflexes, was Onen's signature move.
Breg Vizrael
A distortion of multiple energies focusing on the displacing and replacing of energies within matter. Effectively eliminating the striker from detection, using their entire body as a silenced bullet that steps outside of interpretive awareness, shooting the body with the complete transfer of what they held inside of themselves.
He couldn't counter, he couldn't dodge, he couldn't buffer it without understanding. Gabriel after his first encounter, awoke under the care of his father again. Having already experienced Onen's technique one time, he practiced every time since then. Coming to where he was now.
Gabriel was still walking. He wasn't registering the sensation of heat that was being generated by the flames, that seemed magically spinning their way over parts of the land. This city, looking like nothing more than a shantytown now. The crusader took his own time, bracing himself as he was wearing even lighter attire for a change. Training garbs, a sleeveless robe, and pants of the same fabric. Black in color, pitching the symbol of a windmill on his back. His left arm completely bandaged, likely his striking palm. The right with a black wristband and sleeveless glove, cushioned for brawling. He wore low profile socks, and slipper-like shoes without strings.
The young man's physique was toned, and built up. He was five feet and six inches in height, his hair was raven black, with orange highlights at the tip of his bangs. His eyes were a kind of subtle but very pleasing orange. In the face you could see his age, quite young and innocent for he was a teen after all. Looking upon the wasteland that he was in, he was expecting a desert like this to contain something or someone for that matter.
Paradise could not be found in this place.
Tainted dust shimmered in heat eternal. Forever the same temperature, abiding would be difficult for the average being. Ash moderately blanketed the heavens creating a cineral atmosphere. Especially within the centre of the waste was the soot at its worst. This Earth's star was no longer visible to the naked eye; the blazes were the only light. It was here the Gabriel reappeared , capuche fluttering in the wind.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hell on Earth and the Truth(Fog of Dark Light event flashback)
It had been 2 hours on the Material Plane, and the nightmare had yet to reach its limit. Though the screams had finally abated, the demons continued their play. Makyu had vanished from the battlefield taking those who had survived and pushed back the initial onslaught to personally do battle. Gabriel had been one of them, but he had been defeated by the Chaos God Set and sent to Hell itself.
The initial onslaught from the opening of the gate had obliterated the closest buildings and people. Those who lived right where the entryway had materialized had no opportunity for escape. Only empty ground survived where the gate stood. Few had remained behind preferring to feast on human blood.
The gate had remained silent..but for a sudden buzzing noise.
Within the gateway, the entry shimmered as if a rock had been dropped into a lake. From that, a figure emerged with difficulty. Completely encased by ebony plate, this figure was a bear of a man(his broad shoulders being the main clue to gender). Wrapped around his waistline, golden string connected him to whatever it was tied around within the Abyssal Plane. The armored being pulled himself forward with tremendous effort dragging the cargo to the Material Plane.
A human figure was tied to the string with more remaining within the Abyssal. As more humans were dragged out, an observer would realize that a human chain had been constructed by the golden string. Many of the human souls that had been falsely slain and sent to the abyss were being rescued that had not been corrupted during their stay. At the end of this chain was a young woman looking back. Brown hair and fair eyes, almost alabaster in color. she donned a similiar cloak to Gabriel's, with the difference of it being the color of the sky instead of the habitual crimson.
'Where's he, lass?"
The plated figure's voice boomed despite the mouth being covered.
"...He cut the string so we could get away..."
The woman's voice, while seemingly fragile, held an inner strength within them despite the tone of despair. The armored figure's gauntlet fist clenched tightly as an engravng of the inverted cross fell away. A necklace of the same symbol was adorned by the other. Despair rode in waves around the both of them. They had almost ignored the buzzing which sounded off once more if not for the male's recognition, while attracting the other's attention soon after.
Both figures were on guard awaiting what was passing through. They were obviously nervous with the beings they had angered to complete their tasks. Together, however, they would both finish their mission as the last order from him had been...
A small figure shot out from a high point of the gate; It was a male human shape illuminated by light. To the average human spirits below, the sun had risen again. Their cheers could not drown out her voice, the joy overwhelming all other feelings:
"Gabriel!"
It was the future Field Marshall wielding the evolved blade Royal Dawn. Relief would not last as the buzz continued. The wind and earth both began to respond to a natural call, one swirling around the female, the other rumbling around the armored warrior. A longbow materialized within the woman's hand, a warhammer rising from the earth into the other's waiting grip. Shortly, the buzz ended as a hell hound emerged.
This was no regular dog of Hell, but the beast known as Cerberus. Permanent guard through the passages that connected the different underworlds, he almost had his prey. So close to being devoured, then he could return for a nice long nap. If he had any intelligent thoughts, that would have ran through all three heads. Then pain...the center head looked to see the left explode into gore, a breeze blowing from that section. A sudden lurch downward on the other side brought its attention to where the other figure slammed his hammer on the right head's skull. If not for shock, it would have noticed an angled pillar had launched him high enough to go above the victim's head. A bright, final light attracted the remaining skull to the original target. Its final gaze was nothing but pure light completely engulfing his senses.
Cerberus' last inkling of thought, before his head was cleaved in half, was surprise that Gabriel had missed. Gravity caught up with Gabriel-"Wait...gravity?"-and he plummeted towards the earth. His surprise continued even as his form bounced against a patch of condensed air.
He floated back towards the ground as Cerberus' corpse collapsed, dissipating into a ruby mist which receeded back to its unholy den. An amazed Gabriel breathed heavily from the thrilling and terrifying escape; the accomplishment of what they had just performed setting in. Both figures rushed to the now reclining Gabriel with a hand offered from both.
Elkros...Alnari...thank you both.
For the first time in recent memory, Gabriel gave an honest smile as he accepted their hands.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Memory was easy to interrupt when life appears where there should be none. A presence interrupted the dive into the past forcing Gabriel's attention. Instantly, the Marshall scanned the area and was satisfied. If battle was to be joined, this would be excellent domain for that application.
Youth had come to entertain. Wide was his smile, and fitting to the scene on which he'd entered. The youth of Salforge, one Gabriel M. Crippen to be exact, promptly referred to as GMC or The Nexus by title. Above the likes of many in his own generation, their pursuit of power lead to a life of isolation, corruption, and woes of those that have defected from them.
The stories of one woman who traveled beckoning a kinship with some of her closest and even worst enemies. The power obtained as a result was blinding, but to the extent of what? Loneliness. Gabriel consorted with this act amidst his own conscious many times, and wouldn't stray but so far from his own ambitions. For the lives of those to whom he held and cherished, even the living nature that surrounded him, respect for the flow kept in tow. His own motto.
His attention wasn't divided for very long. A remorseful past could only hold his state of awareness captive for but so long. Unfamiliar with the presence that crossed his senses of chi, essence, and energy, it was...odd to say the least. Something like a stepchild left in the basement at the very mercy of the perpetual darkness that contained him or her. The young man shivered, his feet impeding upon ash and broken asphalt.
Setting his eyes to peer horizontally, absorbing everything on the scene visually. Though he couldn't see anyone, they reserved their presence, yet not their location to Gabriel's peripherals. Something of a smile gave him some hope, in a way it could be interpreted as "just another body". The boy was too young to even know what that meant, without any form of ego to speak of, he moved into the rough divide.
Exposure.
Snapping his one finger, he generated a silent and yet sonic wave that seemed to carry no sound, but a vibrating pitch that shattered the street lights, even though some if not most were already maimed beyond repair. Shattering the glass of each, effectively giving away his own location. Patience was something passed on to him from his line of blood, there he stood at 'the center' of it all.
The individual had brought himself closer to his location. There was no need to use visual cues here as there was no attempt to cloak. Honesty seemed to be the creed of this being; possibly arrogant if he would assume as much. Reading was not perfect, especially with limited data to use.
From a cursory attempt, Gabriel could immediately tell he radiated chi. Chi flowed throughout his system, seemingly acting as an attractor. The fact that it was doing so without an attempt to hide spoke of possible inexperience; more evidence would include the small reserves and the nature of the energy which he detected. There was the possibility that he would be encountering eternal youth once more, but the Marshall doubted that. It would have a certain tinge to it if that were the case.
The sound of breaking glass confirmed it.
He deliberately revealed his location to any being, humanic or otherwise, that may have inhabited this place. Gabriel would have laughed at that, if it were not for the sudden spike that was suddenly converging in that direction.
A pity. Well let us see what you are capable of.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
While this metropolis had been the epicentre of Makyu's episode, it had not been the only locale which suffered. That entire Earth experienced a wide-spread end scenario. With entries into the Abyssal Plane fully expelling its energies, that Earth in its entirely was stained by the Abyss. Mass mutations had taken place in the years following Makyu and the restoration of his senses. All of creation had been affected; all survivors adapted to the new situation. While humans born with abilities not of that would be born naturally in the following decades, other creatures mutated in a short time for evolution. Such monstrosities converged on his position.
Howling could suddenly be heard close by their position. It was reminiscent of the wait of spirits incapable of moving forward to the next world after a long period: incorrigible rage and suffering. Blood eyes stared from the shadows watching the next meal. Slowly they stepped from the darkness, revealing a wolf pack of moderate size. Their crimson oculars bellied a great size unfamiliar to most creatures beyond that realm.
They were twice as large as the average lupine. The muscle mass, while great, showed a sleek external structure of the lupine manner. This meant that their speed would at least equal their tinier cousins. Natural weapons of claws and teeth were sharpened to a greater degree and, for some, were stained in the blood of their victims. There were obviously young pups yet to have taken their first hunt. With fur of sleek white, they seemed 'cleaner' than the older, more experienced. The latter's once alabaster fur were now the same as dry blood. Their essence radiated a constant anger never satisfied, forever haunted by the events which facilitated their existence.
Mindsets did not change as the boy was encircled by the pack, with taunts of fake lunges towards his person. Finally, the predator struck from the child's sinister direction. The others soon followed as the first was halfway to the prey.
He paused. It was brief, but not without caution, the alluring sounds of the echoing glass thus attracted the attention of those that lurked on the desolate setting. It didn't adorn him to much or even a higher state of caution. In truth, there was a great deal more for him by this alert. One would always take advantage of the terrain and this is what Gabriel himself would do.
Then greeted by eyes of the ravaging beast the walked the streets. Unable to deter if these were run of the mill wolves or lycanthropes all their own. Little to no humanity that seemed to sovereign their now bloodied and savage nature. Some white, others red, fur filtered in the blood of those that fell victim to their carnal respite.
Gritting their pearly whites, they circled as any creature would. It then dawned on him, to do the unthinkable. A glint in his eyes, as he resonated with the beast of the barren streets. Linking to their telepathy of sorts, as the first lunge came, there was a mental string tugged at. The image that reflected their prey as an even greater demon than even them.
At his feet, the first landed. Gabriel's own nature that which seemed to first be cautious, hinting fear, warming and showered with a kind esque that the wolves then took to. Brushing against him, the alpha or so he gathered this from skimming the top of his thoughts, graced the youth with a display that the other wolves indulged in. At this time, they all shared a link to the others thoughts, and it was here Gabriel directed, vibrating with the wolves feral senses.
'Away with you.'
They seemed to scatter but not far from each other, the wolves retreating to their active hunt, Gabriel no longer on the menu. Showing his communication with nature, wasn't limited to just natural forces, but the psyche of human, beast, and the like. Waiting on something, someone, he wasn't sure, but he had to admit setting the wolves his way was more or less his own fault. Gabriel sighed, taking a lunge of about fifty meters towards the high-ground, making his way towards something of a stand out building, in ruin.
The Marshall detected what the youth had done to repair his rookie error. Sudden hesitancy from the pack turned his attention directly towards the location. To those who would look at his eyes, they would immediately emphasize the unqiue coloration which revealed itself. Heterochromic oculars would stare back, unphased at the surprise that would be quite obvious from those unfamiliar with it. Those that were acclimated to the condition would be even more amazed at the different hues of blue which stared back. On the right, light sky reflected as the pigmentation. Dark Navy would be explained as the other.
Now facing the direction of the boy, his eyes gazed through the fog beyond the average limitations of sight. Outlines appeared almost immediately for Gabriel to process within. The demonic will which twisted those canines into those forms had been stopped by an illusion upon their senses. A closer glance indicated they were reevaluating their target before deciding on a new course through their hazy rage. Sudden kindness would bring his attention back to the boy, who was using his chi to reach into the buried natures of the tainted creatures. His success would bring approval as the true nature of the animals was salvaged from the abyssal energies. Closer study of his energies would bring revelation for the Marshall and the immediate decision.
Within the energy structure, divine force was imbedded within. It was faint, but obvious enough for those who could detect such energies.
A youth with the heritage of the Divine. Which section?
Each substance had its own signature which told its location and whence it came. While the chi would immediately scream Material/Astral, that strand of Divine could be ascertained and discover his true origins. Jingling metal came to notice as a locket materialized within his hand. The golden shine seemed dull within their location, unable to brighten the display while failing miserably. His thumb touched the opening and flicked it open. Outside of the ash, bright light shot towards the sky seemingly towering towards the heavens. Shortly, all returned as it had been.
When the boy reached the building, he would be amazed to find a floating ball of essence. Utterly white and bright, it floated lazily at the entrance. As he neared, it seemed to stir with crackles of energy. Buzzing noises would be heard sounding like a trumpet increasing in sound with each note.
Charge!
It shot forward instantly reaching his position within seconds. The sudden stop would likely confuse him as the Doom Song was being buzzed so close to his presence. Its attention finally wandered as it floated back to the building humming all the while. As it went back to position, the color changed to a familiar blue. The Little Energy Ball that Could, a name that was come up with while entertaining the thing with children's stories, was converting into Chi, the youth's chi.
Soft footsteps echoed throughout the silent realm as Gabriel slowly appeared into existence. With facial features and any signatures completely hidden as the norm, he stopped where the ball had been first sighted and touched it. A look of intense concentration would appear across his face before satisfaction was achieved.
Orsa is it...
Those words would not be spoken from his lips, but echoed directly into the child's mind. Despite his skill, that was all he would be capable of unless he were directly exposed and connected to him. Instead, he was indirectly speaking through his own thoughts and transmitting them to the other.
With all the evidence, I would say you are Gabriel M. Crippen yes?
Upon reaching the top, he was quite intrigued, amazed, and cautious in an instantaneous manner. Seeing what he discerned as a white floating orb of essence. It's nature something he was familiar with, at least in terms of Authius' means of communication.
Orsa.
Anyone would be correct in utterance, though not immediately. His connection with Orsa was a single-hood and not as linear as his sister, Lady Sera. He found much more diverse ways around these incisions that were made. A force close, but even further from him, penetrating his thoughts for as long as he'd allow. It was somewhat ironic, this being the first to attempt to delve into him in loo in confronting. Smart, but location was as only as good as the man concealing himself.
A simple nod towards the floating sphere was enough. Admittedly this did startle him, but it's not so unheard of. Raising his hand to the actual sphere, residual conversion and deemed as the masking force not completely disembodied of the signature's nature. Was this a wise decision? If Gabriel M. Crippen's intentions were malicious, think nothing more beyond that notion.
This channeled to his awareness on the means of consciousness independent of thought. Gabriel had his own means of concealing when it came to the masters, foes, and teachers he'd had his share with in the unbridled past he laced in tow. With a wafting scent, a residual trail would undoubtedly bring him to his 'offender' more or less.
'How is it you know of me?'
Expressing a mutual thought to the floating sphere as he set off into the abyss following what looked like an aimless stroll with complete attention to the sphere without direct eye contact.
Crippen's wariness registered immediately from his mannerisms and word choices. It was obvious he had been startled by his manner of communication, but still seemed confident in his own abilities. Young and brash this boy definitely could be described as. He made certain that everything was prepared as the norm in the connection before continuing the conversation.
I am knowledgable in quite a few details, especially those who travel the Planes.
Gabriel spoke in an unnerving monotone that revealed nothing about his emotions, essence, and any other method one could use to dechiper anything of his nature through his voice. A blank stare and empty stance would accompany any physical perception of the sight. For those who could detect beyond, it seemed as if his entire signature had vanished from the face of existance. Monotoning, the Marshall continued his sppech.
One must be prepared for the journey once it has begun. Those who are not are doomed to a horrid end, especially in the olden time. Young child, do you know not what you may one day encounter?
Once, long ago, there was a meeting of the minds, of a sort. All of them had great power and skill. Of all of them, only one would not be corrupted due to events of their own existence. I suppose it is because he was already ancient when this meeting began.
In his mind, Kid Dar would see a hand gesture waving around the entire area.
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4wkUGnnyc8&feature=related This is worth playing to get the feel.)
This entire Earth was a victim of one of those great powers' rage and insanity. It was only the fact that he had realized his error and stopped from spreading his mad endeavor that we were all spared from a calamity the likes that would have never been experienced by any other event in what can be deemed as history. Even then, this realm was no longer salvagable as it once was. Nearly every being who had come at the beginning to attempt to end that acopalypse were captured, twisted, and completely made subservient to the Abyss.
As he communicated, the transmission of what had occurred was sent to his mind. All of those who had first arrived and encountered the beings that Makyu had sent against them, many of their defeats and expulsion into the Abyss. The screams of the suffering inhabitants were as heartwrenchingly clear as if he were there himself. The towering dragon, the twisted form of Shenron, flew above the city destroying everything in his path. The body-snatcher, the spertentine ninja Orochimaru, attacking and killing every person he could, taking their souls for his own corrupt spirit. The transmission of that ended with the gate wide opening unleashing the hordes which slaughtered as many as they possibly could.
Madness is it not?
To someone of your nature and maturity, you may not be capable of truly understanding the reasoning of these events as of yet.
Tell me, child, what would you do if something of a similiar nature were to repeat itself?
The voice of a harlequin perhaps, hostility met with its own surmise of integrity and this Gabriel divvied for himself. Scratching his head, being filled with the images of deviants from a different Era. All of which he wasn't around during the time when said events took place. As though it was just another ordeal to grace the setting at any moment, spared of surreal feeling. As though his senses were ambushed by gore, war cries, and the blood shed in the wake of the turmoil that ensued.
It was madness, probably comparable to the training he was introduced to by his old man. Feeling he had to disclose his mind and separate the flow of the images that seemed to paint a vivid picture inside of head. Pulling back just a bit, he laid his hand to rest on his head, short lived before folding his arms.
It was the simplest retort, the gesture of which may not have made sense. He braced the right arm, then the left, a pantomimed response. The clenching of his biceps and unaltered disposition said enough for his cool and leveled demeanor. The arms were tied, meaning there was more than one, stemming to say this wouldn't be just in the hands of Gabriel to decide what action. Falling into his hands, his sisters, father's, and mother's even. To those he knew who would confront a similar fate became tied into an unholy forecast of doom.
'Its not just up to me, but those around me who'd be affected as well.'
He wanted to do more. There was an obstruction, whenever he really sat down and thought about it, it really was just the idea of what it meant to be powerful. The pursuit of power within itself and those you've met and allied yourself with with a selfishness maintained, insane. It was misery that the youth wasn't one to see all the way through. Sighing was what he could do to really convey that, just more gestures.
Gabriel was slightly impressed with his answer.
That is not to say that how the child had replied was completely satisfactory to him. Considering his words alone would have been enough. However, that was not his way. He preferred to have those he spoke to understand with no gaps in the knowledge being imparted to his fellow converser. It was obvious that the boy was uncomfortable with the concept of power. They were similar in that manner, along with other details but one. It was that detail that the boy would have to understand if he were to grow into someone capable of resisting the lure of his power as he aged.
Your family will not always be with you. There will be times when you will be alone only with your abilities and wit to accompany you. As you are now, there are many regions and opponents on the Planes that would completely annhilate you. You have yet to reach the peak of your capacity and the full embrace of the Planes which you derive your power from. \
For the first time, noise could be heard within his area. The sound of chains clacking together was very clear as the hand of the Marshall rose to point both middle and pointer digits towards Kid Dar from his right. Straight as an arrow, they remained in position unwaveringly. The monotone had vanished as Gabriel's voice echoed out loud for the first time.
Forget yourself; arrogance is your downfall. Fear your power; it will consume you. Fear what you are capable of; the rush when you finally perform with it will corrupt absolutely.
His fingers and the chains wrapped around his arm glistened. The strength being radiated would be enough to terrify any native inhabitant, human or otherwise, nearby from coming closer to the area. The essence sphere slowly sunk behind the Marshall and out of sight, vanishing in the output that was being unleashed. A once neutral voice spoke loudly and with conviction to the child right in front of him:
Gabriel M. Crippen, allow me to enlighten you to the state of affairs within this and all other universes!
With that, he fired a beam of light. The heat being radiated scarred the earth on its trajectory as it fragmented into smaller beams which spread out to attack from all directions. The moment they connected with any target would unleash a blinding area of effect which would purify and burn anything within a decimeter of the core.
Coming to the acceptance of his powers, brandished abilities, and polished skills it was simple. The utilization and making the back breaking moral decisions is what caused him to waver, this was unyielding. Rising, gripping chains, something of an intimidating sight as well as demeanor, Gabriel looked on unflinching.
A quick gulp followed, the sound is what was nearly splitting his ears. A different kind of radiance in essence of what is, this was a much more intense sight. With definite means to siege and spread a wave of terror, success wasn't very far off. Gabriel seemed to tremble, even with realization, the actuality wasn't something he truly struggled with. The idea of corruption as the harlequin said, that's where he stood in complete stasis.
It was true; Gabriel's family wouldn't always reside with him. On some other level they would, but to be here where he stood now, no. Ice cold, separating himself from inner warmth, he manifested something new. A black essence, bone chilling, riddled with decay and not quite necessarily of evil origin. He clenched his fist, hardening himself for roof above his mental walls extending excessive stress.
He opened his stalks, raising his hand to the shadows that extended from the buildings. Much like the extension of his own fingers from a dissolved fist, he took the space of the shadows in the bleakness of this astonished scene. The crawlspaces expanded like tendrils, capturing the burning light from every which way. Even Gabriel's way, his own shadow curled, and slithered up him the opacity was even darker than his flesh, devouring the burning flares. Acting like leaches, they kept the beams at bay, lurking backward the separating beams and the sphere that extended them all.
How he was able to see came down to how the man's essence appeared a different color even in the rawness the light. It wasn't difficult to make his way to him if he chose to. Steadily, things were dimming, and vision returned. Gabriel picked up a counter attack of the same magnitude. Forming a black ellipse of darkness, appearing in the sky, moving in front as to ward off the light that illuminated the ruined area. With this, heat was also gone or the temperature would soon drop.
It meant becoming cold-blooded. Gabriel took a step back, falling into his shadow, no sound and completely engulfed. Moving at the speed of darkness, by means of individual essence could he detect the motions of the other. With little to no lag in his shadow-presence, he emerged off the shadow of a building, a spring leap from his enemy's right side with stealth and quiet, bringing with him a halved, yet fierce right jab aiming for the temple.
His terror was quite striking, and a reminder of his youth to the Marshall. While he would not show it or reveal this in any manner whatsoever, what needed to be done would be quite a harrowing experience for both youngling and elder. The boy would be due to the likely brutality that would be dealt against him, and Gabriel because of the reminiscent feelings of his own early existence.
'You are correct again Teacher. This will not be enjoyable.'
A feeling familiar to him would echo from past history as the child's essence began to convert into darkness...
Is this...?
A quick glance would confirm that he was incorrect for once. It was darkness, but tainted with emotion: loneliness and despair. While similar to Zetsumi's Umbra, that was only due to how close those negative emotions emulated the evil and funerary element that distinguished the Necromancer's former aura. His hidden pain grew slightly as he observed the black defense which made the bright blast obsolete. The truth had driven the boy to tap into the dark abilities which were inherent to those that had such a source. Piercing the opaque block that had been put in place, he observed the same strand of Divine which would not go out with such paltry use, and also took in its disappearence within.
Truly child, you will have to do much better than that.
Sudden noises tended to shock those unprepared for them.
Chains wrapped on his right bicep disconnected quickly while dropping onto the Earth. The metallic links which conjoined with one another banged together like a symphony of bells before landing on the ground. The alabaster, silk-like wrap with completely consumed his hand and arm to his elbow loosened and fell away revealing his hand to the world.
Gabriel right hand was shaped as a human one. Most of the features that distinguished that part of the body were in place: digits, nails etc... The reason they were covered would be obvious at first glance. That hand would wrench the hearts of the compassionate seeing what seemed to be glass instead of flesh and bone. In truth, it only appeared to be that way. Those who would touch it would notice that it felt little different from the rest of the Marshall's physical form; the only difference would be the pulsations of light that would be released.
That which was wrapped around the other suddenly contorted into dark energy and consumed that which it wrapped. When it dissipated, a velvet wrap was left in place. It would be the only hint of Darkness that would be revealed in this state. The exposed hand would only take a moment before unleashing white light which consumed his form from view. As it did so, all of the darkness that the kid had released was obliterated by illumination the likes of which would be a rarity in the Material Realm.
As Umbra was darkness in its purest form, so did light have such a state.
As the child had lunged directly from the shadows, he would not be able to stop the momentum which he had begun. There was nothing in which he could use to escape from this as his Darkness would suppress his chi from use. If he was able to think clearly beyond the pain, a sense of dread would likely be felt very distinctly.
His fist would touch nothing once he crossed into the blinding light. All of his senses but touch would become useless. A sudden grasp at his throat and the ensuing grip would be all he felt before the pain.
Imagine being thrown into a volcano and falling into the lava. That agony was nothing compared to what the boy would now feel. Pure light without taint coursed throughout his entire being cleansing the dark power which the boy was using. His entire shell shook and spasmed as the blackness was purified; the immeasurable agony would consume all thought. His orbs would be observing his brain showing the whites of his eyeballs to all if it could be seen. Eventually, the child's body would be launched from his torment at high sppeds in an encasing of the light. That suffering would continue as his mortal frame finally reached the earth skipping along the surface as if he were a rock thrown on a lake. He would finally stop after crashing into another standing building.
'Even if not depraved, the strongest light will always be victorious against the dark.'
Coming out, as though something was being around or in the state of liquification. The extended hampering seeming to divide and depart in something of an instantaneous mannerism. Gabriel himself detected this, and the throw would be staggering. His only alternative, with just slight detection that single sense which was infallible, his sentience.
A recourse, something he funneled within himself to round about the light that entered. From within, the tiny part of his chi forged a technique he would imbue upon his enemies. The very same technique that was taught to him by Gsingrath.
'Nu...Elezebreth..Vois...'
A translucent cube bending the light that entered effectively cradling it and converting it, doing the reverse and pushing the entering light outside his form. Giving way to his senses, recapturing his sight, sound, and touch. Hurling his form into a rigid spin, buffering the influx, but at the same time letting his access to the chi he utilized return. He couldn't emulate the raw as he was not of it. Torn into a skid, burying his free arm and two legs into the ground, a rough slide, slammed him against a building. The kinetic energy pushed to zero negating the impact force.
A smack to his frame, he really was a lightweight, but digesting what was unnatural to him there and then is where he developed his courage. He stood shaking, still shocked from the complete brink of the counter. Gabriel held his face until the titillating stopped. He liked the idea, a doom forecast to utterly rattle the cage of his perpetuation, no longer able to sense the black essence that was forged by his emotion. His breath was harsh and to a point where he didn't quite dig that deep.
''More test of yours? Succumbing to the corruption of power only to create some form of chivalry. If so...then cast me as the renegade vigilante that doesn't have a preference.''
He entered a perplexing state that then convulsed and was forged through his muscles, a multi-draw of foreign essences that convulsed and siphoned with is chi. To the chains that oppressed, they could be torn, lacerated. His fist wasn't of steel, but it was something more heavenly. Suddenly, hitting the epitome of what was by the material plane's standard. Inertia. Gone, completely erasing himself from the battle field and by extensions of what he gave off, nothing connected to it, eliminating a trail.
'Breg Vizrael.'
A staggering and imminent feat, the presence to one with the quickest sense or just a psyche for time could catch this earthly manuever. Raising his fist, elbows flat, a jutting connection of the gathered forces, suddenly vanishing, then reappearing contact being the first to ensue upon coming back. He sprung from the ground below, the low profile broken when the very foundation under neath The Marshall was reduced to dust, and Gabriel was still rising from under him. The imminent burst and surprise didn't deter his key endeavor, he used his head this time.
Literally. Headbutting the chest cavity and registering the remaining force he carried with him. Of course the dual-edged rule applied, halving it as best he could, he fell back catching himself with two feet and palms. A rather painful wince, as he rubbed his head profusely. "Dear god, that smarts."
As the translucent die was materialized to counteract his effect upon his senses, the light which had come to be when that section of his strength had been released to its fullest finally lessened to reveal the appearance of the Marshall, and there was without doubt differences from when he had first revealed himself to the other Gabriel. While the velvet wrap and his cloak remained in place, other alterations would bring attention to the new state which was reached. What was first noticed would be the crystal hand which had been unleashed; that had vanished being replaced by an average, flesh-appearing limb vibrant with life. The only change that there was something of that nature was the crystal bracer which had emerged from the brightness.
His lower body had altered little from the release. Clothing which had been there from the start were still in place. Only one change had taken place: what had once been metallic boots had been replaced with the same crystalline material as the bracer. His cloak ensconced the torso from immediate view of the child's eyes, but a hint of the same material which was elsewhere could be detected faintly on his senses. Moving towards the apex, his face had not changed in anyway structurally, leaving both hair and eyes to reveal the truth. The heterochrome which characterized his orbs had vanished in favor of pure azure with heaven's shade. In his natural state, it was reminiscent of his right eye. Hair almost white but with a recognizing blonde tint to it rounded out his full emergence. Whatever understanding the boy had of him was now shattered into miniature shards of knowledge.
Pure light, or as it was named Lumine by the Marshall, still radiated from his form, but it was more aural now making him appear more alive than he had before. A smile graced his features as he watched Gabe rise from the rubble obviously harmed by the wave of light which had caused damage to his shell. Exhaustion was already beginning to set in for his tired muscles and bones. Yet it seemed that what had taken place finally gathered his courage to stand against what he percieved as a threat to his well-being.
He did not respond to what the young one had spoken of choosing to let him have his own interpretation of the matter even if it were completely false what he believed this purpose of this performance.
Within himself he focused a single thought:
'Ready...'
A soft 'paaaaaah' echoed within as he focused upon the boy's next move. The boy remained in place as he concentrated upon his focus, his manipulation of his strength. Then...
Nothing.
This ability did not surprise the Marshall in the least. It was very similar to how he faded and reappeared, except it served as more of a cloak for his movements. From the intent that Kid Dar would have and his style of combat, he would once again attempt to attack directly. If he had learned better, it would be from an unexpected direction. His detection retracted from the sides while extending the range of the other directions. Such an ability had one obvious weakness that was perfectly exploitable if one knew how to observe such things. When a being entered the Material Plane from any of the others that were able to be crossed, there was a disturbance within the fabric that could not be hidden. When the earth below his feet began to exhibit such signs as being annhilated, he deliberately fell backwards with a sliding motion, hands outstretched as if preparing to embrace the little tadpole.
Of course, as the last attempt was, the child would realize just how much he erred when he awoke later.
Fire.
That one word, that one spoken comment revealed how doomed Gabriel M. Crippen had become.
PAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
It was instant as from his chest a massive blast of Lumine-laced power drilled him head-on. His body flew upward from the concussive shot unleashed on his unfortunate being. The lacing would prevent the child from manipulating the blast with any method he had. Everything that was able on his shell would be set ablaze in a torrent of flames. How was this possible?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
His fingers and the chains wrapped around his arm glistened. The strength being radiated would be enough to terrify any native inhabitant, human or otherwise, nearby from coming closer to the area. The essence sphere slowly sunk behind the Marshall and out of sight, vanishing in the output that was being unleashed. A once neutral voice spoke loudly and with conviction to the child right in front of him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Energy cannot be created or destroyed, only converted into another form. While the blast had been intended to cause harm, it was not expected to perform that capacity. As that distraction commenced, the essence sphere had converted into the Marshall's essence and entered his being as a power source. It had worked perfectly considering that the boy did not even question what had occurred to it. Energy it was, but also a sentient force all its own. Willing fusion prevented the backlash an unwilling guest would have done.
Of course, all energy blasts must come to an end as its output finally did allowing the youth to be caught by gravity. Unfortunately for him, Gabriel had yet to finish his assault. As he plummeted back to the ground, the lacing which would prevent the manipulation of the blast outlined his form in a cube-like shape. Shining brightly, the Lumine solidified into the crystal material which was on the Marshall's own form. While he landed on a surface early, the dice continued the descent downward before finally slowing to a stop hovering above the ground.
The crystal radiated softly within the confines of the cube. Bathed within the light, it seemed to be a comfort for the beleaguered one. Of course, that was deceptive as his chi began to be drained from his system. The more he used, the greater the drain. Gabriel reappeared with the Little Energy Ball that Could, which had shaped itself into a raspberry face.
The brink.
He was pierced, but not without some conveyance of his stringed sentience, infallible to him as it was more instinctive. The radiance of harmonious light seemed to bathe over him, the speed pushing a different and rather direct momentum over him. It wasn't so much felt physically as it triggered something within.
'Exertion of forces or to commandeer them means the assistance of them. Waves are layered, understand the layering and the consciousness that blocks their ties, and forces are at your fingertips.'
Gabriel stood amidst the white nothing that was the sub-level of Planet Siglur. Nothing around, only the surface world up gave opacity to colors other than white.
'Light is but the perpetuation of its raw, having several sets. Illumination, heat, growth, and time. You can imagine the same for the reverse. What makes it pure is that it moves in one direction, its flawed in this outlet. You should remember.'
Breaking it, the child acted like a sponge to feed his spiritual raw of chi, acting as a conduit for the attack to then pass through. His insides weren't like that of an average person. Inside of himself, the center was found, the gravitation of this spiritual inner-sanctum did the light seem to travel until it met the end of an endless epic. A beacon was only as good as the distance it traveled, Gabriel's sentience then gave him that key, and cutting off the sequence to the material on the Marshall's attire. As for the cube, it met with something of the best means of reflection.
His skin began to take on a coating, a material of which young Gabriel crafted in glass. Tiny, but shown as it camoflauged to his skin pigment, the sparkles and glistening of his form were enough at the fluctuation of the cube. His skin respectively bounced the light back towards, the cube as by means of thwarting the radiance. All the while holding his hand, to form what his means of dismembering bonds.
The extension of his palm imbued that which was essence reminiscent of Galforge, the tyrant Garth. While there was something in his hand, there wasn't. There was a force that wasn't a true force, but it appeared in this form until it connected with a conflicting force. One would wonder, but the release did the justice alone.
'Nu Embrath...Vois!'
Upon connected with the cube, it lacerated the forces tied over each other. Much like cutting strings plucked on a harp, the means of which he chose we of an assisted manner. He stood with the realization that this was indeed Lumine. The perpetuation of it extending from the martial was dangerous, and without questioning this the first time he regretted as such. He began to gather it was all about proposal of expending one's self. Folding his arm for a moment, he had grasped this but it was unlikely.
He looked upon the Marshall and his energy ball...thing. Gabriel's shirt had been singed and burned away. Nothing but his meek and weakly established form was shown. His skin was that of a soft amber, and lined with textures of Nu Envoice across his body. Markings, arts of several different tribes, tutors, and masters. The light on his stomach was reminiscent of the untouchable center.
Turning his back to the Marshal, he extended a quick grafting essence that folded over and then resolving his clothing, untarnished and restored. Relinquishing his physical singes and the harriers from the light's wrath, he tilted his head before turning around. A palm to the marshal, his thoughts were with him. Gabriel vibrated something else, the middle ground, that which strayed in between perpetual shadow and unyielding light. Crossing them both, a sphere of Lumine flew and then Umbra, in between the graced sir, forming a gateway with unwavering force.
He understood what Asurya and Authius meant now. This was the gate to Oblivion, for what it was worth the long since forgotten Abyssal Plane had fallen short of the mark, it's lord long since retired. As the space between folded over, growth and decay finding themselves eating at the seems. The arms of those that knew only one thing, pain, were filled with apathy wanting more, as that was what escape meant. Nothing.
'Grandfather weeps...for my awakening has all but begun...'
Moving his hand, he folded the gate over itself turning it into a sphere-like shape, surrounding the walls with the same force that would've made it a gate. No longer linear, the pulling into nothing would never come, creating a space in where he was torn between entering Oblivion's door, into it's door, into it's door. Looped indefinitely.
