Riku's Concern (or lack thereof) for Kairi

In Neverland, it seems like Riku still cares about Kairi's safety. However, once we're in Hollow Bastion, he just hands her over to Maleficent.

If Riku did not bargain with Ansem SoD, would he have quarreled with Maleficent about Kairi's safety? By this I mean, if Maleficent told Riku that Kairi was going to take her place as one of the captive PoH, would Riku have allowed it?

I just take it to mean that by that point Riku has completed his fall into douchehood.

Riku probably trusted Mali a bit to not destroy her too.

Kairi was no use to Maleficent as an empty husk but her body was still needed in tact to house her heart and Maleficent needed Riku to trust her. How much Riku really trusted Maleficent is debatable, they both were crucial to her plans so it wouldn't have been beneficial for her to harm them in any way. While she certainly was twisting things around for her own ends, the results would have been keeping up her end of the bargain. Maleficent just need Kairi to complete the Keyhole and summon the DtD, which seemed to happen automatically, then the PoH would have been no use to her any longer.
