Riku only lost his body to darkness which doesn't make a nobody. You must lose you heart.
In this cutscene in KH Final Mix KingMickey explains Riku's situation before the door is closed at the end of KH1.

Darkness never over came his heart, but it did use body. Once Xehanort's heartless was defeated Riku's body returned.

It doesn't change the fact that becoming a Heartless/Heartless+Nobody doesn't kill you.
The Soul leaving the Body would, but as far as we know, that doesn't happen even after the Nobody is beaten before the Heartless; both just fade into Darkness.
