I think the next game will be composed of two things plot-wise.

1. It'll detail Sora's journey to find Aqua, Ven, and Terra.

And two this is the less obvious of the matter. I think the final chapter of Kingdom Hearts will show Sora, Riku, and Mickey, and possibly TAV as well, going back in time to the Era of the Keyblade Wars, and thats probably where Master Xehnorts schemes will reach their climax. It'll end with them finally defeating Xehanort alongside an army of keybladers. And them finally putting the Keyblades to rest.

We'll learn that the Keyblade Graveyard isn't a Graveyard at all, but a memorial for when Good finally triumphed over evil.

And the reasoning behind all this?

The fact that Sora and Riku's keyblade were already at the Graveyard by the time Birth By Sleep took place, and the fact that their Keyblades were in the Center of the Graveyard would imply that they took the most important part in the Keyblade War.

Thus the Kingdom Hearts-verse would be in a loop with all the events taking place all over again.

o i hope not i have enofe of games doing time paradox its so confusing if you think about it and it just makes the story one big gape with no real ending its a half disney game i want a hapy ever after ending with maybe one plot twist at the end

I hope this theory isn't true, but with the "Silver Headed Male", I don't think people can flame this.

Actually, on second thought, I don't think Time Travel would be that bad. Only if it was a one time thing I guess.

Edit: Though, I'm not saying SHM is Riku. I personally believe it is Xehanort. Either after KH2 or during BbS.

I suppose that'd be possible.

Also dont get it wrong, I'm not by any means suggesting that time travel would become a staple for the Kingdom Hearts-verse, it'd only be a one time trip to the past.

I thought "The Gathering" was non-canon but like the LS battle was supposed to be looks like this could be true. But a time paradox seems a bit much.

Time paradox doesn't have to neccessarily occur, remember thats just one theory of time travel. The other being parallel worlds.

Suppose another parallel world emerges, once Xehanort is defeated for good.

I like the idea but it would be complicated. The reason cause you have coded which takes place in the data world and i believe the final episode for that is going to tell us at the end what the third kh is about. And then if they do go back in time don't you think if they saw themselves it would create some kind of paradox or it would create an alternate timeline in which riku and sora never met kairi, which would bring forth a Kh 4 and would make the storyline much more complicated with the whole time loop thing and everything.

Probably the plot could be Sora just going into data world himself and help data Sora to find and free those tormented souls.

Why would they meet themselves if they went back to the Era of the Keyblade Wars? They'd go hundreds of years into the past, before any of them even existed.

Time travel is intresting, but it will create some may time loop holes. Sora does not have to time travel to save at least Ven and Aqua. To save Aqua and Ansem the Wise, Sora would have to travel to the Dark Realm to free them. To save Ven, Sora would have to travel to Castle Oblivion and transfer Ven's heart back into Ven's body. Saving Terra is an another story, since we do not know if Xehanort or Terra is even alive after Xehanort's Heartless and Xemnas were destroyed by Sora. Also, if Ven was brought back, wouldn't Vanitas be brought back? Intresting, intresting...

I'm sure that'll happen in the first half of the game, but the second half would probably venture into the past to stop Xehanorts masterstroke.

I doubt Vanitas would have to be resurrected, he was already destroyed anyway. They'll have to find some way to complete the missing piece of Ven's hearts. Perhaps the Princesses of Heart would be able to help out in that effort.

OR but this is just a thought it doesn't have to be about time traveling at all.

I can tell you this theory is wrong, because I already read spoilers for Birth By Sleep. Unless I was misinformed with the spoilers, this won't happen.

You don't get it. When Ven is awakened, so will Vanitas. Vanitas is like Ven's other half. Ven went to sleep because Vanitas got destroyed. My guess is that Ven and Vanitas will be awakened. But then eventually Ven will absorb Vanitas, causing Ven to have darkness as part of his power. But, he will be able to control hisdarkness like Riku learned how. It makes the most sense to me.
