ok this is my first ever Fan Fiction, I'm going to try this b/c RPing is slowing down and b/c of my schedule I miss alot so, i'm going to see if this works.
To help some people out, The Abhorsen Trilogy is my favorite trilogy of all time and I really love it and b/c I have read all three 7 times I know the books very well and so I think I want to try to write a fanfic. The books are Sabriel, Lirael, and Abhorsen by Garth Nix. Check them out. They are very good.

Ook so i'm going to write chapter one and if anyone can help me out and give ma pionters, go right ahead.

Nothing Stays Dead Forever

Prologue
As a bell begins to fade another sound is heard, it is the sound of the first gate stopping telling that something was coming through, something no longer living. The bell ringer is a man about 47, but looks to be 52 as the river of death takes the color from him leaving his soul behind for he is to strong for the current.
As the sound of the first gate begins again he puts the bell away and pulls out another and when he sees his target come closer he rings it. But the bell has no effect the creature is too strong, even for a necromencer so skilled. The creature just keeps coming forward and as the 47 year old tries to run away the creature grabs his shirt and lifts him off the ground.
"Thanks you so much for this wonderful opportunity to come back to the living." The creature says and soon disappears as he absorbs into the mans body. The man now walks back to his body in the living world half man half creature.
The creature was no ordinary dead being; he was also a free magic one. He was a left over from the making of the Charter at the beginning of time and was dangerous to all living things. He was trapped within the 8th gate to be there forever, unless someone found the spell to release him from his cage. But only a selfish man would do such a think, but some are more power hungry than most.

Chapter 1

A girl wakes from a nightmare she had been having lately. She looks about the age of 19 with thick black hair falling over her face. The dreams have been coming more frequently than ever and she didn't know what they meant.

She slowly crawls out of bed and as she moves toward the wash basin the charter marks on the wall follow her giving her light. She dries her face and the picks up her mechanical hand, and clicks it into place. She would never forget how she got it and she was pretty certain some of the memories would stick with her forever.

She brings her arm close to herself and thinks of the Disreputable Dog, her dearest friend since she first became a Librarian till she defeated the Destroyer.
"Oh Dog." She said as a tear fell down her face that was unnaturally white.

The girls name was Lirael, and she had seen and done much in these last five years. She had become a Librarian without haveing the "sight" of a Clayr, saved the glacier many times from paralle and as she left to fulfill a vision seen by the Clayr she saves the world and finds her true family.

Lireal is now the Abhorsen-in-Waiting and has to follow Sabriel the Abhorsen, the one who uses the seven bells of the necromencer to put the dead to rest rather than bring to life, around the Old Kingdom helping to put the dead to rest that terrorize villages. But as the dreams grew more frequent she knows that this, almost like calm, can't last forever.

well that is all I can think of for tonight, so please tell me wat you think and if you like it I'll keep going and will finish the story for all who care. Thanks so much for reading and I hope you really did like it...PS rate it too and lots of comments, thanks again[/CENTER]

Ah, I think you meant prologue, and got confused with Epilogues. Prologues come before the book, and epilogues chronicle the events that happen after the main scheme of the story.

Chapter 2

Lireal came down, later for breakfast, yet again. As she ran down the stairs a Charter sending helped her put on a robe and brushes her wet hair.
"Oh leave me alone" She said turning and taking the brush from the sending. But the sending, thinking it knew all, fought for the brush all the way down the stairs.

As Lirael reached the bottom of the steps she heard a throat clear behind her and she dropped the brush and turned quickly. Sitting at the front of the table Sabriel was giving her a stern face. The sending picked the brush up and finished brushing her hair.

Lireal walked over and sat in the chair to the right of Sabriel.
"I'm sorry I'm late again...I really don't mean too...I just had the dream again and...." Lireal tried to explain.
"No excuses, as part of your training we have set times to be ready and you have you be ready for the worse. Getting up may not seem so big, but on the road it could mean life or death,*sigh* now that you are here we can start breakfast." Sabriel turned to a sending and nodded and it disappeared into the kitchen.

"Now tell me about this dream you keep having?" Sabriel said turning to Lireal.
" I'm not sure what it is, but it started out about 2 months ago, but lately it as come more often, almost every night. In the dream I see the river of death and I see the Disreputable Dog giving me a sad face then the scene turns to a creature that looked like a Shadow Hand, but it isn't just no ordinary Shadow Hand. I felt the power of it just with in my dream. It is like Dog is trying to tell me something." Lireal looking at the oatmeal just set in front of her.

"Lireal you know as much as I do that Dog is dead, and isn't coming back. She left and went to through death and went through the 9th gate."
"But when she looked up in the 9th gate with me, it wasn't her turn to go, maybe there is a chance."
"Lireal, lets not talk about she lets figure out what the other part of the dream is, the creature you see, what does it look like?"
"It looked like any old Shadow Hand but its eyes and mouth were so much darker in red and the power I felt was great. The last time I felt something so much power was fighting The Destroying. It didn't have that much, but maybe 3/4 of the power."
"Well we will have to look into this after lunch today, for now eat up and we can start your training yet again on Swordsmanship, and hopefully archery."

Lireal looked down at her bowl and began to eat slowly with dread for swords b/c she hadn't learned much from the Clayr Glacier and just thinking about training again made every muscle in her body hurt.

Please all who read comment on it, I love to hear what you ahve to say..and yes the beginning might take awhile to get good, but I promise there will be lots of action and adventure, so keep comeing back to look for updates...and don't forget to COMMENT please....and will someone please b/c I really hate to dbl. post..thanks

Nothing Stays Dead Forever

Chapter 3

Lirael blocked another shot from Sabriel as her sword came crashing down. Lirael back way with yet another jarred arm.

"You hit so hard." Lireal said holding her arm.

"No you just need to learn how to absorb the shock." Sabriel said smiling as she let a charter spell flow into Lirael's arm. Lirael felt the spell wrap around her arm and soon the pain was gone, almost like a memory you can just barely remember.

“How about we end swords there for today, lets move on to archery." Sabriel said standing up straight.

Lireal ran to her room and changed out of her armor and set it by the facet to be washed later that night. She threw on some old pants and a white undershirt and grabbed the bow and arrows from the sending at the door, saying thanks as she ran by.

"Ok I'm no longer going to give you directions today, time to see what you are made of." Sabriel said smiling to Lirael. Lirael nodded and strung an arrow, she brought it up and pulled the string back and aimed for the third to farthest way target. She felt for the wind and timed the pattern and as she felt the shot she let it fly. It hit its mark, a few inches from dead center.

"Nice shot, I can't do that with a bow, maybe I should teach you some arrow spells and make a charter bow instead of teaching you sword," Sabriel said seeing the sparkle in Lirael's eye she continued. "But it is good to have a wide range in training. Now turn around and shoot again for the next farther one away."

Lireal strung another arrow and felt for the shot again and as she let the arrow fly she heard a long slow whistle with a hint of charter magic in it. She turned and looked up and watched a paperwing land on the platform on the house. A guy step out of it and waved down at them. Lirael smiled and waved back, yelling with joy, "Sameth!"

"...then Ellimere tripped on the stairs as she went up to the platform falling flat on her face, it was the funniest thing ever." Sameth said as they all sat down to eat. He had been telling them of all the events that had being going on and as he sat down he realized how hungry he was.

"So what brings you all the way over here, Sameth?" Sabriel asked

"Well Nick sent me a letter, and this time can you believe it, man made paper. I guess he finally believes in magic after all...hahaha. Anyway he said in the letter that it felt wrong to him when he left the wall area and decided that he couldn't stay away any longer. I was heading that direction and I thought why not check up on how the Abhorsen-In-Waiting is doing." Sam replied

"I'm doing fine thank you, I think I might even be back by the end of the month, maybe sooner, who knows." Lireal said with a smile.

“She does learn faster than you ever did, haha, I'm kidding... Oh I forgot to ask, did you figure out how to make the armor yet? It would be great to have some new ones, the old ones are nice, but they are old." Sabriel asked as her grilled salmon was laid in front of her.

"I just about have it, but I have better news that you will love mom." Sameth said with a big smile with a piece of salmon in his mouth. "He just showed up one day at the castle and he just had a fit about you teaching Lirael..."

As if on cue the little white cat came prancing in.
"I hate those sending, making me take baths. Ahhh yes, how are you...yad yad yad, don't need details." Mogget looked around at everyone. He had changed at least in looks. He no longer had on a red collar with a small bell, and he was yet maybe a bit bigger.

"Right, I didn't only come back to teach Lireal, but there is something going on, ever since the Destroyer was defeated there as been something brewing. Don't know but I know it isn't right. We need to talk after lunch is over, as for now I’m starved." The little white cat said as he dug into the flesh of the fish as soon as the sending put it in front of him.

"Well Mogget you haven't changed one bit." Sabriel laughed as she cut another piece of salmon.

COMMENTS PLEASE!!! I love to hear what you have to say even if it is bad:) thanks to much for reading stay in with it to read the next chapter comeing soon....

Chapter 4

After lunch, Lireal went off to practice more sword and Sameth took a nap before heading off, Mogget and Sabriel talked in the study.

“Mogget I think I know why your here, it's about Lireal isn't it?" Sabriel asked Mogget as he jumped on to the table.

"I'm afraid so....Did Lireal ever tell you what her mother wanted to tell her?" Mogget asked looking around at all the books noticing a few new ones.

"Why yes, she said her mother had seen her at 18 and wanted to tell her she loved her...or something like that."

"Yes, but that wasn't all she told me, I didn't want to upset Lirael at the time and tell her everything that her mother said. Yes I know I never had feelings before but I just couldn't put more pressure on her."

"I understand, but please tell me what everything she saw before she left was?"

"She said she seen something from the past, something that was a left over like myself. But had more power, it wasn't clear to me than what she was talking about, but it makes since now. Lirael was meant to meet the Disreputable Dog and everything else. This thing is kind of like Kerrigor, but with better planning, with more power, and no body in the living to kill to get rid of it. Yes the Destroyer may have been powerful, but Lireal could see in the past and found out the Destroyers weakness, but the new creature goes so far back in time she can only stop her by going to her death, all the way threw the 9th gate. For the creatures soul was trapped in death in the 8th gate as her body was sent to the other side. And you wont believe who this creature is...it...is...the Disreputable Dog...herself."

"No that can't be, I never knew her but Lireal talked about her so much I feel like I do. It can't be, you’re mistaken...... Wait! Wasn’t she Kibeth in the end before she left?"

"Look at what the bell does? After a person or dead being is commanded by Saraneth, you use Kibeth to send them to there final rest. Did you every wonder what the disreputable stood for. She turned her back on her duties to help the world to better help herself, and for her punishment to be forced into death. Then Lireal made that dog, but somehow she only got the good-side, or...never mind.... Might I ask another question? Has Lireal had anything out of the ordinary happen to her lately?"

"Well...she has been having dreams I believe of the creature you talk about, and of Dog trying to worn her. Why, does this mean something?"

"It means that Kibeth, or what ever she calls herself now after all these years, is trying to reach Lireal. I believe the creature has two personalities now, one the Disreputable Dog, who is trying to warn Lirael that she needs to be ready soon and the other personality, is the evil side."

"Well what was it in at the end of the vision that her mother saw?"

"She saw Lirael in the 9th gate going up to her final rest with Dog."

Mogget jumped off the table and started to stroll back and forth in front of the fire. Sabriel sat down in the armchair behind the desk and around the corner, Lirael stood with her mouth a gape hearing everything, as she had come to ask Sabriel for help on a sword move.

Comments please I really want to now all your opinions in this, don't care if they are bad, and if you like it, I hope you can't wait for the next chapter.....ooo also please rate it...I would really appreciate that, thanks

Chapter 5

Lireal ran up to her room crying dropping her sword on the floor she laid crying into her pillow. She felt betrayed, by not only Mogget, or Sabriel, but by the Disreputable Dog herself. She was getting desperate at the options she had. She could go talk to Sabriel and say she listened in on a conversation she shouldn't and get in big trouble, or..... Lirael looked over at the surcoat she had worn almost a year ago and thought, she could go with Sameth to meet Nick, and...and...

"Oh what do I do?" Lireal said wiping a tear away as she walked over to the fire in her room.

Why did Mogget not tell Me., it was my Abhorsen-in-Waiting responsibility to defeat the dead and free-magic creatures, but maybe he was right...I was under a lot of stress and had a bigger thing to handle than something later in the future. That’s it, I'm going to go with Sameth, but I'm going to talk to Sabriel first, and see what I can get out her.

Lirael walked down the stairs and saw Mogget and Sabriel talking again at the talk, and as she reached the bottom they both looked over at her. Before either of them could speak Lirael spoke first.

"I decide I’m going with Sameth to meet Nick, I also want you to know that I heard everything, you two where talking about in the study. But after hearing it I made my decision and this is it." Lireal said taken off the coat she had on and showed them she was in full armor, surcoat, bells, and Nehima. "I've talked to Sam and he believes it is for the better, that I finish my training on my own. It is the only way I will learn more than I already have."

"I understand." Mogget said looking at Lirael, "That’s how Sabriel learned so much in her life and it is time for you to learn to. It is your destiny written in the Living and in Death that you will save the world yet again, but you will meet again in Belisaere by the end of the month or earlier...and Sameth and Nick will go as well. Sameth needs more courage and Nick needs to be come more acquainted with the Old Kingdom."

Sabriel stood up and walked over to Lirael, they were about the same height and both had stern faces on as they looked at each other. Sabriel face lightened up and she gave Lirael a big hug.

"I can't wait to see you again at the end of the month. I wish you a safe journey on your travels and don't get into too much trouble or I will go after you." Sabriel leaned back and smiled at Lirael and could her father in her eyes and knew everything was fine.

Later that after noon Mogget sat on Sabriel's shoulders, which was waving good-bye.
"I'll never see her again will I?" Sabriel asked Mogget on the way to dinner. Mogget shook his head in dismay for he, who knew everything did not know this question.

COMMENT LOTS AND RATE PLEASE....I love to hear what you say....thanks a lot, and I hope you can't wait for next chapter.

Chapter 6

Lireal looked down from the paperwing as it flew miles above the ground and sighed at how beautiful the Old Kingdom really was.

"You have gotten a lot better at whistling the marks." Lireal finally said trying to end the silence.

"Thanks, all it didn't take long, most of the marks at built into the paperwing itself." Sameth said blowing anther long clear note calming up a southern wind the help make the go fast.

"What is life really like outside of walls, it’s been so long." Lireal said looking at the world below again.

"Not much has changed Lirael, Ellimere can't get over that she just met you and couldn't meet you better same with dad, I mean Touchstone, or what ever it’s really name is. We really don't call him by his really name; I guess it will always be Touchstone...hahaha"

As they came closer to the Wall you could see it snake down the land like the back of a dragon. It was magnificent; accept for the hole at the far end. A hole made the year before my Hedge bring the two hemispheres in to Ancelstierre where magic could only reach as far as the wind blow across the wall. They came to a landing on a hill next to the crossing point. It was recently made into a small hanger for any paperwings that where flown in by the royal family needing to talk with the Ancelstierre politics. As they reached the gate they were both greeted friendly by Major Greene.

"Nice to see you again Sameth, and my, has it already been a year since we last met in the time of parall." Greene shook both there hands and noticed the bells on Lireal." This isn't another one of those times again is it?"

Lireal but her coat around her closer to hide the bells. "No Sabriel and I decided that it was time for me to learn everything else on my own and it turns out I must do all that with Sameth here and Nick who should be coming soon..yes?"

"Why of course he is in my dugout if you will please step through the gate and here we are. Nick there seems to be someone here for you!!" The Major screamed down into the office.

Nick came out with the sun glaring off his glasses and with only two bags to carry with him. He saw Sam and went over to greet them both.

"Wow Sam you sure have changed, how did your arms get so big?haha and...and...Lirael you look quite charming..." Nick said shaking Sameth's hand them bowing to Lirael and catching a glimpse of the bells under her coat. “Are those bells?"

Lirael saw her coat had come undone a little again and she tide the coat tighter." yes they are and if you don't mind I can talk about them later on our trip."

"And trust me we will have lots of time to discuss on our long journey. Anyway I expected to see scientific tools with you...where are they." Sameth said wish shock.

"No need for them when you have Charter Magic on your side." Nick replied.

Both Lirael and Sam looked at each other in surprise for Nick had always been scientific and never believed it magic until this very moment they never knew Nick finally believed.

As the three talked saying good-bye to Major Greene and heading back to the paperwing hanger to set off something was brewing, but not where they were. all the way across the country in the Clayr's Glacier a storm is taking form, but not just any storm, it was a magic made storm and what was making way Kibeth herself....

COMMENT LOTS PLEASE…love to hear from you thanks lots

Nothing Stays Dead Forever

Chapter 7

As they flew on the sky seemed like an endless blue that would never stop, but as the continued the sky out of no where went dark more of a shadow over them. Lirael looked up and was in shock. For above them was a flock of Gore Crows, something she had only encountered a year ago and on a trip with Sabriel to stop a small necromencer terrorizing a new village by the wall. The refuges where given land after Sameth made the packed and as a gift they were in fact given land and had volunteer charter mages live with them to protect them.

"Gore Crows!!" Lirael shouted as three came shooting down at them.

Sameth wasn't ready and he couldn't call up a wind in time. Lirael pull a sword out and hit two but missed the last one and it went through the right wind. The paperwing began to fail in flight and if it was damaged like that again there would be no way for them to live the crash. Lireal fought with the coat and as three more fell it flew off and she pulled out Saraneth and gave it a quick well performed ring with a flip of her wrist. The gore crows stopped instantly and as she put that way she pulled out Kibeth and gave it an eight figured ring. It made Nick tap his foot for some odd reason to him, but soon the souls of the gore crows where in death and on there way to their final rest in the 9th gate.

Nick looked up and saw the bone dead corpses of the birds start to fall and had a flash back of that terrible night. He screamed as the bodies fell all around his, and as they sat in the sun they final disappeared.

"Nick you ok?" Lireal asked putting her bell away.

Nick looked up and shook his head," I'm fine, just I'm still getting over everything all this time. I'll be fine." Nick took in a big breath and laid back on the paperwings side, but as soon as he did the paperwing lost control of the air flow. The gore crows had made a good sized hole and the air flow wasn't catching right on that wing.

"Everyone hold on the paperwing will now what to do." Sameth said grabbing on to the sides of the craft. Lirael look at him and nodded but with a little fear in her eyes, but she grab too. She looked across and saw Nick grab on with no hesitation.

As they fell the paperwing found some air to catch and they slowly fell to the ground, but yet with a heavy bump, but that wasn't the hard part as the hit the ground they came to a hill and began to slid down it. As they went flying by the trees they had to coordinate their movements to make the craft move, but as they began to get tired, they lost concentration and smacked headlong into a tree. They all blacked out and as night fell they were unprotected in a dark much wooded forest.

COMMENTS PLEASE...I love to hear from you and thank you so much for the comments rikuishot333, you have been lots of help so have you Prince_of_Light, You are the ones that have made me keep going...
