The Beast of Silent Springs

Plot

There was an ancient tale describing the story of how, long ago, a beast roamed the Earth brought up from the depths of Purgatory in order to punish the human race for betraying the gods above. The beast spilled the blood of thousands and eventually moved towards the hamlet known as Silent Springs. Here, refugees gathered to fight against the abomination and regain control of their land. A priest known as Geoffrey The Abolisher gave aid to the townspeople when the beast arrived. Many were slaughtered in the struggle, but the beast was sealed in the bottom of Charybdis Lake, Geoffrey being dragged along with it. Ever since, there has been a nightly ritual where one with blood coursing through there veins must be sacrificed in order to give strength to Geoffrey The Abolisher.

Silent Springs since then has been a fairly known tourist attraction, bringing in tourists to keep the local economy stable. Soon, rumor spread of the ritual and the town eventually couldn't continue as a tourist site. Eventually, the townspeople themselves were killing one another to continue the ritual. It soon reached the point where the beast was unleashed and now feasts upon the flesh of the innocent.

Not aware of the situation, you, a tourist-- or someone seeking residence in the town-- are seeking to stay in the city. As the beast runs free, it is now up to you to either take arms like Geoffrey and the townspeople did long ago, or run in fear and let the beast continue to run free.

Name: David Yarter
Age: 29
Gender: Male
Appearance: 6'8", a not-too muscular but athletic body, short, dark-blond hair, almost brown, blue eyes, five'o'clock shadow, usually wearing a black coat, grey hood, black boots, and black jeans, but was wearing a long, white wife beater, his jeans and Nike shoes as his evening clothes.
Personality: Passionate, kind and full of suppressed anger. He is known to get drunk and if the right thing happens, he can get depressed. He cares about those around him and is willing to cooperate with whoever he needs to in order to survive.
Equipment: A dull army knife he's had since he was a child, and a golden "brass" knuckle he was given by a gang member who was his childhood friend.
Biography: David lived in a large suburb, where the "Beast" murders happened. Over a dozen vicims were claimed, including Jack Rion, his friend and partner. Dave brought justice to the murderer and quit his job, looking for new beginnings in the town of Silent Springs.

Okay, so I may have basically took my character from a story I was working on and fleshed him out. I haven't done this before, but it'll fit the story just fine, I can work on the character in one book and his actions in the other, maybe a mix of both, I don't know.

Easygoing, if a bit egotistical, Luke is a driven individual who's greatest ambition is to be a famous film-maker. He's loyal to a degree, but willing to sacrifice anything to attain his dreams, even if that means compromising his relationships in the process. He's extremely protective of his little sister however, and does his best to keep her safe and make sure she makes the right choices.

:Biography:

Luke was never particularly talented, he found sports to be too physically exhausting and tedious, studies to be boring and a waste of his time, and he wasn't the most creative person around. He struggled through all through his high school career, not because the work was difficult, but rather because he lacked motivation, he wasn't the most popular kid, but he wasn't unpopular either. Unfortunately, it was a trait that he passed on to his sister, and, though he tried to change his ways and set a better example, It seemed that he would be doomed to a life of complete averageness. But then he made his first film.
It had all started with a school project, the class had been instructed to record the world around them, anything they found interesting or unique, and capture it in it's best light. With that assignment, he felt something new, something profound. For the first time in his life, Luke was inspired, he was driven to do something and he excelled in it, so much so that the film was chosen to be presented to the entire school. After that came massive popularity, everyone knew him, and everyone acted like his best friend. He fell in love with the experience, and since then, has been driven towards one singular goal, to become a world renowned film-maker.
Since then, he's made more films that have reached a decent amount of popularity on youtube and the likes, but he's still searching for his coupe de grace, the film that will make him a household name. He's searched, and searched, but just can't seem to find the spark, the idea that will ignite his wildfire career. Or at least, he couldn't, until he heard of Silent Springs. The legends fascinated him, and after spending some time getting his facts straight, he was all set to grab his camera and rush off. Unfortunately, his little sister seemed to like his plan a little too much, and after whining and crying to their parents, they demanded he bring her with him. And so it was that Luke and Ari rushed off to Silent Springs, and the nightmare that awaited them.​

Appearance:
Will stands at roughly six feet and two inches with his weight a little higher than his height should allow. But that's because he has spent the years working on various farms, typically around horses. Because of how he has always worked outside his body is tanned perfectly, unless he takes off his shirt. While his body is sculpted rather nicely it can be noted that his arms are a shade darker than the rest of his body. That's because he tends to work with his shirt on until the sweat makes it too unbearable.

As for his clothes, he doesn't wear much. He simply wears a pair of blue jeans with a white t-shirt tucked in and held with a wide leather belt. It should be noted that on the right hip of his belt is a long sheath containing a long hunting knife. Normally this would be considered illegal, but he's from a place where people are more lenient about bladed weapons because they know that most of the guys like to hunt in their spare time. Other than that he wears a pair of black work boots made of leather for both protection and comfort, even if they do weight over five pounds together.

Personality:
If nothing else, he enjoys a good scrap. To him there are few things greater than spending time away from his family and having fun with his friends from work. But that's not to say that he doesn't enjoy time with his family. That's actually part of what he enjoys more than hanging out with his friends. He enjoys spending the day outside with his wife and child despite the fact that he's normally tired from work. But when neither of these options are available he will normally just sit around and drink a nice cold beer to relax after a hard day's work.

Saying all of this should lead to the assumption that he can be rather protective of his family. He won't stand for anyone to bad-mouth them and is quick to action should he catch anyone doing this. The way that he sees it is that if he doesn't do it to someone, they shouldn't do it to him. Because of this he can be fairly easy to get along with, so long as vast intelligence isn't really required. He only has an education the got him out of high school, but that doesn't bother him. He's just happy to lead the type of life that he had so far.

William was born in the American South, so it should be obvious that he wasn't born in the lap of luxury. Instead he was born into a family that simply lived by the day and could provide an adequate amount for their children. For years life was just life. But that changed shortly after William got into high school. That's when he met a girl that seemed to be perfect for him. They started talking for a while before finally getting together at the start of their second year. At this point they were inseparable.

The two got married as soon as they graduated from high school. This fact was nothing special because it has been known to happen quite often in their world. But that doesn't get rid of the fact that many of these types of people tend to lead hard lives. This wasn't really the case for William. That's simply because he soon got a job working construction with a local company. The hours were long and the work hard, but it made Will happy. He was able to provide for his wife who soon said that she was pregnant. This was nearly five years after they got married.

Now that he has a daughter that he needs to help raise, Will took his work to the next level. He started working harder and faster until it finally got him noticed. He was offered a position for being a manager at a new site located some place call Silent Springs. He's heard of the place and that it was a good place to go with a family, but he didn't know that it was also a good place to raise a family. He quickly decided to take the job with the pay raise and set off for Silent Springs to find a place that he could move his family to.

Eh, I guess as long as they are normal, domestic animals. Can't have anything that a normal domestic animal has, plain and simple.

You might want to reconsider that last bit of animals. Around where I live, it's kinda common to have dogs that are half wolf. I know because I see them listed quite a bit in the local newspaper.
