DS is white(default), smaller, brighter screen, different brightness settings, and has a thicker stylus.

Personally, I prefer the DS (original) over the Lite. I dont know why.

yeah besides the obvious smaller size its stylus has a pad and the mike is right on the hinge so you can speak/blow into it easier.
