In a Game That Treads
the fine lines between life and death
How Can You Expect
mercy?

Deep within the crowded streets of New York City, far beneath the sky scrapers and bustling people, there is a secret underground which holds one of the worlds most deadly games. Every 5 years, young adults from around the globe are randomly selected to compete in the Mercy Game. These players had been monitored for years, silently watched, being noted on their strengths and flaws. Once they receive their letter, there is no backing out...

The Mercy Game had been outlawed for its high death rate, ultimate destructive consequences, and its sheer brutality after the very first run, where every player was mercilessly slaughtered and several buldings were left in ruins. It's now forced to take place in total secret...but why would anyone want to risk their life in this game anyways? For $100,000,000

The Mercy Game follows the simple guidlines of survival and is overseen by the President. At the start of the game, each player receives 2 tokens, and throughout the game, opportunities to earn and steal more tokens become available. The last player alive, or the one with the most tokens, is the winner. But not only are players competing against each other, they must outrun the assassin officers, whose job is to kill the players before they can win. If no player wins, the officers receive the prize. Players compete in tasks around New York in hopes of earning more tokens and killing the other players.

As players, you can form any alliance you wish, but remember that nobody can really be trusted. As officers, you are only concerned with taking out players. The President hands out clues and assigns tasks, and is the most neutral person in the game. The only real rule, is that nobody outside of the underground can know about the Mercy Game. If word is slipped by either player or officer, they are "disqualified".

Rules:
No god moding
No one hit kills, power playing, or killing without permission
Cussing is allowed within moderation
Romance is fine
Try to be literate
Multiple characters are allowed

The Mercy Game... Isn't that an actual game? I remember playing it once. And always won. Haha. Is this based on that?

Name: Lazerith Kurando

Age: 28

Gender: Male

Country: Japan by birth

Posistion: Officer

Appearance: Pretty much this guy.

Bio:

Early

Lazerith was born in the capital of Japan known as Tokyo to a Japanese father and an American mother. His mother was there only after getting out of the military and deciding to live as a reagular civilian in the nation of Japan. She had met Lazerith's father inside of a Panchinko Parlor that was under the rule of the Yakuza. The two almost instantly fell for one another in that single instant and started to see one another. Four years later the two gave birth to the boy named Lazerith Kurando. The two saw the boy in two different ways that were as different as night and day. The woman wanted the child to become something like a normal person while the father saw the boy as a future member of the Yakuza, something that he has been hiding from the woman since they met.

When the boy entered his first day of grade school, he had already been taught how to fight by his mother and father both and was well equiped to handle anything that the other kids might try to do. During that same day, one of the boys in the same class made fun of Lazerith because of the fact that he was only half Japanese and was introduced to the fist of the small five year old. This single act started Lazerith down the path of death and violence through his days of school.

By the time that Lazerith was in his last year of middle school, he had already been established as the person not to mess with. Because of this, people started to alienate him out of fear that he would kill them. This fear was not far from the truth because of the fact that he has already claimed the lives of three grown men that had found out that his father was working for the Yakuza. The alienation also led to Lazerith growing a thought in his mind that made him not talk to anyone and to always carry a knife with him under the precaution that he could be attacked at any moment.

Late

By the time that Lazerith had made his way into high school, he had already raised the number of lives under his control by four, making it seven lives that he had taken. Now was the time that everyone either knew what it is that he's like or had heard rumors about him. This escalated the amount of fear that he was shown and even admiration from those that had wanted to be like him. The few that attempted to have him become the leader of their gangs were either killed or made to never be able to interact with the human world in a normal way.

At the end of his days in school, he had already become an official assassain for the Yakuza, a position once held by his father at one time. On the day that he was out of school he was sent on a mission to kill a local gang leader that had promised to pay the local Yakuza protection money from the police but failed to meet the final deadline. He was able to make quick work of the man and took the money that was promised to his own group and handed it over to his boss. He continued this routine until the day that he grew bored with his job working for the Yakuza and attempted to leave. Naturally, the Yakuza didn't want this to happen and sent out their own assassains to kill Lazerith. This didn't go as they planned because Lazerith sent the heads of the men back to the boss with a bomb planted inside each one.

Now that he has moved to America, he has started to take jobs from the highest payers that could get into contact with him. The most recent was someone called the President that wanted him as a member of this game that used his skills to the fullest. He eagerly accepted the job and saw it as a means to test his skills when he doesn't know what the targets look like while in a crowded area such as New York.

Special Skills:
Abnormal Speed
Heightened Reflexes
Keen Hearing
Enhanced Sight

Weapons: Twin daggers. One with a white blade and the other with a black blade.

Looks quite interesting, mind if I take up the role of an Officer?

Name
Fredrick Barrat (usually just called Fred).

Age
23.

Gender
Male.

Country
England.

Position
Officer.

Appearance
Fredrick has jet black hair with grey streaks that reaches the base of his neck, along with grey eyes. He is rather short for his age, being only around 5 and a half feet with a slightly muscular yet slim build. Clothes-wise, Fred keeps it quite simple- he wears a black, short sleeve shirt with white sleeves that he keeps unbuttoned, along with rather baggy blue jeans.
Because of an accident he had as a small child, Fred always wears a black glove on his right hand that comes all the way up to his elbow. Underneath it, his hand and forearm are severely burnt, showing exactly why he always has the glove on.

Bio
Fredrick lived a relatively normal childhood, doing all the things a child does- learning to walk, talk, first day at school, yadda yadda yadda. However, once he reached the age of five he learned that playing with fire just gets you burned- he learned this after shoving his right hand directly into a boiling sink of water after dropping one of his toys into it, not even realising exactly how painful it was until after the damage was done.
Fred then went the rest of his school life pretty much unscathed, apart from the odd fight or scraped knee here and there. After he came back home from his first day of secondary school, however, his parents were nowhere to be found. He'd simply thought they were out late, until he woke up the next morning and they still weren't back. That's when a call came through from his uncle, telling him they'd both died in a car crash.
Fred then went to live with this uncle of his, who taught him what he then took on as his own philosophy- life's pretty damn fast, so you've gotta slam that pedal down. After thinking this over and over, Fred realised he'd been living his life to slow as it was. He sped up every aspect of himself, whether that be running, cutting out the details in talking, even eating.
The next seven or so years passed like a breeze, and before he knew it Fred was a fully-fledged 18-year-old. He could drive, drink, do all kinds of stuff he couldn't do just a few months before. He spent the next year ignoring every warning that was given to him, taking on his uncle's philosophy with both hands. He wasn't just seizing the day- he was choking it.
That's when the letter came. Fred had had a bit of an easier night than usual, just staying in and watching TV, when he heard the letter-box of his door flap and something landed on the floor. Confused at why post was arriving so late, he went out to examine the letter, and read about something called "The Mercy Game"- which he was now a part of, whether he wanted it or not.
Fred flew out to New York the next morning, and received his first mission the day after he arrived. At first it started off easy, with Fred finding other people playing the game as well and forming small groups with them. But that's when players started vanishing, apparently being killed. Fred was having none of it, and cut off all the ties he had made. Once again, time flew, and Fred found himself the victor and owner of a nice sum of money.
Intrigued by the social aspect of this game, Fred now had a new goal in life. He was gonna find out as much as he could about it with his new funding, and he was gonna do it fast. After a few years, Fred was 21, and he'd only found out a bit more than he knew before. He knew of one last way he could find out, though. And that was by working for The Mercy Game. So, using the last of his money, he journeyed back to New York, and after two years had set himself neatly into his research.

Special Skills
Rather impressive fighting skills.
Strong enough to break someone's arm with one hand, but only if he strains extremely hard.
Very fast, can run at athletic speeds.

Weapons
Fred always carries an Uzi around with him, as well as a sword called a Spatha (see here for more info--> Spatha - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia).

Well, that's gotta be one of te quickest temps I've ever done. XD
