Yeah, you're doing it wrong. A backpack seems to be the "extra" space you have during missions for items you find, so when you're done with the mission and sell your items, you're doing nothing but gaining money. You can have over one million items back at the layer and it wouldn't matter. To put it simply, you get a fresh backpack every mission, and empty it out at the end of every mission.

I did find the backpack epidemic annoying at first (before the expansions) since I wanted to get chests, but I did one of the following:
1. Used a potion from the backpack (not inventory) and got the chest.
2. If the chest contained a potion, I'd toss something (like a blaze shard or something), get the chest, use the potion, repicked up shard.
3. I'd simply toss one of the lesser items, such as an item I know I have 20-extra of back at the layer.

As for me, I'm on Day 153, and loving it all. I was a bit worried about the bosses of this game, as from what I heard of the game they generally seem to be heartless bosses. In the other KH games, I generally disliked Heartless battles, but this game is doing a pretty good job so far; I'm finding the bosses fun, despite their HP since I used my panel system very efficiently.

No, it was because you had to use the R button to go through the tutorial, but I finally got it working!! I am now on day 54

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I just realized something. Days, so far, has the best Disney World interaction since KH1, despite we're supposed to be in "secret" for most of our missions. Roxas seems to incorporate what happens with other character in his talks later with the crew and in his diary. And he thinks deeply about what he sees too. In CoM, none of that existed nor mattered, and seemed mainly filler. In KH2, The Disney worlds meant almost nothing to the main storyline aside from Xaldin's bit, Luxord's bit, and Riku/Xigbar in LoD, which wasn't much altogether.
Say you hate Disney or not, but I like this interaction. It seems more real and connected to the overall story.

Also I'm a bit disappointed about one thing. So far there has been great interaction with each of the Organization members, and has revealed a lot about the KH2 members that we didn't see much of. Except one. Day 155, still no Luxord mission, and he doesn't even appear as an NPC much. There's still a lot of time, but before this game, we knew next to nothing about him that "Gambler of Fate" didn't already tell us. I hope his interactions are fun.

Gotcha. Though if the backpack isn't linked to the main inventory, it makes the limitations seem all the more pointless.

The sheer awesomeness of Uncharted 2 has overshadowed the little enthusiasm I had for this game, thats what >.<

But at least I found someone else who has Days by me. So I can test out multiplayer a bit.

Also, It gives a plot reason as to why the Org had Namine supposedly target Sora's Memories of Kairi specifically, and not just add herself in and erase the rest. Will need to see more of the plot after Day 72 but thus far it makes sense to me
