Re: The ORG
*after everyone forgot this existed*
Chapter 17 - Outnumbered
How much could one do in such a situation? The intimidating and powerful beast staring you down with its claws drawn and teeth flared. Numbers meant nothing when physical strength of the allies combined was nothing compared to the
The claws and teeth here were represented by the impossibly huge sword, which Eastxi hauled around with more precision than someone with normal biceps could ever imitate. The group of Nobodies split apart on the roof in separate directions, avoiding the weapon as it came crashing down on the roof. With a loud crack, the building shook, and the stone it was made of began to split apart. Brixan escaped to higher ground, doing what he could to distance himself from his enemy, on a scaffold next door, and took aim. A barrage of poison-tipped darts zipped through the air; he figured that if one of his toxins could not put him down, a good dozen ought to do the trick.
However, the claymore was heaved out of the ground in a matter of seconds, and swung around in the wielder’s defense. The bolts were knocked out of the way like insects to a flyswatter. Eastxi kept the momentum of the swing, and lead his sword to the platform on which Brixan stood.
Even though he was above, the supports to his hiding place were not, and the flimsy wood and rope structure shattered. Brixan dived off, loading his crossbow as he approached the crumbling building he was on previously. What he came to realize was that he had time; the super-sized claymore was wedged in the wall behind the scaffolding, leaving Eastxi with the task of yanking it out. Xenjin and Xanele leapt into action, capitalizing on his weaponless state.
The darker-haired girl came from above, first. Her lance struck down on the man’s shoulder, and Xenjin could hear him growl in anger as his free hand grasped the end of the pole. With a clench of his fist it splintered into chalky bits of carbon, but the girl carried on, thrusting with the jagged remains of her lance. Eastxi was forced to switch between pulling on the hilt of his sword and avoiding stabs every other second.
Xanele saw that their enemy was stuck and that Xenjin was in trouble, so she went to her aid. The Power Glove lit up as energy channeled itself into her arm, and blasted out in a stream, amplified by the artifact. Xenjin backed off, but Eastxi remained in the same spot, gripping the handle on his blade and bracing himself. He took the bright stream of multi-colored light full-on, and he let out a loud grunt when the attack hit him in the chest. When Xanele let up, his cloak had been slightly roasted and he glared, only angrier as a result. He tugged, and the building off to his right began to crumble, the wide blade starting to budge.
They were running out of time. It was now or never if they were going to incapacitate this guy. Xanele continued her charge, and with her first couple of step forward she somehow used the complex technology on her arm to unleash the chain-bound dagger. She was not even sure how; it must have been some element of willpower. In fact, she had forgotten that the weapon was even loaded in there since the time they discovered it. Her precious glove was just arming her as needed.
Though it was still up to her to guide it, and she had absolutely no experience in that field. The chain went off at a wrong angle at the last second and harmlessly flew over Eastxi’s shoulder, and he, not liking that he was nearly impaled, grabbed the chain with his free hand and gave a great pull. Xanele was lifted off her feet, gave a short scream, and recovered, stumbling, forced forward as she lacked the willpower to discard her treasure for her own good.
As she was reeled in, Xanele went against all logic and threw a punch, charged with her rainbow light. It sparked and crackled and when she was close enough for her fist to make contact, there was a lick of flame from the touch of burning hot light on clothing. Eastxi let go of the chain and grabbed Xanele by her forearm, turning her in place, so that her back was to him. Simultaneously, his work had finally paid off and the claymore was pried out of the wall; most of the building it was stuck in fell as he brought it in front of him, menacingly. Brixan, holding up his gun, wanted to barrage the man with poison, but his teammate was standing in the way, held in place by Eastxi, as a human shield.

Punch, punch, stab, punch, kick. They were rapid-firing blows at one another, without any time for rest. As soon as Xoje’s punch was blocked by her arm, the other came around with fluid motion; it was a pattern that would not let up. Serox used her speed to sidestep with ease, with Xoje only catching her sudden movements with his ears at the last second. She was too quiet to keep a good tab on, which really, signified just how good a ninja she was.
This time she managed to go almost 180 degrees on him, delivering a horizontal blow to Xoje’s spine. With his bugle in a backhanded hold, he barely stopped her from paralyzing him. She snarled, just a little, wanting to get in and hit him at a weak spot. All she had managed to do was land some punches to his arms or shoulders or something but that was when he was blocking or just letting her hit him. Letting her hit him. She could tell it was not because he was taunting her, but because he had to let her hit him at some point since he had no chance of keeping up with her speed.
He was hardly fast, by her standards, Serox thought. The problem was that he could see her coming, somehow. Somehow. Even when she sneaked around and tried to catch him in a blind spot. She was completely unaware of what powers he may have. It could have been foresight like Xando, or maybe strength like Eastxi. Not to say that was an actual element or ability; it was just something that came with his package, per say. Even Xynras never had “super strength”.
But that was unrelated and too tangential and too expository to be useful to be thinking about at the moment. All Serox was convinced of was how she was going to outmaneuver his crazy prediction abilities.
Preventing him from moving at all felt like a solid plan. Pushing his weapon off with the use of both hands on her staff, Serox rotated about Xoje again, this time shifting to his side, and much lower. The sharp end of her weapon was poised in a great stabbing position, directed at his ankles. Before blood could be drawn though, most of Xoje’s weight was shifted to that leg, as his other left the ground. His knee came around and rammed into Serox’s jaw, knocking her sideways. Xoje took a few steps back for some breathing room, and regained a little of his composure, glad to not have the constant sensation of new bruises forming every other second.
Serox, on her hands and knees, spitting out a few drops of red, staggered to her feet. She wiped the blood off of her lips and cheek with the back of her hand, then took her chin in that same hand and cracked the whole lower portion of her mouth back into place. Any signs of swelling died away almost immediately. Even with healing properties, what she had in speed could not match her opponent’s stamina. A few surprise strikes were not going to cut it. She would need to buy some time until reinforcements came.
Watching the action scene play out, perched on the same spot, the corner of Dryxaim’s mouth raised just a bit. It brought him immense joy to see the blonde down there get her ass handed to her by someone who could put up with her incessant ninja crap. Then he turned his head, and checked out the little scuffle to his left. He had to admit that seeing the old man on the losing end provided him with some entertainment too.

Appropriately, Xanele acted against struggling, due to having the feeling that she would be snapped in half if she moved a muscle the wrong way. Eastxi’s arm was wrapped tightly around her torso and upper arms now, though, which restricted pretty much anything she could have hoped to do to escape. She looked at her allies, who were struggling themselves, as Eastxi hacked away with his behemoth of a weapon, enjoying a good deal of protection.
“Get him!” She called, not wanting them to lose on her account. “Don’t worry! Just get him, get him-”
Her shouts were cut short when Eastxi jumped in the air, turning, and manipulating his hulking sword so that it moved upward with him, at an angle with the building below. When he landed, the sword was still going from side to side, and cleaved into the stone below, splitting it, a huge rift forming.
Xanele lurched with her captor’s sudden and jolting movements, and could feel on her the straining of muscles that could only be described as mutant. She was very troubled that, even when they finally had the advantage of numbers on their side, they just could not take down this other Organization. It hardly made sense to her. They had people like Xemnas, Cinollex, Kurix, Xoje, and Jynx on their side, with abilities and talents that should be able to shine brighter than anything these guys brought to the table. Yet, these kinds of situations keep happening. What the hell? Skills, technology, brains, all on their side. It was just so wrong. It was three on one, so he should be outnumbered, not them.
And somehow this buildup of distemper towards the man trapping her against him and the guy with the robot arm and the guy with the orange shields and all the others was strong enough to be noticed by the fantastic piece of technology on her arm. It whirred and glowed and started projecting those crazy yellow holograms like it had before, and Xanele felt the energy course through her body. Eastxi did not notice the light show, as he was too busy blocking diamonds and poison darts, so she felt no danger in wriggling her right arm around until the clawed hand latched onto some part of his abdomen. It was only then that he realized something was up, but by then it was too late. Xanele discharged the Power Glove’s store of mystical energy, coming out as tendrils of electricity, color much like the light that would normally come out of her.
The shock was too much, and Eastxi let go of Xanele. He wanted to throw her off but every muscle in his body shuddered with uncontrollable spasms. The claymore fell from his twitching hand, and faded away before it could cause another tremor by hitting the stone. Eastxi doubled over, resisting the urge to emote his pain, and working to stay on his feet. A number of diamonds, flying at his head, nearly knocked him over. He glared at Xenjin through a wincing eye, and began to run, realizing that the tables may have turned, and he was the one who was finally outnumbered.
Brixan raised his crossbow and fired a few bolts towards Eastxi’s legs, hoping to stun him before he could get too far, but the electricity was beginning to wear off. The strong man was regaining his strength, and he leapt, high, narrowly avoiding the arrows. Eastxi landed on an adjacent building, and continued hopping from rooftop to rooftop, not looking back. Xanele stumbled to the edge of their building and held up her gloved hand. She wanted to do more damage.
Her body gave out though, and she fell before she could steady her arm. A hand came to her shoulder, lifting her up. Xanele had been drained by the gauntlet’s surprise attack as well, perhaps only a little less than Eastxi; her hair was sticking up in places form the static. As Xenjin helped her to her feet, Brixan was next to them, trying to follow the runner through his scope. Shaking his head, he lowered his weapon.
“He’s escaped through the market. I can’t see him.”
“A-Are we going after…?” Xanele asked, sounding kind of dazed and surly.
“Sure, after that success.” Replied the one holding her up, sarcastically.
“At least we know we can take him, now.” Brixan said. The crossbow disappeared in a green cloud and he crossed his arms, still looking out into the city. Xenjin rolled her eyes.
“Yeah, and we did it with just three of us!”
There was a silence. Mostly because they felt some truth in the sardonic statement she had made. They had no idea how any more of these people could equal that level of power, or be even stronger.
“Maybe we should, uh, go home.” Xanele recommended. “We haven’t seen Xemnas, and he was in trouble, so we should see if he’s okay.”
They agreed, and left the collapsing building quietly.

So, Frenchy was beaten. Hah! He would have to torment him about this later. A lot.
But now things were becoming pretty boring. Half of the good fights were over, and Serox was doing some weird stuff over here. The wannabe ninja was implementing some hit-and-run tactics, mostly using her staff from a safe distance. Dryxaim thought this was surprising and unlike her and she was obviously planning something.
Xoje was confused as well. It was actually easier for him to defend himself; there were longer gaps between assaults, and he could hear whenever she tried to appear behind him. He was considering going on the offensive himself, and given that his enemy was pretty pissed off from the face-breaking and holding back, it felt like the right move. The next jab that came at him was deflected by his bugle, but this time he forced her staff up, and Xoje rushed forward, punching her squarely in the shoulder. Serox was surprised, and cringed, feeling blood rush around in her veins as the wound formed then healed.
Dryxaim smirked. Were both of them seriously going to lose on this mission? Oh man. He was going to use those new ears to listen in on whatever the Superior was going to say to them about this. Eastxi could barely take down a bunch of girls and Serox was having trouble with just one guy. So inept. It made Dryxaim almost laugh that they would need help to fight these Organization losers, who should be even more inept than them. Did they need to team up like babies to do anything effective?
Unfortunately that is just what they were prepared to do.
Fresh from his failed encounter and from a brisk run through the market was Eastxi, leaping from the ground to the building Xoje and Serox were fighting on. The girl, sighing, backed off from Xoje’s attacks, landing next to her partner. They partook in wordless conversation, merely glancing at each other, and then set their sights on Xoje. Dryxaim looked at the scene a moment before his face contorted to an expression of disgruntlement and concern. He could, by any means, let them kill that guy.
