Kingdom hearts 3 , the trailer does not impress me at all. Im sure this has been felt or discussed before, but Im too damn lazy to search for old threads. Ive come here as a new member, looking for fun not work...

YouTube - Kingdom Hearts 3

The above is a youtube link, I hope that is acceptable .

My feelings are that this trailer looks more like a serious game, like a final fantasy game. The imaginative child like bond I share with these games, there awe and "magic" is missing. The trailer does not get me excited especially the part that says it is for a PS3....

The game does not look like it is sincere to the comic, and adolescent atmosphere of the originals . I will be 20 years old soon, male.

I am an artist when others hate my art I say "f** you " and I do things the way I like to. I care about my image though so I follow rules and give others the respect they deserve so dont expect me to break rules here, I just respect the respect Im owed too.

I value an honest but respectable opinion in a person. Doing something out of passion that means something to them special or significant .

Playing these games was a hell of a lot of fun because I appear as a tuff guy in life, and then you would find me playing a child hood memmory game, kingdom hearts. It was an escape and alot of fun to revisit that imaginative side of me that existed freely so long ago. So imaginative we are as children.

Frankly, this new bad ass looking trailer, all dark and violent would be a turn on if the title was final fantasy but for kingdom hearts it is just a huge turn off.

I thought you have got to be joking this aint kh, the only bit i thought it was, was mickey mouse, ven and the heart in the sky. This is not kh to me, it IS more like final fantasy, a lot of fighting and no real character views, and final fantasy have better movies than this as well.

that is not kingdom hearts 3. that is kingdom hearts Birth by sleep. a new game announced for the psp.and why is a darker, more mature story bad for kingdom hearts? im kinda glad that it is becoming more serious. besides, there will still be disney worlds.

I agree. I've gotten a bit nostalgic, so I thought I would go back to my roots. I remembered how much I missed the extremely well-balanced goofyness of Kingdom Hearts 1, with the seriousness of the architecture and villians, too. But in a way, I like the serious side of things. It's a good thing that this is only a spin-off, I hope that they bring the happy-go-lucky sora back in KH3.

OH, thanks for clearing that up. I joined this forums because I know nothing, now I know something. I prob confused people with this line

"especially the part that says it is for a ps3"

I did not recall this, I had read this on youtube , apparently that is as good a source as wikkipedia.

Thank you for clearing this up for me.

I do not mind it being darker, a bit more fun and violent, to make it feel more realistic and dramatic however everything is taken seriously within a certain context. Kingdom hearts works because it is meant to be taken lightly with spoonfuls of imagination and child hood pudding...

If they make this game too dark I would not play, regardless Im not getting a PSP.

I was misinformed sorry for my confusion.

Thank you.

EDIT: ME too trag.

You know if you join, go to the main page of Kingdom Hearts Insider and look at the scans before posting, it would a help and also Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep is for the PSP, but say Kingdom Hearts 3 did go to the PS3, you would be angry wouldn't you? But yeah, it is a little bit more serious.

This probably proves that if the next game were on a Sony Console, most people wouldn't buy one, by the way, do you have a Nintendo DS?

I also forgot to mention that there are three games coming out.

Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep is based around the Secret Endings, yes, but its not Kingdom Hearts 3 nor its replacement. Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep is a Kingdom Hearts title that is part of a new series, revolving around the outside work, or side stories of the series. Of course its of important because it will give us information about the past Keyblade War(s), the past wielders of the Keys, Xehanort's memories, and many more mysterious.

Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep For Playstation Portable
Kingdom Hearts: 358 and 1/2 days For Nintendo Dual Screen
Kingdom Hearts: Coded For Mobile Phones

Are all part of this new series, but these titles are not the last of the Kingdom Hearts series. Nomura stated that all three of these titles will connect to a new Kingdom Hearts title sooner or later. So each game has an element that will connect to a new story in the future. Nomura said that if we looked at the ending of Kingdom Hearts 2, closely, we can tell that there are some new promotions to be made. Sora's story is not over and its likely that he will make an appearance again before the end of the Kingdom Hearts. If the series reaches to Kingdom Hearts 3, Sora will indeed be important.

Keep in mind that Nomura never said that a Kingdom Hearts 3 will not be made, he merely gave off hints that he will take a break from his mainstream story, and work on the other characters. So yeah, we can expect a Kingdom Hearts 3 after the new series has wrapped up. The next Sequel, presumed Kingdom Hearts 3, needs more foundation, the new series will most likely aid in doing that.

The reason for the Disney incorporation with FF elements is to attract a broader appeal. This way Square Enix and Disney are able to market to a variety of ages, and ensure that the ESRB ratings are reasonable....not like anyone cares about the ratings anway. Also, the gameplay is made easy enough for younger kids to play while the story is complex enough for older individuals. I personally am excited to see the darker side of KH.

Well Im the sort of guy that prefers tim burton's batman films versus "batman begins"

I love dark films however and I enjoy a darker twised side to things. Which really is tim burtonish but you can see the difference between a burton film and another, how serious the film takes itself.

Tim Burton's batman is like an older brother that teaches you about women, and wild parties, and this other guy, batman begins, example is like a father that beats you bloody for being bad.

I feel that the less dark side is usually more imaginative, it considers elements floating, changing surviving it is considerate of characters and there journeys and the dark side just works on destroying those things in a realistic and dramatic way.

It is almost, shall I say more preachy in a way and too preachy for my unstable mind. HAHAHAH. It tries to be the fangs of reality but its too hard to chew what it asks you to bite off, the gum. Where as my imagination runs wild with this stretchy flavorable , imaginaitve gum.

Also it makes us admire the good in our lives more and fear the bad greater-over all not just the game but the genre over all of violence. Im not a violence weeping willow but Im not huge on sincere franchises following "the cool crowd of ambulances" either...hahhahaah

This is full of metaphors.

But the "trailer" is pretty much the same damned thing they did with Deep Dive and Another Side before Kingdom Hearts 2. Yeah, it looks all bad ass and adult now when it's rendered like Final Fantasy, but when you see the same stuff done in the Kingdom Hearts style it fits in more. You're reading way too much into an old video that has already been seen and dissected a million times.

Well, I have to agree somehow. The Kingdom Hearts BBS trailer from Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix did seem a little violent (the whole thing with Ven and Master Xehanort). I did love the "childish" part of KH1 and I also loved to see this again in most of KH2 in the disney worlds. But the last part and the final battles and the especially the whole Castle That Never Was seemed kinda too FF-like and didn't feel like Kingdom Hearts or a Disneythemed game at all, except for the really nice ending. I mean don't you think Sora and Riku's last battles were a little extreme with all the jumping from building to building and blocking off Xemnas's bullets? And why the heck did they put Maleficent and Pete in there??
Another thing that really bothered me was the 12+ rating for KH2. I don't think that is a game suitable for all audiences right?
Well, I really do hope that the future KH games don't get too dark and violent. That'd be a big disapointment.

I think they might kill Aerith or Squall off. Those two might bite the dust in the future. However, if they did kill Squall there might be an uproar among the KH fans.

Aerith would make sense since she's got killed in Final Fantasy VII, I was thinking Cloud but alot of Cloud fans would kill Nomura if they could. Disney characters may not be touchable, except Disney Villains but Final Fantasy characters could die and original Kingdom Hearts characters.

Sora's growing up. Say Sora is 20ish in KH3. You can't excpect him to be happy and all imaginative when he's already grown up. He'll look at things at a diffrent point of veiw compared to when he was younger! So BBS is kinda like that it shows the story of about 20ish year old people (Ven might be 14-16) so of course it might be mature. If you look at the scans it does look kinda darker but not THAT much darker..

At my computer. How would I be on this forum if I
That isn't even the full trailer.

That's the really, really, really, old trailer.

YouTube - KH2 - Final Mix + : New Secret Ending (High Quality)

That's the other half, which is also still pretty old.

Just because one scene is a bit mature doesn't mean that the entire game will be like that. It's just one scene from BBS, so how are you not impressed?
