Maxing out stats gets pretty easy with Hollow Leg. Hell, you can pretty much beat everybody in the game without maxing out the stats completely.

I think I had to actually fight him on easy or normal, and it still was a real challenge. This time, I plan to get the best character items and Up there defense and attack enough to fight him on hard and ultimate difficulty. For Ultimate though, you'd probably have to max out the stats.
Maybe, but Each eniemy drops a different pin a based on which difficulty you're on. On hard, he won't drop an ultimate difficulty pin, but he could drop a normal or easy difficulty pin.
Well, I never tried it on ultimate, so I wasn't sure.
I beat it on Ultimate. Albeit after many fits of screaming when I knocked him down to half of the green bar.
If you're gonna beef up anyone's stats, it's Joshua's for Attack mostly since the top can be dodged fairly easily, while Neku should get as much Defense as possible, with a lot of healing pins, since the bottom half is the damage dealer between the two halves of the boss.
Well, not like I can worry about that right now. I'm gonna tackle that when it comes forward.

I too beat Hanekoma's Noise Form on Ultimate. In similar pre-victory post-defeat screaming fits like Bamak. I used Joshua too, since his style of 'dodging' requires much less precise timing than the other members, and with the right Threads, I could get him combos of around twenty hits, and that's just his normal length ones. Take it up to thirty with the grand finisher, and he was a great asset to the battle.
That's true, but I want to give myself the best chance against Hakenoma from the start and just dominate everything else.
If you intend to get every pin from him, you will need to defeat him on Ultimate difficulty. That's the only way you have even a chance of getting the Black Jupiter pin, unless you managed to be able to buy it from Wild Kat.
I didnt want to level up Joshua, so for Ultimate, I used Beat. I used the best healing pins I could find, like that smily face one, and the weird impenitrable bubble pins on neku. All i did was keep Neku surrounded and focused on Beat. It was hard, but I had nothing else to do.
Right now I'm trying to max out the pins I have. I'll worry about the hard to get ones later.
I'm also trying to get hollow leg, which is quite annoying. It took me forever to figure out there was no way in hell I was gonna get very much shadow matter if I wasn't at least 60 levels under.

Eh, for healing I found that the Healing Whale Pin, number 130 by Sheep Heavenly.
Four uses, heals 70% of HP, and boots instantly. It's just a little slow between having tapped the Pin and having your health restored, leaving you open to being attacked, but just position yourself in a safe place or a safe distance away, and you'll be fine.

That's why I save my Scarletite. If I waste them, Then I would be stuck getting the neccessary scarletite pins the hard way.
