FFVII shouldn't be as hyped as people say it should be but it's still a very good game. And since when does Nomura always represent S-E? o.0

Of all people who think FFVII is the greatest Final Fantasy ever made, I've never met one that could tell me why.
All I ever get is, "because serphroth is teh greatest character ever1!!"
Cloud's confabulation storyline doesn't exceed any other storylines.
Exactly why people who first played it are blind to the rest of the games.

Look, I might as well just rephrase and say that the people on this site are much different than those of other S-E forums (there's your individuality) but you all sound the same and have such similar opinions (there's the similarity).

I love KH1 because it was the first game I ever played. So, I cherish that.
I love FFVII because it was the first FF game I ever played. So I cherished that.
Not sounding too stereotypical but I love FFVII because of my own personal reasons and I never really had enough money to buy games at that time. I mean, perhaps I would've cherished FFX more if that was my first FF game but it isn't.
And, I love FFVII. That doesn't change the fact it's a good game. Can we stop assuming I'm trying to say it's the best game?! >.<

then the ending...now flare is very right 7's ending wasn't very good.

FFVII was not the first "complex" story in video games, let alone the series. It also wasn't the most complex, it was just vague. Look at FFIV for your proof.
Second, Sephiroth, while quite memorable, wasn't that great of a villain. He did some neat things, but he was essentially a grumpy teenager who goes nuts. After he falls into the Lifestream, he's not really even Sephiroth anymore. It's essentially Jenovah acting within him.
Kefka, on the other hand, was always Kefka, and Kuja was always Kuja.

It's not a bad game, it's good, but it doesn't compare to other FF's in my opinion. That cow is over-milked.
The only good thing I've seen in DoC so far is the recent scans of Yuffie

FF9 is the most underrated of all games. I would love to see something else for it, the story, characters and the music far exceeds FFVII's (IMO). But I'm picky against sequels, too. Most of them don't live up to the originals.
