I went to Gamestop today, and I asked the guy who worked there how long they would be selling the BBS PSP pack after it comes out, he told me they won't be selling it at all because they won't be getting overstock, and the only ones who can get it are the ones who reserve it, and because of that, thery're only taking reserves for one more week. I had told him that I wouldn't have the money until about 2 weeks after it comes out, and I know that they only hold it for 48 hours after it comes out. Luckily for me, he told me that his boss might let them hold it for me if I give an EXACT date when I can pick it up, so I ended up reserving it. He also told me, that the only way they would sell it in the store, is if someone doesn't pick it up, so I'd be better off reserving it, because people not picking up their reserved items is rare, and if they don't, it sells fast in the store. I was just wondering, is it like this in all Gamestop stores?

I dunno. First I've heard of this :/

I was so pissed when I heard it. You'd think that they would sell it regularly in the store, because Xmas is coming up and I'm sure it would sell really well around that time. That makes more sense to me.

I didn't even want to reserve it, but that guy was nice enough to tell me to let his boss know EXACTLY when I can pick it up, and they'd be able to hold it for me till then. Lucky me :)

Well, I haven't asked because I am paying in increments before the game comes out. I'm making my last payment Friday but I didn't know about anything like that. I think that sounds a bit stupid, but logical considering they don't want to overstock and have a bunch of PSPs with Birth By Sleep sitting in the back of the shop and nobody is buying them.

Even at Christmas, nobody might buy them because of how scarce money is lately.

This is true for ALL GameStop exclusive limited editions. Be it console bundles or certain editions of a game. They are shipped on a made to order basis, meaning a store gets no more than the preorders that were made. After ship date any overstock of said bundles at the factories are dismantled and their contents repacked and sold separately. If you buy a Mystic Silver PSP or a copy of BBS in the future, know it once might have been part of this bundle.

Because they're made to order and you can only order for a limited time, these PSP bundles almost instantly become collector items. People often immediately put these bundles up on eBay for much more than the $200 price tag.

GameStop/EB Games isn't like Target where they buy a bunch of bundles en masse and try and sell them over the span of years. GameStop actually wants to get rid of the product they have.

I think it's also based on the location of the gamestop....for instance one at the Mall of America might get more in other than the pre-ordered ones since it's a bigger more gone to store that would possibly sell out faster than a Gamestop located nearby a cornfield and a Mcdonalds with a construction zone going on at the same time

No, no store will get more cause it's in a better location. These are preorder EXCLUSIVES. The only time a store actually has some on shelve for sale is if it was ordered by a deadbeat (someone who preorders but never returns to fully purchase). If you want one you best go slap $25 down on a preorder at your local GameStop.

So if I preordered online am I guaranteed the bundle? I've never preordered online from Gamestop and I'm a little worried that I won't receive it =/

If you preorder online or reserve it at the store you're guaranteed to get it. It's probably better to reserve it at a store, because you won't have to pay for shipping.

Do they consider reserving and preordering to be the same thing? Like if there's a bonus for preordering and I reserved it, will I still get the bonus?

*gets shot for dumb question*

Cuz there are these cool BBS decals I want.

I don't know if you'll get the bonus or not, but it's really not a big deal if you don't. Sometimes they do give out the bonuses when you reserve them at the store, but it depends on the store i think. If you for sure want the decals, then preorder it online, but you'll have to pay for shipping. I'd reserve it at the store. I know you want the decals, but really they're just stickers that'll end up wearing and come off eventually. But, do whatever u want.

You know what, I'll be fine if I don't get them. I already reserved and just wanted to make sure I'd get the actual game. As long as that happens, I'll be content.
