No issue, masses of people also never noticed that Roxas and Ventus have different colored eyebrows (brown and blond, respectively) and in this opening scenes rush past rather fast so you need a screenshot to notice it.
Eyebrows also tend not to be usual identification marks people look after, lol.
It explains the whole thing indeed without resorting already to a bunch of conspiracy theories regarding hidden meanings and hints that may not even be intentionally there.
It is obvious that the opening recaps not only BBS proper but also this game's close proximity and connection to both KH 1 (the dark energy swirling around the "Disney Castle" symbolizing the worlds lost before and during KH 1), DDD and Xehanort's overall plan that was always in the background (the 13 thrones).
At the very end it does a bridge to KH III and the possible next step in Aqua's journey.
The actual current step however, what 0.2 itself is about, is obviously not addressed/spoiled in the opening itself.
Such a "solution" would have created even more questions than the current setup does, lol.
I wouldn't call the symbolism unneccessary because the fact that Ventus always resisted and Xehanort (remember golden eyes signify Xehanort-control in some form) never really had actual control of this hybrid-being is something fairly noteworthy to consider.
Also when you look at the whole thing with the knowledge in mind that Vanitas being created in the first place was in the end because Ventus himself would never give in/succumb to the Darkness even while training under Xehanort.
Since this opening however is primarily about Aqua and her struggles, symbolism is the most cost-effective way to hint at those things without having to depict actual scenes addressing them which would have broken the flow of the scenes.

Here too, Ven-nitas's honestly don't look that much darker considering the lighting.
Xion's in the KH3D opening look a LOT darker, even with the twilight sun on her face. I don't think Ven-nitas has black eyebrows.
Roxas and Ventus also don't have different colored eyebrows. They both have eyebrows that are lighter up top and brown-ish at the bottom.

which is probably due to it being a Reflection, BUT:
Venitas's are this color:
And in this shot of Ventus, it is this color:
The difference is way more obvious here because Ventus is not blueish here overall.

The difference is way more obvious here because Ventus is not blueish here overall.
Honestly I wouldn't look that much into it. Color codes chance rather quickly depending on which spot you select because of light/shadows and effect they use. I'm pretty sure it's dark blonde and I don't think it has anything significant to do with the 'symbolism'.

In most cases I'd think so too, but damn Nomura loves his colors and symbolism so I still kinda see it.
Using DDD screenshots as comparison also isn't too conclusive since they openly admitted to have used the very same model for Ven and Roxas in that game.
Not to mention that individual people can have different color sight and as stated, the lighting in a scene also plays a role.
Nonetheless though, the symbolism still stands even without that extra trait since
blond hair, blue eyes => Ventus
body suit, jaw piece => Vanitas
The "actual" Ventus-Vanitas hybrid being in BBS had no jaw piece but golden eyes instead.
But there it was not necessary to give any visual hint at Ventus fighting from within because it got actually depicted "live" in Ven's part of the story.
