Most of the films most powerful moments(Esmeralda defending Quasimodo, Frollo burning the house down, and the sanctuary scene) all felt watered down.
Was anyone else disappointed with la cite de cloches?

I was facepalming during that scene haha. I was like, seriously? Haven't they learned their lesson yet?
I actually liked the world. Being chased by that Nightmare was very difficult (kept dying over and over again). I think a lot of people had way too high expectations for this world, ending in disappointment.
That happens in every world for the most part. So no, not really. I still really enjoyed it, besides there are some original KH scenes that are awesome as well.
In my case, that was my possibly my biggest disappointment with the whole game, not just this world

I do appreciate that the racism from the movie stays in tact, and even references to god IIRC. Makes the world seem somewhat authentic at least

I really would have prefered for them to not put La Cite Des Cloches in KH3D, and save it for KH3 where it could have been given more justice. They could have put 101 Dalmatians in place of La Cite Des Cloches in KH3D.

It woulndt be enjoyable unless we coud talk to the dogs, would we be dogs or mabey goofy would tranaslate for us. There usualy has to be a choice for an animal world. In tarzan we could talk to jane and tarzan yet turk and other gorrialls were silent to us.Then we have the lion king where we had to become then to understand.
I have a question for those of you who have already played the game:
How did the game handle this world's religon? I mean I could be wrong, but I believe this is the first one in the series that is obviously Christian...and heavily structured off of the religon too. I'm not trying to speculate the game's religon, or the characters', but this just seemed a bit odd to me.

I'm wasn't disappointed with it, though I've never seen the actual movie. XD
I don't remember seeing a lot of references to the world's religion. The only one I recall is on a map, they use the cross to symbolise the Cathedral.
I thought they handled it all fine.
I was surprised, though, to see images of what looked like Mary or something in the cathedral.
I was quite disappointed in the display of a lot of worlds, no NPCs are visible during the actual game, for example when the statues say they have things undercover, they just disappear after the scene ends, and overall this made the game feel awfully empty for me. Even coming back to all these worlds, you can't even speak to the NPCs again, they're just gone, while past games like Kingdom Hearts 2 had lots of NPCs where they were suitable and for example in the 1000 heartless battle you actually got to fight with some NPCs, while in this game if you're fighting with someone they just magically disappear until the next cutscene.
Well this is a Minus Point for nearly all Games, even if there are SOME NPCs the Games are suffering for being so empty.
In KH3D it's the same thing, you meet those World related Characters, see them some Cutscenes and then you are all alone with a bunch of ever returning Monsters.
They could excuse it for "being a World in sleep" but oh my, thats still not covering the emptiness of the whole series.
