tfw the only KH related thing we might be getting this year is sora possibly being inside the new astro bot game

Seeing some of the confirmed bots from people playing early, I’ll be sad if there are no SE characters.

If there is no Sora Bot in Astrobot, I will shed one big beautiful tear that slowly rolls down my cheek and trickles down onto my Dualsense controller. I have the purity and kindness of a wide-eyed schoolboy, but an event like this would turn me into a twisted psychopath beyond your worst nightmares.

there's no way in hell there won't be cloud bot at the very least. sora is 50-50 because disney.

So they can get permission to use 3rd party characters but I doubt we'll see Sora. I'd love to see him cameo in this game

There’s a LOT of third party bots in there, some really special bots too.

But I doubt Sora and I’m doubting Square Enix as well.

With the Buster Sword in Playroom, I was leaning toward Cloud being in at least. But I think someone would have found it by now.

Wonder why they would have opted out. I assume Sony would have asked them considering there are reps from Sega, Capcom, etc.

Astro Bot’s at a 94 Metacritic score with 98 reviews, dethroning Rebirth for the highest rated game of 2024. It may end up between these two for GOTY. Would not be surprised at all if it goes to Astro.

There’s also a rumor the PS5 Pro will be announced next week with a State of Play following the week after.

Yeah, just saw. Seeing all those perfect scores is really jarring for a PS game. I'm used to 2D and 3D Mario games being the only titles to bear such high scores.

Astro Bot must be something special.

and the only two games i pre ordered this year. i know peak when i see one.

So many big games this month and I'm too poor for any of them because of real life getting in the way.

same. loved the mickey mouse rebrushed demo, but 60 dollars is too much for these type of games. i usually buy everything i wanted during the year around black friday sales if the discounts are good enough.

With DLC planned for Astro Bot, I wonder if that is how we may end up getting one or more SE reps. It would make sense for them to save some high profile bots for a bit later. And we know SE likes for their characters to get special treatment (see Smash.)

Just seems strange they would decline to have their reps appear or at least have more references like the Buster Sword in Playroom. Unless their relationship really is just burned that bad from the lackluster performance with their exclusivity deals.

I’m imagining a collab between the two games close to the Game Awards, which would be cool considering they are the top two contenders right now. The competition may put them at odds, but I’m not sure they would take it that serious. I think they’d care more about the positive sales a collab would generate. And Rebirth’s success still benefits Sony.
