Even as someone who doesn't care about Astro Bot, I'm disappointed there's no Square Enix cameo there. Despite not being a Sony exclusive, Final Fantasy is one of the brands that define Playstation for me. Its been there since PS1. And I thought something from FF7 at least was a given.

Don't know if it was Square that didn't want to collaborate, because Astro Bot will be competing with FF7 Rebirth for GOTY, but they need to be more open mind to these things. It will give more visibility to their IPs and a lot of fans want that too.

On Astrobot, I'm bittersweet about the inclusion of Pipo Monkeys. On one hand, hey, they acknowledge Ape Escape is a thing! On the other, Japan Studio is no more and the series is dead forever, probably.

There's no way in hell KH4 won't be multi-platform, unless Disney's even more stupid than I thought.

Disney would go with whatever platform(s) Nomura/Square Enix want to develop the game for as they always have.

Also, on that “leak”, it is likely nothing but an educated guess based on their new multi-platform strategy. It’s obvious one of the first steps of that would include porting over existing games.

I was hoping they would be in DLC, but it seems the DLC VIP bots already have their companies listed in the credits. No SE to be found. Looking more and more likely that they declined involvement. A big disappointment if so.

SE: "Only we are allowed to put our characters in games"

Me: "hey, are you going to release KH4?"

SE: "No"

Astrobot could have a paid expansion down the road, maybe we could get Cloud & Sora.

i wish more games use the dualsense like astro does. playing through the game right and the dualsense features is the best thing about it. ffxvi and rebirth did not use it at all other than when you open large doors lmao. my copium is, since kh4 is more ''child friendly game'' means it will have more fun with that. but yeah i don't think square and third party devs care about it at all x.x

It happens with a lot of gaming peripherals. First party games use them heavily at first but they sort of die off as the generation continues, third party rarely bothers (probably because it's effort into one port that can't translate to other ports)

I'm sad that Activity Cards didn't take off, and then people complained and effectively got them reduce to almost nothing.

Naturally, sure. But I can't imagine it'll be anything but multi-platform, regardless of the recent strategy coming into play. Unless Sony strike the best exclusivity deal known to man, KH4 will 100% be multi-plat.

Yeah, it's a bummer. Was really fond of the Joy-Con's HD Rumble and was looking forward to other first party Nintendo games utilizing the technology, only to realize only like 5% percent do. (Mario Odyssey's use of it was pretty neat though)

If you're gonna go above and beyond to make additional features that give your system some personality, why not make use of it whenever you can?

I personally don't see KH4 using anything like that outside your standard Rumble but one can hope I suppose.

I’d really want KH4 to use the adaptive triggers but I don’t know how it could work gameplay wise as our main button during combat is the X button. Maybe during exploration or mini games.

KH4 wouldn't use any Dualsense dependent features, nor does KH's control scheme have any use for dynamic triggers, but I've come to enjoy the subtle pitter-patter for footsteps that first party games have been employing.

I could see something with the Keychain Grapple. There could be some puzzles of some sort where you need to use it to attach to an object. Then use the triggers to pull the chain and move the object.

Could also see it coming into play with an upgraded reaction command system if they employ other buttons besides Triangle.

IF there's not a Loony Tunes beat down reaction command for the grapple, I'll be very upset.

Both Ever Crisis and FF Record Keeper have anniversaries this month. 1st and 10th respectively. Nomura’s involved with both, so maybe we’ll get ML news after their events are wrapped up. He made some comments about them.

Nomura: "I was supervising both RK and EC, and the catchphrases were exactly the same. One was "Beyond the 1st Anniversary" and the other was "Beyond the 10th Anniversary."
Nomura: "10 years is amazing, thanks to the efforts of all our players. If we keep it up we can become number one in sales..."
"I want to have big dreams"

I get the thinking that ML should get it’s own time to shine once things clear up and thus every hope is “maybe news after this game’s anniversary date / release” but there’s always going to be something happening.

At this point ML is just going to get an update on a random Tuesday that no one is expecting or at TGS.

We'll be halfway through 2025 and still going "Maybe after this thing" for KH4 and ML cuz of Dragon Quest commemorative dining chairs
