because FF7 >> KH, i fear.
waiting till basically december to speak up about ML’s delay is defo an….interesting choice. unless it wasn’t even a choice at all and they were legit just having mad complications with its development.
weirdly enough, im not even as disappointed as i thought id be for a delay announcement. can’t tell if its my absence of faith when it comes to punctuality with the kh team or if i just stopped caring. so many banger games have dropped in the middle of the passive wait for anything kh related that im at inner peace.
my condolences go towards the more…hardcore fans that’ve been counting down the days on their calendars, however.
I lost faith in this battery drainer that people would very likely need to delete half of their entire app library to even install the full version so

Simply because they're not ready.
For FF7, it's true that they've been more open, but they've also been A: Remaking something that we're familiar with, and B: developing it much faster than the KH team has been developing their games.
I actually think it's a good idea for the KH team to remain silent until they can give us consistent updates. Drip feeding worlds and concept art over a few years would also suit me just fine, but that's part of the reason why the KH fandom didn't like KH3. If they start giving us information too soon, they have less control over tempering expectations.

Considering Ever Crisis runs like a slideshow on mine at lowest graphics settings, I'd be down with a multiplatform release for sure.
I for one am incredibly pleased we got KH news this side of New Year's, at least we know what we don't know yet
Saves us from any guessing that Missing Link would shadow drop at The Game Awards too!
I do wish they had shared like a screenshot or something alongside the news, to lessen the blow. Like can we please see what the Disney aspect looks like?

Just want to point out, when Nier Reincarnation had a similar delay, it was announced as delayed to 2021 on 12/11/24. Two weeks later they announced the release date. Don’t want to get hopes up, but it’s entirely possible a similar situation plays out here. I want to believe them telling us this “early” and not at the end of December means more news sooner than later.
That said, they did indicate in the initial delay for Nier that it would release first half of 2021. No such promises made here. But it would be insane if we don’t get it by summer unless they really did decide to turn it into a console release.

Looks like this is the first game from their partnership with Tencent. Wonder what other projects are in the works as part of that.,. A Nier game was being worked on at one point but was shelved.
Also, kind of interesting that Hideaki Itsuno (DMC, Dragon’s Dogma director) was just hired as the head of Lightspeed Studios and now this announcement comes a week later. People previously speculated that he could have been poached by SE, but looks like he may be overseeing some of their games after all.
But man, they really are twisting the knife on us by announcing this the day after officially delaying ML. The trailer even said you could pre-register at the website. (Although it looks like you can only really sign up for updates. Which is still more than you can do for Missing Link…)

I've been getting platinums on my PS3 before servers go down. I don't really care when news drops at this point, it's going to be so long.
