as it has been for seven years or so. I definitely choose to believe Square has realized the power of our collective anticipation. They wouldn't jump us with surprise news on a show floor. the biggest shock they can give us is just announcing a stream or a video, and letting us lose our shit for 24 hrs before we get it.
I thought the final chapter got delayed to early January?

So here’s what I’m thinking could play out based on the rumors floating around.
In January, we get the Switch 2 reveal. This shows VII Remake running on the platform to show the hardware’s capability. This port will be a launch title releasing in March/April. They also announce FFIX Remake for the summer.
Then they will do their own showcase in February since they will no longer be held back by the Switch being under wraps and can map out everything coming after the Switch 2 releases. Games that could be shown there:
FFVII Remake Switch port (releasing March 2025)
FFIX Remake (releasing summer 2025)
FFXIV Mobile (releasing late 2025)
Missing Link (releasing spring/summer 2025)
KH4 (early 2026)
KH series native Switch 2 ports (sometime in 2025)
DQ12 (summer 2026)
DQ1&2 (Fall 2025)
New Nier/Taro project
New Team Asano projects
New Creatuve Studio 3 project
Content updates for Ever Crisis and other mobile titles.
There’s definitely enough content there to justify their own presentation.
This is taken out of context. The Mario-ness comment was actually made about the new composer’s initial work that they went back and made changes to. For Shimomura, they basically just said they wanted to get a fresh face due to the new development team, etc.
