When are we expecting news?

I definitely understand where you're coming from! It sucks that SE or Disney don't really do anything to occupy fans while the games aren't coming out. There are no side-games anymore, but there's also no "supplementary material"? A tv-show for streaming, new books or novels (that aren't game-to-novel adaptations) that flesh out some of the gaps in the series, there's just not really any stuff like that. The fandom is also really trying hard to keep itself alive because there's not really anyone on the official KH social media accounts that gives us any sort of content. Like I'm looking at how well Avatar Studios is doing at keeping the brand alive and I'm in awe.

As much as people disliked and had strong opinions on the Seth Kearsley pilot (at least from what I saw of fan reactions but imo it was pretty charming with well written dialogue) I would take something like that any day over this absolute drought AND over any mobile game about a distant past barely related to the cast of chars of Sora's era that (most) fans actually care about.

It's too bad that they didn't didn't take the route of fleshing out the gaps of the story we didn't get to see through a show or some D+ movie or something just to keep us occupied to retain some momentum for the fandom or give us things to chew over. I wonder if they assume fans or newcomers wouldn't care about it unless it's plot driving or going to actively foreshadow things to come in future games? When I personally WOULD prefer side vignettes that are self contained just for the sake of developing/exploring the characters a little or even answer the "small" questions people have asked even from far back as KH1 that still haven't been answered.

Im not getting my hopes up for ML, I doubt theyll say anything about Missing Link considering its a mobile game. Would be nice to see KH4 but I'm not gonna get my hopes up. Theyll probably just talk about Mario Kart and maybe smash bros. Its due time they release another smash bros to sell a new console.

i think this is the most likely scenario. Kingdom Karts is undeniably all Nomura cares about

I would hope at the very least offline versions of the older games is in the sizzle reel. I've also been thinking that DS games could be added to NSO thanks to the implied mouse functionality allowing for simulated touch screen functions while playing docked. Which could mean a new chance for Days and Recoded on a modern system.

It’s not a good look that there has been no new KHML beta and we’re almost in April. Don’t know if I’d be interested in playing a game that hasn’t been stress tested for like a year.

Five bucks it launches looking exactly the same as it did last year, with exactly the same content, and the only additional stuff is two extra chapters available to play.

Something definitely happened that made them have a big delay. I assume feedback is part of it, and also the whole structure change in the company that made them do internal review.

I saw a youtuber mention it and it's something I always agreed on, that they will want to release ML only on certain season of the year, ideally Spring/Fall due to nature of the game involving lots of walking. Even Nomura sort of mentioned it in the event before. Their initial plan was to release it late Spring/early Summer last year, and once that planned was canned for whatever reason, their only option was Fall of last year or delay it until Spring 2025.
With another Ichiban Kuji coming up in May, I do think they will try to make it around that timeframe this time. If this is the case, they probably should be showing the game pretty soon, do a final beta test before the full release.

Nomura like, drew some art for ML, but literally just because he was surprised at how much traction the last post about ML got, he decided to not show the art until later. And uhhhh we still don't know what that art is.

Sometimes I legit feel like he's kinda bad at responding to stuff.

He didn't actually draw it, he said he was thinking about drawing something but decided not to and do it some other time.

On the global side, at least. I wonder if they are making room for remaining staff (that haven’t been laid off already) to transition to Missing Link or if they plan to lay off everyone and offload ML’s global operations to another company like they did with Octopath…
