Is there anything outside of Square Enix / Kingdom Hearts 4 that people are hoping to see at the SGF show, or during Summer Game Fest itself? Just hoping to break up the one track mind of KH4 hope this week.

I'd really like to see Devil May Cry 6, unfortunately the odds of that happening are even slimmer than KH4.

Geoff doesn't like getting tons of shit for games he doesn't have trailers for. One upon a time he really got it hard from Elden Ring fans, and it overshadowed the Game Awards, but no trailer.

If Geoff says don't get your hopes up, it's because there ain't nothing.

I almost feel like outside of promoting the event itself, Geoff really should just avoid social media and livestreams until after SGF. Nothing for KH4 was confirmed and had he not tweeted at Utada when the Steam trailer released, people wouldn't have gotten their hopes up.

Y'all know I never thought SGF was going to happen and personally I was going all in on D23.

If the ML beta pre-reg is happening soon and from history Square Enix can take up to 3 months to get that out, D23 falls within that. If they have a video game showcase - with all the Star Wars and Marvel games they should - give it a one-two with both trailers there alongside ML's launch.

I think this absence, at least for me, represents a shift in paradigm for the KH4 hype cycle. The game is likely not coming next year, and, in the interest of avoiding another KH3 hype Rollercoaster (and the subsequent expectations and disappointment upon release), y'all should honestly put KH4 out of your minds. Engage with other media, other hobbies, do other stuff instead of letting KH4 become this long awaited holy grail that'll do your taxes and make your wife want to actually share a bed with you again.

I'm kind of relieved he flat out said that. I'm getting old and most of the games showcased in these events don't scratch my itches in the slightest so I end up mostly complaining throughout the whole thing.

Excited to see KH bros without a healthy relationship with the concept of disappointment start propping up ML as "just as good as a mainline title". Like, no, bros. 6+ years without traditional KH stings... experience the pain... appreciate the complex gradient of life...

For me, it's outright confirmed that the Night Springs DLC for Alan Wake 2 will be shown so I'm excited for that, but I'm also hoping for Lego Horizons to be shown if it's real, and hopefully for some more info on The Plucky Squire. Release dates for Lost Records: Bloom & Rage and Epic Mickey Rebrushed would be fantastic too.

Game could still release in 2025 but it's looking more like a Late 2025 release. Man...maybe they shouldn't have revealed KH4 so soon.

At this point we gotta look in the KH website's source code whenever they update, remember when Melody of Memory got leaked in advance? It'd be nice to get something to speculate besides when we're getting news
