You're saying that like it's a fact.

We don't even friggin' know if there is an actual confirmed PS5 Pro reveal event.

And of course the one actually reliable leaker around has more to say about VoM and Dragon Quest than KH while people with shaky track records go "UM I THINK NO WAIT MY SOURCE SAYS THEY THINK"

yeah idk why they would show off KH4 on a PS5 "pro" event. They just announced they are trying to leave console exclusives and what not. honestly I wish they would create their own direct style event at this point. tbh SGF seemed like the best chance, and if it truly is not showing up then idk. D23 itself has been not very revealing unless you watch the Disney parks portion of it. They haven't shown anything KH related there in like forever for the games portion.

He says in general that there are not many new announcements this year, and it mostly seems to focus on games coming out later this year.

I remember the last time they tried this.... oh the internet was not kind to SE in June 2021.
Oh god, is that the one where they had a 20 minute segment on Guardians of the Galaxy?

Idk maybe Geoff's lying, he's done it before, his body language can be seen as lying or just an awkward/bummer situation

I will say, at least Geoff admitted ahead of time instead of letting people get their hopes up. Honestly, I now am starting to get a bit worried about KH4 now. I know Nomura did say that it would be a while before we heard anything, but the fact we've gone two and a half years without anything does make one wonder. Like, I'm surprised that Nomura hasn't at least said something small about it in interviews. Above all though, I think what I find more frustrating about this is that once again, it seems Square has announced the game too early. I really don't get why Square keeps making this mistake with KH, especially after they had other games announced much closer to their release. But hey, at least we will have Missing Link, which I know a lot of people aren't really excited about, but at least it will give us something to ease the wait.

Great. The damn E3 replacement can't even pretend to be like E3 now.

The only reason Nomura announced it early was cuz he was a scaredy cat over leaks post-KH3. And outside of the GeForce leak, the thing he was scared of didn't happen until like last week or so and even then it was practically obvious info that isn't really that notable.

Leave it to Geoff to stir up controversy and drag me back the day I decide to take a break from all this. Lol. I am glad I can at least lower my expectations now.

And yeah, there is a small chance he’s lying/misleading. But why risk fans not tuning in? If I were SE and it was part of the show, I’d be kinda pissed that he scoffed at people hoping for it. And saying “I don’t why people keep asking” after you were just interacting with KH related news like a week ago? If he genuinely doesn’t, he should know that he is the face of this event and people will watch what he does for hints.

Also, there were only like three people in the chat that even asked about it. Other games were being thrown out much more than KH. Why bother bringing it up just to dunk on the fans?

In addition to his comments about KH, he also said at one point that some companies didn’t want to be listed in advance because of expectations being built up too much. I think this could be referring to SE as they may just have Visions of Mana or even just FFXVI/VIIR ports.

I really wish Nomura was a little more transparent like some of the other SE directors/producers that will usually get an update once a year or so, even just to say “it’s still going to be a while” or “more info is coming soon.”

I think this absence, at least for me, represents a shift in paradigm for the KH4 hype cycle. The game is likely not coming next year, and, in the interest of avoiding another KH3 hype Rollercoaster (and the subsequent expectations and disappointment upon release), y'all should honestly put KH4 out of your minds. Engage with other media, other hobbies, do other stuff instead of letting KH4 become this long awaited holy grail that'll do your taxes and make your wife want to actually share a bed with you again.

I’m taking this advice. Or will try to at least. I’m gonna take a break from trying to chase down any breadcrumb that might hint at something maybe happening on a date months in the future for a while. 🙈

I may come back to discuss Missing Link stuff when we get info, but I need to pay more attention to the stuff available to me now to engage with.

A watched pot never boils.

It makes me curious if it's PR team thing. It does feel like even as a director he doesn't get much say on when and what he can say regarding the games. I remember for Rebirth Nomura wanted to at least share some info during a random stream to ease the fans, but it ended up going through bunch of PR departments to get approval and he was basically not allowed to say almost anything other than it's going well and looking nice, etc.

I am just guessing they want to stay radio silent until the big re-reveal before they start doing constant stream of infos.

I am hoping once ML is about to come out, Nomura would do an interview with famitsu regarding ML, and somewhere in the interview they can touch on KH4.
