But I still think there’s a strong possibility what would have been Verum Rex is now Reynatis and that’s why Nomura, Nojima, and Shimomura are all supporting it.
I find that to be a shame, for the people who want it. I know it's art style, but boy it just looks so bad. Not to mention the animations are very stiff, and a lot of the cutbacks on full display.

As an aside, I do feel a bit sorry for the devs. We all want such different things, sometimes diametrically opposed to each other. It can't be easy to settle on a course.

That's why I'm always okay with whatever choices they make because they can't please everyone. If someone wants Frozen, another wants Cinderella, and only one can make it in, someone will be disappointed. I know there's some properties that I'd be disappointed in being included, and having to play through but I'd get over it because I know they made a choice that services the story they're wanting to tell, and not everything chosen for the game is for me. I've never particularly wanted Star Wars, someone else does. At the end of the day, it's whatever.

It's fine to be disappointed when something you don't like is included, but ultimately they have to make a decision, they have to play politics with Disney for choices and how to use characters, and they have to get a product out the door.

At least we know they do listen to feedback for their next projects :)

Yeah I honestly don’t know if I can bring myself to play it from the looks of the trailers. The TWEWY content is probably the only reason I’d currently consider supporting it. I’ll have to make a decision after the JP version comes out next month and we get some impressions. But I’m leaning more toward just reading a synopsis of the plot after it releases.

I think I'd read a synopsis. Maybe if the gameplay is actually amazing, and the story does go above and beyond that the limitations aren't felt, I'd bite. Or maybe PS+.

But the lack of a dub also makes me hesitant to buy it.

It'd be cool if in Unreality we get Disney Worlds that can't really happen in The Realm of Light
I kinda assumed that was already the case.

In my head, there are "real" Disney Worlds like Neverland, Olympus Colosseum, Halloween Town, Atlantica, etc. and then there's "fictional" Disney Worlds like Star Wars, Moana, Spider-Man, The Incredibles, Finding Dory, WALL-E, etc. (all just speculative, of course)

Not that they can't happen in the Realm of Light per-se, but just that they exist on the other side of Reality for whatever in-universe lore reason. I just see the concept of Unreality and Quadratum as a chance to expand on specific Disney Worlds that never got the cut in previous games; but in a new light. I expect a number of original worlds in Unreality too of course, like Radiant Garden.

As some who still DO want Verum Rex, my ideal scenario would be FF7R team making it after they are finished with FF7R projects, and KH team go straight to KH5 after KH4 to maximize the efficiency, a bit similar to FF7R team did.
I know this isn't going to happen but it's my wish lol.

Now that there isn't the weight of Xehanort, the Keyblade war, and a dozen disparate character arcs that need to be solved, I don't think any of you need to worry about Verum Rex/Versus XIII/Classic KH Disney stuff taking up too much time. There's room for both if you ask me.

You can contain Sora in Quadratum for a meaty portion of the game, maybe only letting him escape temporarily through some obscure means that let him be with Donald and Goofy before getting zapped back for more Quadratum stuff after clearing a world.

obviously not expecting KH stuff but I think there will be SE stuff like DQ.

Glad to see it’s a pretty decent length. Wasn’t expecting much with them winding down on first party releases. Wind Waker and Twilight Princess ports would be nice.

Hoping this will shape up the rest of SE’s 2024 calendar for us too. DQ Remake trilogy and maybe another Team Asano game. It’d be nice if they would finally reveal FFIX, but I think that’s more likely to release next year. Not expecting anything KH except the slim chance of CoM for GBA Online.

kind of surprised there's nothing about KHML. makes me wonder if D23 might be when they give a final trailer or something for it. I find it strange they're not hyping up KHML that much, but that might be a testament to the current development stage it's in or something.

Anyone else hoping for a 358/2 Days remaster?

I don't know if it'll ever happen but I'd pre-order it as soon as it's announced

Yeah I was hoping it would be out in time for D23, but that seems unlikely. It would have been cool to have special raids at the event and people who couldn’t attend in person could still teleport there in game to participate.

My guess is it’ll be out around September once it starts cooling down a bit. I hope we at least get an English dub if we have to wait until then.

Although I’d prefer a new title, I’d play it in a heartbeat. The only thing is it would kind of skew the idea of the existing collections being the definitive way to experience the series. I don’t really expect it to be something SE wants to invest in right now. I think they’d sooner remaster KH1 in KH3 graphics before they would consider Days.

I find it funny how KH is just one of those series where if it even dares to try breaking from "tradition" it gets slammed

If you even dare suggest a game where Disney isn't the primary focus for once[like they aren't GONE but just not that large of a focus], you get 20 people yelling that you apparently want Disney cut out entirely and also get "THE MULTIBILLION DOLLAR COMPANY OWNS KH KH WOULDN'T BE KH WITHOUT THE MULTIBILLION DOLLAR COMPANY"

And then you also get "WHY ISN'T SEPHIROTH HERE SEPHIROTH IS T R A D I T I O N"
