Well as far as his role goes. In Fantasia he was Mickeys master and teacher. And Mickey was his apprentice. Maybe he is the one who set King Mickey on his first quest to find out why the stars were blinking out. And also told him of the legend of the Keyblade. And since he is still missing I think Yensid shows up to kinda help point Sora in the right direction.

My thoughts exactly the master of Mickey in the movie Fantasia......i think thats the movie watch it but i dont remember seeing a good look at his face.

In Final Mix. The same voice guides Riku in Kingdom Hearts, and we see the voice is King Mickey.

Merlin showed the book to him in Travese Town but that doesn't mean it belongs to him. It really belongs to Yensid.

well since we see Sora in KH1 clothes with Yensid maybe Yensid is the guy who gives Sora his new KH2 clothes and teaches him about Drives.... and slowly as you go through the game (just like with the tournaments in KH1) he will slowly teach you more

Resons- he knows merlin because yensid gave merlin or to let him borow the 100 acr. woods world then he is the kinda like the master to king mickey so this means he most likly is the guy from the sor. app. the movie and that means he wears wizards cloth in the trailer he does wear wizard cloth so I can so im 90% sure that wizard in the trailer is yensid
