Why did it change?

Okay, I don't know if this has been answered already on this site but I must know.

After goig to google, I noticed that Riku's keyblade was different.

I didn't understand it.

In CoM it was Soul eater.
In KH2 it was Way to Dawn.

did it change because he had a different side? I mean because I chose Dawn over light, darkness and twilight?

I'm confused and I asked google and yahoo but nothing came up. Can you explain?

Soul Eater wasn't a Keyblade.
in KH2 his Soul Eater transformed into a Keyblade. No true explanation has been given yet.

And, like others said, it became a Keyblade with no explanation as to how, yet.

It is possible that the Way to Dawn is the Soul Eater, transformed through Riku's connection to the Keyblade that he was initially to be master of. Or, since the Soul Eater is created from the then current darkness in Riku's heart, and Riku finally decided to use both light and darkness, which he needed to use to wield the keyblade, the Soul Eater changed to reflect the change of heart within Riku.

Not a very reliable site sometimes but in this case I think we can say that this is as close to an explaination as we have right now.

It transform from it's original look to a new look.

Maybe Soul Eater is a subclass of weapon directly corresponding to a Keyblade.

well the soul eater was created from 6 PoH but it eventually transformed into a keyblade with its on keychain maybe it changed because of his decision to accept that he uses darkness and walks between dark and light or he is a chosen wielder of the keyblade

Yeah but he accepted the darkness when he fought Roxas for the second time but his keyblade still haven't changed.
