why no confirmation for PAL yet?

theres a thread here somewhere with an email from square-enix saying there are no plans to bring Re:CoM to europe...therefore PAL.
i am in the same position and am really annoyed :thumbdown:
we could just get swap magic, and import it from america but then many people, including myself cant do it that easily/cant afford it.
i sure hope they eventually decide to release it so its compatible with PAL. i dont have high hopes though.:closedeyes:

Dont worry it will come just wait. Oh and xx kari xx its not that hard to use a swap magic disc just use a flip top cover and, hey presto, it works!
I'll probably import it in January. How long did it take Square Enix Ltd to announce Kingdom Hearts II?
It was easy for developing, the development was cheap. Japan and NA both use NTSC, so they only had to dub them. PAL and this other one from France is way more difficult. And imo it would be contra productive.
PAL region = a video game publication territory covering Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and varying European countries.
NTSC = the video gaming region of North America.
And no, Re:CoM is NOT coming to Europe.
If you want it that bad, just import the thing.

PAL and NTSC have NOTHING to do with PS2s, regions or games AT ALL.
PAL is a color-encoding system that is used in European and Australian TVs. NTSC is the broadcast system and company used in the US and Asia. PAL typically uses a framerate of 50, while NTSC runs at 60 hz. Most PAL TVs can play games in 60 hz though. PAL TVs also typically have a higher resolution, and the pixels for the two standards have different shapes.
In other words, to release this in Europe they have to re-animate the entire game for the different framerate, and change the screen format for the game because of the different pixel size and resolution. This takes a LOT of work.
If you want an example of what happens when a NTSC game is simply converted to PAL without editing, look at FFX. The PAL release has black borders on the top and bottom of the screen, runs MUCH slower(When you run around Tidus looks like he's walking on the moon) and everything is all squished so that all the characters look fat. We don't want that in Re: CoM.
