The Oz books are in the public domain, so if they wanted to use it as a world they could even without Disney's takes on the series. The real issue would be staying far away from MGM's adaptation to not attract the ire of their lawyers (RIP ruby slippers) while not straying so far that it seems wrong to the audience.
Return to Oz seems to fit that bill. It’s more closer to the books while maintaining some elements from the classic tale we know. Apart from that, it’s the only messed up 80’s flick that was made by Disney and for kids besides Black Cauldron.

Earnest: I mean they haven't basically say, done anything that is basically "licensed TO disney"..YET. The only one that could be really counted as that is Tarzan, but the licensing issues haven't let them use that twice.

I finally got around to watching the trailer for Turning Red earlier (incredibly late to the party I know) and while I'll have to wait to watch the movie to determine whether I think it would be a good fit for a world or not, I will say that a Mei summon is practically guaranteed.
A Mei party member would be even better. This film has it all tbh

I haven't watched Turning RED yet, but the movie doesn't seem to fit KH. It looks like she's just going to school and it will be about her life being this red monster thing. I can see her as a summon, but I feel like Turning RED is one of the PIXAR movies that wouldn't really work. But after I watch it, I can actually comment on this.

It would work. No one wants to explore a video game version of Toronto.
That's the same reason why I don't like the idea of Marvel in KH.

He’s joking lol. Considering most Disney and Pixar films are based on real life locations, I don’t quite get what you mean.
We go to real life places in KH, even. Fantastical renderings of said places, of course, but Notre Dame is very much a real place in Paris for example. Actually we go to France in multiple worlds lol in the series. San Fransokyo, despite being a blend of Tokyo and SF, still has 90% of its identity in SF and has recognizable architectural features found in the city.
And if people get their wishes granted in future games, we can just as easily go to more like New Orleans (PATF), Colombia (Encanto), Hawaii (Stitch), New York (Gargoyles, Soul, American Dragon: Jake Long, a million other films and the series lol)…

I'm all for exploring real life locations in a Kingdom Hearts game as long as it's an interesting location to explore. A lot of Marvel heroes are based in New York so the odds that a Marvel KH world would be set in NY are pretty decent. And that's just not my idea of Kingdom Hearts. The only way I think Marvel could work is focusing on more fantastical locations such as Wakanda or Asgard.

I've said before I don't like PIXAR in KH and I do hope they only ever take up 1 or 2 slots in any given game at most, but, with that said, as far as the properties I'd like to see if forced to play through some PIXAR worlds regardless--Turning Red, Luca, The Incredibles, Inside Out, and Toy Story are the properties I could bear the easiest. Monsters, Inc. was one of those, too, but now it's done, I hope we don't re-visit, whereas Toy Story is one of those worlds like Pooh that has endless story potential. Elastigirl as a party member and Syndrome as a boss--gold. If they do the world without including Edna Mode in some capacity, that would be a complete waste of time. Celia and Waternoose missing from Monstropolis was bad enough, but not nearly as bad as Edna not appearing in an Incredibles world would be.
Coco would be okay visually, but I thought that one was just okay. Mostly I'm just thinking that my favorite parts of it (Miguel's grandmother and great grandmother in the living world) wouldn't really be a big part of the world, it would really just be Miguel and his great grandfather, both of whom were kind of annoying. They should make "Remember Me"'s melody into the general world theme if they ever do it though, I adore that song.
I suppose I could take a Finding Dory world with Dory and Hank as party members. I do like water worlds so the level itself would be a +, it's just Marlin's and Nemo's voices make my ears bleed for some reason and Marlin would probably be a party member. And, admittedly, having an archer like Merida from Brave as a party member (and I assume bear!Elinor would be a party member, too?) would be fun and Mor'du as a boss likewise. That said, I've just never been crazy about that movie even though I don't mind the characters themselves; it's odd to like the cast of characters, but not the movie itself, that's Brave for me though. Who knows, maybe a world based on the movie would be better than the movie itself.

But anyway, a world to do with Finding Nemo/Dory just feels like one of those that would be really hard to make work.
Like with a potential Cars world, there’s the practicality of Sora not having hands to use his Keyblade with, and I feel it’d be awkward for him to use his mouth in his scenario. There’s also the question of giving Sora a fish design that is still unmistakably him, not to mention Donald and Goofy (assuming they’d be tagging along).
I loved Turning Red but making the property a world is basically a less creative version of San Fransokyo. Then there's the fact that Pixar would want Square Enix to create an original story that can conveniently fit into the canon of Turning Red.
Personally, I wouldn't be against visiting Toronto back in the 2000s in a Kingdom Hearts game. The Panda spirit seems to be a creature that's easily influenced by emotions so it'd be an excuse to bring back the Unversed if Nomura wanted to.
