I think it's high time someone gives us more meaningful information about the X-blade other than what it looks like.

Who made it?
What does it do?
When was it made?
Where did it come from?
Why does Xehanort want it?
How does Xehanort intend to use it?
Is it the only one of its kind?

I don't want snide remarks like "the story-writers tossed it in as a plot device" and stuff like that. I want a good, full in-universe description of its backstory and role in the plot.

And I know it was destroyed, but that's exactly why I want to know more about it.
