could the new weapons simply be a redesing for the game though? make them look more...dangerous?

and these gear things, maybe miht not all be gifts from the org. i dont remember any org. fighting with wind? it could have been from one of the worlds... not necessarily given to roxas as a gift, maybe he finds them or something?

It's extra content added for Days. And just because they had them doesn't mean they had to fight with them. For all we know, for all the time we saw them through CoM and KH2, they had their upgraded/changed weapons.
