Im talking about the early episodes of Yu-gi-oh manga when they played RPG board game with BAkura. That last monster they fought in the board game resembled Obelisk.

I know, I read most of that story arc before Shonen Jump published it in english. (Gotta love scanlations) But Zork makes an appearance in the Egypt arc, and he has the name "Diabound" there.

Well i agree with strike raider because yu-gi-oh has to come back and pokemon is already way dead,so yu-gi-oh will most likely come back and kill duel masters.

Because America started with a Puritan government and we are schizophrenic on freedom of expression. At least that's the explanation my English teacher used...

4kids wants it to be the way that makes the most money and apparently screaming 7-year-olds is moreprofitable than teenagers.

I only watch the English version to laugh at it. When Yami Yugi said "Yugi! I need your light to keep me pure!" I fell off the couch laughing.

I despise the current Waking the Dragons story arc. It is HORRID! They make Yami Yugi look evil....he's actually quite nice. And by Ancient Egyptian standards he'd be a wuss almost. Killing people was normal behavior in that time age...and according to my friend on their wedding Egyptians would do it on the spot....I'm not sure if that's true.

Though honestly, the next arc is even worse. Jack Schneider the evil pink haired villain is horrible! YOU GET TO SEE HIS BOOTY! Okay, I'm immature and they'll probably cut that out in the English version.

Any story arc that they add in in the TV show usually sucks anyhow.

I rant excessively about the censoring of Yu-Gi-Oh! And I'll do it again!

I watched the Japanese version and when I saw cuss words and blood I was like "omigods!" and the world cracked open and I only watch the english version to laugh like an idiot over it(as I am always 50 episodes ahead of the english one at any given time)

One thing I despise greatly about the chopped version, as a Pagan type person, is that they blatantly put x's or somehow destroy or blur out the magic circles up until this seal of orichalcos part(ironically, the writing along the edges of the circle get credit for being Satanic writing and Satanists actually agree on that as far as the net goes. I downloaded a TTF to type with those letters from Teens for Satan Yahoo Group.)

I hate how they cut out guns, I mean...Bandit Keith just POINTING doesn't look threatening! Besides, if the villains use guns the little idiotic impressionable children will go "guns must be bad" unless they are one of those villain liking people, though except maybe for Marik none of the villains on Yugioh are very desirable to me.

Cutting cuss words I don't really mind, but cutting anything relevant to the word "death" drove me mad. I mean those five cards Bakura used spelled "Death" not "Final" in that Battle City Final Duel. What the heck is scary about the word final?! Unless it's referring to school finals! *cringe* And they always say "send you to the shadow realm" whether it means actually send you to the shadow realm or murder you. Like the Duel with Lumis and Umbra....they had DYNAMITE! DYNAMITE!!!!

I always thought that scene where Pegasus called his wine "fruit juice" was utterly hilarious....you know he's drunk to at least a little by the way he talks.(he sounds even more drunk in Japanese if you ask me)

The only thing about the english version I do like is Joey Wheeler's voice. He doesn't sound as great in French, Japanese, and Chinese....I've seen them all!

Yu-Gi-Oh! is probably the greatest sore spot of mine as far as disliking censors goes. Shaman King didn't get as murdered as much as I thought it could be. I always end up yelling at the tv on how on earth Shaman king gets to show blood to some extent and the ninja turtles are allowed to come near to death(not to mention they keep yelling "what the shell?!" which drives me insane for some reason. that's only one 's' sound away from hell too) while yugioh remains so dead...

Well, the show was originally just about friendship and games. (The only reason it isn't shown in the US is because Yami Yuugi was "Too Violent") Then the game "Magic & Wizards" made an appearance in the manga, and the fans liked it so much, that Seto Kaiba came back for revenge and the game then became the focus of the second, third and fourth seasons of the show.

The parts of the show that focus on Noah, and then the Doom series are, in my opinion, just filler to give the manga a chance to catch up with the show.

The Egypt arc then focuses on finding Yami's True Name to regain his memories. (I think, that's info from a taiwan site.) But those darn cards are still important.

So if you have problems with the card game being the focus, blame the fans.

I do have to say I laugh at what happens in it sometimes (even my bro). It is getting...pathetic. I've only read volume 1 of the manga...but that is much better than the anime so far. The Noah arc was annoying. They almost finish the tourny...and then Bam!, they're all kidnapped and start something new. Oh, the art in the Waking the Dragons is...crum. Well, how much longer do we have, wise one? This one is getting annoying, we...let's see, Yami and Yugi have "fought," oh, Seto Kaiba just joined them. That was last week. Add two eps (I haven't seem them yet), will it be over by summer?

kairigirl, We still have a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggggggggggggg while to go until Egyptian goodness.... all arcs not in the manga are full of unncessary horrible senseless dueling and general nonsensicalness we really don't need and unecessary destroying of Yami Yugi's personality....

Oh yes, and on a totally unrelated note, I think I kinda like Valon....it's so cute how he has a sort of crush on Mai. Evil dudes really aren't allowed enough of a love life usually. The voice caster of Yu-Gi-Oh! in English has a really bad habit of making people have random accents though...





Spoilers colored in navy in a pathetic attempt to cover them, though honestly, Yu-Gi-Oh! since it generally includes risking of one's life or the fate of the universe, you sort of know what will happen....it's just the 'how' that I watch.

Well, once we get to kicking all of Dartz's minion's butts, we have to get to killing Dartz naturally. Seto and Yami join up to kick Dartz's butt in an unnecessarily long and unneccessarily full of "omigods! I have ANOTHER!!!! special ability!" And we find out Dartz's dark deep dark secret....he was King of the Lost City of Atlantis!(honestly, I thought the captions were glitching on me! it was that horrible!) and apparently he came to the conclusion humans are sinful wastes of oxygen after everyone in his kingdom turned into monsters for some reason I faill to remember. And so....he destroys his own kingdom. He's kept himself immortal for some time with this soul catching insanity. Well after this loooooooooooooooong and evillly loooooooooooooong duel. Well, something just HAD to go wrong! Dartz does the magical villainous "I've come back from the dead w00t!" And so Yami promptly kicks his butt again we go through this somewhat unecessary talk about how Yami was supposedly "evil"(which I don't believe, and if I haven't said earlier, he'd account for a wuss in ancient world standards if you ask me.) and after a while Dartz is dead for good.

Now, one thinks, NOW can we go to Egypt?!

Well, unfortunately not...now this pink haired maniac named Jack Schneider decides to crash on Kaiba's party and Yugi, being the good Sumeritan he is, just had to help....and yet more time is wasted. For you English viewers, thankfully you don't have to see Jack Schnieder's horrrribly unbeautiful butt!

Yeah, I saw this morning..well, yesterday's. I've figured out their system. Duels take 2-3 eps. That's a typical one. Then, the big ones can take up to 6 eps! Which means that they're mailny crummed full of crud and talk. And impossible duels that should take at the most one hour...not 6 episodes. And now...we're only two eps into Valen's and Joey's duel.

A pink haired punk? Gracious.

That would really suck if the show got canceled before they got to the Egypt Story-Arc, especially since it survived the disaster that is Noah.
