disregard the title, couldnt think of what to put
that came to mind
its a song by coconut records.very good.

anywayssss

lately, i've been feeling weird.blank mostly.i was driving around earlier and realized that i'm just kinda a mirror.
like, whatever mood is around me, thats how i am
whatever music i listen to, that sets my mood and everything
when i hangout with friends, i'm fun.but when im at home, i stick to myself and dont talk to people

and i kinda just go with it really

and i also realized that i tend to ruin things for myself.
was in a band with a friend, but i left
was with my girlfriend for a year and a half, and i left that
not gonna get into that stuff
but damn

i feel hollow, like a mirror
i dont care if it's a dumb comparison, i'll use it anyways
i just don't know how to get out of it
cuz i just go with it, i don't mind it really
but for some reason, it bugs me
any suggestions?

Once you set your own goals and ambitions, you become stronger as a person, you gain a stronger mind, and thus, you become less easily influenced.

If you don't want to be a 'hollow mirror', find what you want in life, and in the process, you'll find yourself.

I used to be like you...

then I got worse.

I'm sorry I'm laughing, but I just couldn't help but laugh.

Sorry. ><

I'm sure you'll find that drive to do something again, I was a little like that for a while, and thinking about it made me depressed because I felt as if I was just some robot and whatever ran through my mind was just... "What should I do now? What am I supposed to do? Don't I have something to do?" And for a while I even didn't want to hang out with my friends because I was a little depressed from that.

I've even had dreams of myself being lifeless, similar to when Kairi didn't have her heart because her heart was with Sora, so in my dreams my body was just an empty shell. But eventually you'll no longer feel 'hollow' as time passes, if you are like me. :)

Dead in a gorge.
I was feeling like you the other day. My friend told me that we really aren't (emotionally) hollow, our brains just trick us into thinking that we are. I was confused by what he meant because I honestly found it hard to enjoy anything. Later, thinking about it, I thought that the hollow feeling was caused either by an underlying fear, loss, or unfulfillment. By what you said, i'd gather you don't feel motivated. Try looking into a hobby that you really like ( painting, music, designing, video games etc.) and practice it. The feeling you get when you've completed a great drawing or played a great song or whatever could help fill the void and could even help you become more motivated to do whatever it is with more ambition. Just focus that feeling on what ever it is that you're not too sure about.

The emulations of moods is normal. Everyone does it, but at times people tend to emulate them more. That may be linked to a number of things, including the motivational stuff.

Thats all the advice I have. I hope it helps in any way it can if you choose to follow it.

Maybe, in order to alleviate yourself of this 'hollowness' immerse yourself in something you enjoy. Find a new hobby. It will keep your mind off of your emptiness.

Things will work out, as long as you believeeeeee.

I know it sounds corny but believing does help...

that's because its funny. lol

Oh! I thought it was meant to be serious haha XP

And you could do this too. :) I don't have any hobbies except listening to music so I don't really know but it would help.

its funny though.

you get used to it, then it becomes less of a self conflicting problem.

thanks everyone for the good advice
i'd say my main hobby is music
i love music
i listen to it almost 24/7
but sometimes the slow songs make me feel empty and everything
and i just stick to those types of songs
but its not a hate thing, i love all the music i listen to
when i started this thread i was listenin to just Mumford and Sons for about a week haha
amazing stuff, just most of it made me feel blah
but i go through musical phases
now im listening to modest mouse and gnarls barkley
which makes my mood pretty good haha
and i also play guitar!just wrote a song earlier
it takes me forever to write stuff, but i love learning covers and writing songs
so i just need to jump back into guitar more
thanks again everyone, you're all truly helpful and i really appreciate it
