E3 2017: What we hope to see from Kingdom Hearts 3

It has been 15 years since Kingdom Hearts originally released on the Playstation 2. In the first three months of 2017, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue and Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX both released on the Playstation 4, and mobile game Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ was revamped into Kingdom Hearts Union χ.
There's only one piece of the puzzle left for the Kingdom Hearts anniversary. There has been a suspicious absense of Kingdom Hearts 3 news, with only less than a handful of screenshots released to tide fans over. E3 2017 is just a few short weeks away and the Kingdom Hearts Insider site staff have weighed in on what they would like to see at E3.
I love seeing how the Osaka team is getting a better grasp at developing KH3 with the Unreal Engine 4, as their expertise comes primarily from developing for handheld consoles. The character models haven‘t looked their best so far, but they‘ve definitely been improving over time and I certainly hope they look well at this year‘s E3.
Dream Drop Distance presented us with a bit of a messy story in my opinion, and it feels like everyone‘s just automatically going to magically return in KH3 without it feeling satisfying. A nice, Nomura directed E3 trailer that shows us they‘re taking detailed care of KH3‘s story will definitely help alleviate my worries! I just hope it doesn‘t spoil 98% of the story like most trailers unfortunately do.
As for other titles I‘m certainly looking forward to the FF7 Remake. Who knows if they‘ll present to us a "dream team" developed FFXVI as well, directed by Hiroyuki Ito and maybe even some other desirable names too?- Gexus
It's been a good long while since we've seen any content from Kingdom Hearts 3. With talk that development has progressed more on content that hasn't been revealed, what they can show is what they can't and vice versa, I'd be more than happy to just see the obvious.

I'm excited for E3 this year, but in a different way to previous years. Instead of just expecting some sort of Kingdom Hearts presence, perhaps due to my own growth or otherwise, I have this incredible anticipation, while also harbouring a sort of blank mind. I would like to see Kingdom Hearts, but at the same time it's not such a huge deal if I don't. In my eyes, E3 is a time to gather with my friends and collectively laugh and joke about the crazy presentations put out by all the big name companies, as they continuously try to one-up each other.
I try to not create any sort of expectation, however simply experience the event in its purest and simplest form. A bit like when I was younger. Which is interesting, the growth I mentioned before may perhaps be a return to purer thought. Sometimes, it's better to face reality as is, and to feel the moments as they come, free from the complexity of our own minds.
That being said though, I do believe Nomura has had something brewing for quite a while now...- Saken
It's been such a long time since we last saw KH3 that I would like a new trailer to showcase the story. I remember watching the E3 trailer in 2015 and being in awe that we were witnessing an actual English-spoken cutscene from KH3 and I want to experience that feeling again.
In terms of gameplay and other elements I am DESPERATE to see the Disney denizens. Show me Rapunzel, show me Hercules, show me Baymax. I could do without seeing Attraction Flow though. We’ve seen a few of them and I’d rather the rest be kept a surprise because it feels like every secret in a video game is shown pre-release.
I’m also excited to hopefully see footage from Insomniac’s Spider-Man (Release date please!!!) and I feel like Final Fantasy VII Remake is a given. I’m very excited for that one.- Chaser
I am not sure what to expect, and am just looking forward to surprises rather than anything in particular, but I bet when that music starts playing I will be filled with emotions all over again!

Ever since the reveal of the suitcases in 0.2 and the promotional Key Art for KHUX, I’ve wanted to see Riku, Kairi, and Mickey’s new outfits. Maybe Lea will have one too?
Gameplay footage from guest party members or even Summons would be great; particularly Rapunzel's hair animated in battle or Sora flying on Baymax. It's been quite a while since we've seen a new Final Fantasy cameo.
I think I’d like to see another form aside from Power Form and Guard Form. Magic Form? Tsum Tsum Form?
Other than Kingdom Hearts III, I’ve been anticipating more news for Dragon Quest XI and Final Fantasy VII Remake! Due to FF7R's episodic nature, I have a feeling we may hear something soon.- Zephyr
I've been so busy with life that I haven't had time to really think about E3—or Kingdom Hearts for that matter—until now. I want nothing more for Kingdom Hearts 3 to finally have a new trailer.
It is the 15th anniversary of Kingdom Hearts so it feels so weird that this year has been so silent besides the concerts and Union X [Cross]. This would be the perfect time to have an explosion of news to hype the fans up and truly start the celebrations of the anniversary year.
Give us story, give us Riku and Kairi, give us Rapunzel whipping Heartless with her hair. Throw Lann and Reynn from World of Final Fantasy in or Laguna Loire from Final Fantasy VIII as Final Fantasy guests. Anything will get us excited, just as long as it is new and substantial.
As for what else I'd want to see, I would love to see some news about Project Octopath Traveler or Final Fantasy VII Remake (can I hope for The World Ends With You 2?)
And I'm already excited to see what Nintendo, Sony, Ubisoft, and other companies will show us this year. All I know is that I'll likely continue to be poor for years to come thanks to this year's E3 showing.- Master Spockanort

I just want to see more of Corona and San Fransokyo in gameplay. With possibly Rapunzel and Hiro/Baymax as party members.
And one of two world reveals would be nice, lol.
At this point we better get things that are not Sora and Attraction Flow. Gimme more footage of previously announced worlds (and in the case of San Fransokyo, footage in general) and finally show their residents. Give us Riku, Kairi, and Lea in their new outfits. Give us some Xehanort, and maybe give us some Marluxia since it's already been hinted at that he's in the game. If any of those things happen I'll be satisfied.

I am with those though who pine for at least a glimpse of some Disney characters, mainly to see how far they improved with the models since 0.2.
I'm sceptic of any story trailer anyways since when I remember the BBS and DDD Trailers Square has a habit to reveal way too much in story trailers so it would be better if there is no story trailer at all.
If they show off San Fransokyo we might get a clue if the world's will have actual NPCs or just the same standard empty locations.

Couldn't agree more, we've already seen Yen Sid, Mickey, Donald and Goofy rendered in the Kingdom Shader, so let's finally see what the Disney Animation Studios characters look like. Nomura said that the Kingdom Hearts shader was designed for the "Disney brush stroke" sort of feel, I want to see that realised with the Disney characters.
It would be incredibly impressive if they really could really make the Disney characters models look on par with their Disney film counterparts.
Like i have a hard time imaging the unreal 4 model of Rapunzel looking close to this with how the models currently look.
You know, even if the KH3 panel doesn't meet my expectations, I'd be pretty content. I already have shows, songs, and other games to keep me company.
My main expectation is a year posted at the end of the trailer. But you know, even if it doesn't I can't scream and shout. I'd rather focus on the better sides that E3's gonna pull out this year. :D

on a serious note, anything new would make me happy. big hero 6 gameplay, mount olympus gameplay, story, music, absolutely anything and everything new would leave me satisfied, especially if we were given a release window.
I don't have predictions. What I have are insane, incredibly implausible dream scenarios that have no chance of happening but damn if it wouldn't be cool if they did. So I'm indulge in reai world fanfiction for a minute:
KH3 doesn't just get a trailer at E3, it makes new gameplay/world/character reveals at each of the 1st party presentations. Yes Sony, Microsoft, & Nintendo all getting KH3 love!
Starting with the XBox conference, KH3 is 1 of the games shown to demonstrate the power of the Scorpio. No one's given a damn about KH3 being an XB1 title until now & now the time to change that. The theme of the XBox trailer is This is Kingdom Hearts 3 at it's very best. Because afterall the Scorpio is by default the most advanced system that the game will be released on. The trailer shows the Toy Story world, with visuals nearly on par with the movie itself. Sora, Donald, & Goofy are turned into a Gundam kit model, rubber duck, & a wind-up toy dog respectively. Pete shows up near the end as a large plush doll. New weapon drives & attraction flows are introduced. Everyone leaves happy & content thinking they've all there is for KH3 this year.
Then the next day Sony blindsides them all with even more KH3 reveals. The theme of the Playstation trailer is We're large & in-charge & we've got the coolest shit! This is reinforced by this trailer showing the 1 world that would get more mainstream attention than any other: Star Wars. But oh, there's no Sora here. For this is where Square finally drops a bombshell they've been hiding up til now: there are other playable characters. We see Riku & King Mickey. trudging the deserts of Tatooine, battling storm troopers & new heartless along the way. The quick shots of the duo meeting Luke & R2 & them getting on board the Millennium Falcon get crowd so hype up they don't even fully notice at first that the Riku gameplay is CoM card-based. Yes, it seems each of the playable characters has completely different battle systems, with the purpose of covering the series history so that KH3 feels ever more the culmination of all that's transpired so far. Mickey& Luke are present as on-field party members but friend cards activate team-up moves.
At this point there's some speculation on various forums about the possibility of yet another reveal during Nintendo's direct. However most people will ultimately write that, believing that the tablet wouldn't be powerful to run the game & after Riku & Aqua there's no other viable characters anyway. Well suffice to say KH3 on Switch is confirmed, though the footage shown isn't running on the actual hardware yet since the full support for Unreal 4 only just now became available. The Switch trailer's theme is Hey um, we can play too guys! We are shown Kairi with her new party members Minnie & Daisy on a snowy hilltop looking at the ice palace of Elsa off in the distance. Rapid-fire scenes showcase the story from Kairi's perspective: her training in the hyperbolic time chamber, What happens to Lea after finishing his training, the Impetus of her new journey, the introduction to her new party members. Gameplay shows her battling in Twilight Town, Corona, & Arendelle. Her gameplay is the Command Deck. The big highlight of the trailer is the boss battle with Marshmallow, with flowmotion antics happening in-front of, in, on, & all over the ice palace as the monster pursues her. The hinting of another bossfight with Elsa serves as the stinger.
All three characters are going to be playable in all versions of the game, there's no platform exclusive content. Square just wanted to each hero ample time to show off & presenting at all 3 events was deemed the best way of doing that. The HD remixes are all announced for XB1 & Switch for late 2017, to give those players something to tide them over until KH3's 2018 release.

Really hoping for anything at this point. A trailer would be amazing to have right now to show off worlds, characters and some gameplay. I don't know about them showing a release date yet. Maybe a year like 2018? I don't want to them to rush kh3 and not being fully complete like alot of games this console generation. If they add some form of dlc like costumes I'm with that and some story expansion that you can play as like riku or someone.

Obviously a trailer. The delusional part of me would like to see a playable demo, but that obvs won't happen (I see it happening at JF though). I WANT to see a release window, but I'm 50/50 on that actually happening. Some new concept art would be great as well.

I believe strongly that they will show a trailer, and might I stress out that it will be a trailer, not a new trailer. Of course I hope and I wish they gave us something new to be excited about but what I'm sure about is a trailer, maybe what we've already seen but refined, maybe as you guys say: a Disney character.
I am stoked to see Disney on UE4 and see how they animate and handle everyone else that's not The King and co.
As for other things at E3? Maybe this is dumb but it'll be cool if they had KH3 promotional posters and all that sort of stuff at the entrance and the insides of E3.
And sorry but I don't think FF on KH3 will be a thing this E3, it would be SOOOOOOO cool to see Noctis on it, but it is NOT going to happen, at least my heart tells me.

The last trailer was shown two years ago, casual consumers and general gamers aren't all that focused on Kingdom Hearts III because it isn't consistent enough to maintain their attention. You remember Cuphead? Kingdom Hearts III is like Cuphead in terms of consumer interest, people love what they see, but the game hasn't entered its marketing phase.

I'm honestly not expecting anything. And I would prefer a half minute cutscene with lots of gameplay instead of Square spoiling me the story.

Screw the small stuff, go all the way and show off Marluxia's somebody, Lumiair. That'll really get people talking about the game. But if we're being realistic, I suppose we can see Vexen's nobodies in a Frozen world. After all, Vexen is based of the ice element and Frozen's theme speaks for itself.
As far as Lexeaus, Zexion's and Larxene's nobodies go, I can see Zexion's in a Princess and The Frog world as Zexion and Dr. Facilier are associated with dark magic, Lexeaus can be in an Atlantis world because Lexeaus is associated with earth and heavy duty, just like the heavy duty steampunk machinery used in Atlantis, and Larxene's nobodies can be in Big Hero 6 as she's associated with electricity, and Big Hero 6 is a contemporary world based on technology, which is powered by electricity.
As I've read somewhere on this thread, what I'm most certain they'll show if they show something, are the Drive Forms. I mean, what is the only thing they've shown to us via """""""updates"""""""? Drive forms.
To me it'd make a lot of sense to see how they actually work and look. Plus, Sora talking, I wanna see him animated, something, battle cries, anything in the action of battle. I'd like to see if they can pull off a dynamic battle system that feels alive.

If we don't get a trailer with some story elements in it I'll be kind of disappointed. I'd also love to get a glimpse at some of the worlds we haven't seen yet (like BH6 and possibly another unannounced world). I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much, but I have a feeling it's going to be a pretty exciting E3.

Above all else, as many have stated, I just want a new trailer. We're long overdue for something new and I have got to see how this game is looking as of now. I also hope and believe that we will receive some sort of release date at the end of this new trailer. Whether it be a specific date or just the year, this game has to be getting close to it's release, so now is the time to go all out with promotion and finishing this sucker up.

Hm. I just noticed a pattern.
2013: KH3 appeared at E3 and had info followed by another trailer at D23.
2014: 2.5 was the focus, and there was only a small bit of KH3 at the end of the 2.5 E3 trailer.
2015: KH3 appears at E3 with a full trailer, followed by information, a world reveal at D23 Anaheim, a full event at the Japanese D23, with the trailer there being added on to the 2.8 trailer at Jump Festa.
2016: 2.8 has full spotlight with a very very tiny bit of KH3 at the end, news for KH3 was dry.

Ten days till Sony's E3 conference. OwO
While I think seeing KH3 at E3 this year is a given, it's wise to manage expectations. The game is still a ways out and we have at least one TGS, if not two, and likely another E3 before the game releases. SE loves their trailers, so we'll definitely get something, and while I would love to see gameplay on a new world, I wouldn't be shocked if we just got a CGI trailer instead.
This is an incredibly important game for Square Enix, so we're bound to see their big marketing push coming soon, but with so many trade shows left before release, I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get a ton of details in terms of gameplay and new world reveals. If we do see a new world though, I would expect it to be Frozen. I bet we'll also get a release window/year, such as Late 2018 or just Coming 2019.
I'd love to actually see gameplay in San Fransokyo. I want to see what that world looks like, I want to see how drive forms, key blade transformations, and attraction flow work in greater detail. I want to see how movement works in the game. I'd also love to see something like a Moana world, but again, I don't really think it's fair to expect any of that just yet.

Of course, they could just do what they did last year and release a trailer/teaser online early.

In my personal opinion, it will 100x more a shock to me if Kingdom Hearts doesn't have any presence whatsoever at this E3 than if it does. I think as well, considering where the series is now and the timings, it would be borderline crazy for Square Enix not to take advantage of the E3/Sony hype platform this time around to get ball rolling for a game they know we have hardly seen anything of as of late. That doesn't mean we will get a 5 minute + trailer for it, but I really do think we are seeing it come a weeks time.

No chance we see something new at the panel with Geoff. I think it'll be more akin to what news sites do, like showing extended gameplay demos of small titles or titles previously announced. The only way we'd see KH3 outside of a conference is in an announcement outside of E3 altogether. That said, I think you'll see a trailer during Sony's conference. You won't see Nomura himself at Sony's conference, as Sony already confirmed that the conference will be primarily video and software based like last year.
Game is still a ways off so I wouldn't expect some huge blown out trailer or special announcement. A small teaser or gameplay demo is likely, with a release year at most. While I think it'll be there, I wouldn't be floored if it didn't show up at all.

If this is referring to E3, then of course fans can be disappointed, especially if the games don't show. Anyone who thinks FF7R will be shown at E3 this year is being incredibly too hopeful, it has no chance in the world of being there. KH3 is a 50/50 shot of showing up too, and if it's not there it didn't exactly take an expert to predict it (I still think we'll see it though).
Also, who is the leaker? Are they credible with past leaks? Do we know what company their source even comes from? It's hardly legitimate.

Ugh, I hate leaks. They get me paranoid.
If the game failed to show up at E3 after the whole Winter Announcement farse, selling a prologue for the game at full price (admittedly with a mediocre KH game and a pointless movie bundled) AND being 4 years after announcement, well, yes it would be just a itty bit concerning.
I don't see how it is a problem if the game isn't shown at E3 though. If the game isn't ready to be shown, why should it be shown? Sure, you could draw into concern the game's development, but we have absolutely no idea as to the game's progress. The marketing campaign for games has been getting shorter and shorter. I would much rather not be led on for year with a trailer each year, and instead be shown more concrete and in depth information leading up to release.
They announced the game before it started development to show fans that it existed. They wanted fans to know that it was the next step for them, and they showed it again in 2015 to simply show that development had started and that the game was indeed real. While maybe not the best marketing strategy, they wanted fans to know that their wait for the game since 2005/06 was slowly coming to a close, not that the game was anywhere near fully playable or close to being finished.

It hasn't been present for the past 5 years. There's only been 4 E3s since it was announced, and it was only present in 2013, 2014, and 2015. It did not make an appearance last year at E3. I already said why it didn't come out in Winter 2017, which could actually still happen, since winter begins on Thursday, December 21, 2017. Fans got the 1.5+2.5 collection for the anniversary gift, and if the game doesn't show at E3 that doesn't mean it won't show at all. We could see it at Jump Festa, where we've seen it before, or TGS.

No worries. I wouldn't worry about what other people say so long as you enjoy it. I hope KH3 is at E3 too, but won't be surprised if it isn't.
I say just watch E3 and enjoy it for all of the games. It's my favorite time of the year and there's going to be so much cool software there. KH3 would be icing on the cake, but if it doesn't show, that means we'll just get to see it later. I don't even get the complaints myself. SE shouldn't have announced so early, but it doesn't make the game bad.
Now that I think about it, it's possible that so called leak could just be predictions and opinions disguised as a leak. No one on the GAF thread even bothered asking about the leaker's source either aside from that one guy wondering what they said about the possibility of DMC 5, which the leaker replied that they didn't know, but they'll tell them all about SE's lineup. I mean Kingdom Hearts as a franchise, not KH3. In fact 2011 is the only year I remember where they had nothing to show or tell at E3 after the series was widely expanded.
Let's assume they have nothing to show for KH3 this year, not really much you can do about it but the classy way to deal with it is to tell your fans, just like Insomniac did with Spider-Man at PSX and Shenmue 3 guys at this years E3 (and many, many other developers and games across multiple events including Square announcing they wouldn't show FFXV at E3 2015).
Fans expect KH3 at the event and there is every reason to, if you cannot deliver just say so in advance to lessen the blow and explain your position. Worst thing they could do is just keep quiet and nothing happening.

Can definitely see that happening again. I am prepared for it not to be there as there are so many other games to keep an eye on but it really will be strange if Square/Nomura turn up empty handed with this one.

The game just lost its developer and director and is probably going through some major changes. They wouldn't have even had time to build anything new to show.

Of course the game will be huge, but how many games does Sony want to show that won't be out for years still? Dreams? KH3? Death Stranding? The optimist in me thinks that KH3 will be ready to go this fiscal year. I.e. if development keeps moving 'smoothly' and according to plan for the rest of this year, the game will release no later then the end of March 2018 (To be more specific, let's say Friday 30th March Worldwide).
That would mean therefore that although that is potentially not too far away, does that mean Square want to really kick things off next week. I think they do but it's a question of whether they are planning to do what FFXV did and do an exhaustive round trip to all the upcoming summer and fall expos ending with Jump in December by which point I think we should expect for the exact release date to be public knowledge.
This is all hypothetical and at this point in time, almost pipe-dream level stuff, but I don't think it is out of the question to assume (according to what little we do know about the game and those interesting financial slides for the future of the company) that Square knows for sure now what date they want to hit and that with the their winter line up for this year Currently looking sparse, that maybe they would want KH3 in there as their end of financial year AAA release to make the bookies and fans happy all at once.
Unless of course....they think something like Dragon Quest XI or a potential Dissidia PS4 will be enough.

Yes, the kickstarter project that was announced 2 years after Kingdom Hearts 3. Also they had the decency of announcing they won't be attending E3 (as did Nomura's brother in announcing games too early: Hideo Kojima with Death Stranding skipping E3).

Square's silence on this either says a lot or nothing at all. This game could either be far along or still dwindling along steadily. This was the hilarious duality with Tabata and his constant updates and percentages of game completion with FFXV compared to now Nomura's: 'development is moving along' spiel.
If nothing happens this weekend then there will definitely be some things to think about if Square stay silent throughout E3 on this game. Not worried yet. Almost.

KH3 hasn't even been on my radar lately because I've been brutally dissappointed the last 3 or so times I was hoping to see something KH3 related. Also trying to finish KH2FM on PS4 has been keeping my attention away. KH3 is still a myth to me. SE actually promoting the game would be weird.
If I had to guess something, basic story trailer showing off a few scenes (3 or 4) and gameplay we've seen from the relatively recent screenshots we've seen. As for new worlds, who the f#%k knows. I'd guess Agrabah, Toy Story or Jungle Book if there had to be something.
in hindsight, 0.2's performance and general level of quality were quite disappointing. if SE can show a KH3 with a sturdy framerate and high animation quality, I will be quite happy.
To be honest, I haven't paid much mind to KH lately. Been to lazy to actually go back to any of the games nor do I have much to say about it because I've been disconnected for so long. But if there's anything I want from KH3, it's something that enough to reinvigorate my interest. Alongside that, Papa Nomura must deliver my equipment stuff back. No more abilities. So I translated a tweet from aibo, and that tweet was basically Nomura's "I'm not going to E3" statement. KH13 and Churro say that it says that he's going to another event, but when I translated it, unfortunately through Google translate and Bing translate, it did say that he was coming to the US, so yeah he's going to another event obviously, but both of the translations stuck out to me. Google's translation said that he was coming for a bad day, while the Bing translation had Nomura saying that he might have to get

Of course it doesn't prove anything, they could have just gotten lucky on one of their bullshit guesses. I wouldn't completely ignore it though. Honestly if he actually knows things, I think my guess is that we'll get a new trailer similar to the last one with locations we haven't seen (i.e. the mount Olympus screenshot and San fransokyo) and a cut scene or two, but then we get the dreaded "now in development" and that's what we'll be disappointed about.

E3 Sony Conference - I think they would pair KH III trailer with a new Dissidia trailer. We'll get a release year, not a date. The VA whom plays Ansem suggested we won't get a release date. A release year though I think has a solid chance. Also the new Marvel game will be revealed with a title and everything.
Concert- More than likely it would be on Saturday when they would reveal a new trailer. As that's the first concert in USA.

I completely disagree. I think when Nomura said he had a release date already in mine it was end of 2017. However that was moved to the following year. FF VII Remake is likely gonna be scheduled for 2019/2020. As that article said they're running into issues. As far the Avengers title, that one doesn't even have a name yet. It's probably gonna be officially revealed at E3.

Yeah, you're right, but I'm mostly speaking about that one part of the fandom that have incredibly high expectations over a video game trailer and believe that they've been waiting ten years. Should've picked my words better.
That certain part of the fandom has almost always incredibly high (overblown?) expectations and is in the same vein almost always complaining the loudest.

I don't know how to feel about that leak. The closer E3 gets, the more pessimistic I become. Hopefully I'm surprised.
I feel like that's the reason that leaker even showed up. To make people feel pessimistic.
And besides, they have no real evidence and their so-called sources are just "my sources". No elaboration on who or what those sources are, no evidence on if they're trustworthy.
Also, they said that the Avengers project would be at E3, despite it being said that said project won't get news and info until 2018.
They also said that Square would talk about how Dragon Quest IX wouldn't be coming to Switch even though Square said that the Switch version is still a thing and will be talked about after the other versions are released.

That's the best part. There's going to be positive no matter what. Either we get new KH3 news to discuss and salivate over, or there will be pages and pages of meltdowns from people that still think this game has a chance of coming out next spring. I'm going to be entertained regardless.
Eh, I`ll be starting my summer job next week so I`ll be either too busy or too tired to stress or follow what`s happening at E3. I`ll probably catch all the news later after work which is a bit sad, since I remember how fun it was to comment and react to stuff live in 2015.

I'm in two musicals, I'm working a new job, getting my financial information together to go into an apartment with some friends, getting ready for classes, and dealing with a multitude of familial issues (nothing crazy). And y'know, I'm still going to be reduced to a jabbering incoherent ape when E3 comes along, because that's fun for me, and I will certainly be slinging bananas and feces at my screen if KH3 shows up.

I'd assume there are 3 ways it could go: posted immediately after the first concert to combat any crappy phone uploads, posted after the Sony conference if it appears there also or posted after all the LA concerts are over to keep it as an ''exclusive look'' for a while.

That said, the most copies of any individual game was Kingdom Hearts at 5.9 million copies, and that's on a console that has sold 155 million copies. Granted, that number is a bit off because KH probably sold a lot of its copies before the PS2 hit those numbers, but PS4 has sold less than half of that number, so the install base is much smaller than the console on which the best selling KH game was sold on two generations ago. KH is bigger than a lot of people give it credit, but the series drop off is incredibly strong, it isn't nearly as popular as it once was.
The God of War series, which Sony will be showcasing at E3 this year, reached the 21 million coirs-sold milestone back in 2012, and with remasters factored in, is at least as large as KH in terms of sales. Gran Turismo, which is being shown at E3, reached 76.5 million copies sold in 2015, so is over three times larger than KH. Call of Duty Black Ops 3 released in 2015 and sold 32.5 million copies, whereas the game before that, Advanced Warfare, sold 24.5 million copies. In November of 2015, just a year after Destiny released, it registered 25 million players. All of these titles will be shown at E3, along with titles of similar magnitude. While KH3 has shown up before, as well as other niche games and small announcements to please small subsets of fans, it simply cannot stand against those other juggernauts at a conference that is all about the money.
That's not to mention that trends are indicating that these are going to be the largest sales numbers in the franchise for God of War, Call of Duty, Destiny, and other games as well. With Square having their concert two days before all of the news surrounding those massive games hit, it make a lot more sense for them to show it at the concert than at Sony's press conference.
The casual fans won't care or know about the "mythical" element of KH3, as they haven't been waiting 10+ years for it. The attention of those gamers will be absolutely vital to SE, and releasing the trailer before Microsoft and Sony have their conferences is a surefire way to grab at least some of that attention.
Smaller games and games of similar sizes of KH have has trailers and reveals all week this past week to get ahead of the blockbuster titles too. There's no justifiable reason why KH shouldn't do the same if they even have something to show this weekend at all. KH's status as a mid-level multiplatform third party game puts it in a prime spot to draw in a bigger audience before E3.
Don't mistake my analysis for skepticism though, I'm still exceptionally excited and will be one of the first people to express hype at the first sight of any KH trailer. I'm hoping we get something great this weekend, but the games industry is a complicated beast.

So why did Square show Hitman, NieR, World of Final Fantasy, FFXV, FF7R on Sony stage events when they knew Call of Duty ect. would be there?

Depending on how their site works it might not be that simple.
When new press marketing materials are uploaded, the listings get updated with 'new'. However there have been times when it gets the 'new' status but there's nothing in there (like how it is right now) and more often then not nothing actually goes live. It might be a fault in the system where a slight tinkering with something could reset the status as was the case less than a week ago:

Yea there's no real evidence of anything tonight. I hope no one is actually expecting anything. It's fine to be hyped up at the possibility, but understand that any of the alleged insiders are shaky to doubtful in trustworthiness at best.

I think it is more likely to show up at the concert than at the press conference as I've explained in posts before.
I think it is even more likely to see the game at neither of them and then see it at TGS in September or Jump Festa in December. That doesn't mean we won't see it this weekend, but if it doesn't there's no reason to panic.
Luckily we won't have long to find out either way.

I can see SE throw out a trailer now and show something bigger in an upcoming event like TGS. E3 would be cool and all, but I'd rather not have them force something there.
God all this suspense is killing me! A trailer could drop tonight, it could drop during the Sony conference, or it could not drop at all. I'm trying to stay rational and trying not to let my hopeless optimism disappoint me for the billionth time, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't getting more and more excited the closer we get to E3 (I want KH3 news and reveals but I am mostly just excited for E3 in general).

Yikes haha. The music the orchestra played is typically about an hour and 12 minutes I believe, so coupled in with all the other stuff they do and an intermission if there is one, I'd say an hour and 45 minutes at the most.

I believe the concert starts in about 3 and a half hours. If it's like Union X, it would be uploaded and made available during the actual concert. If it is at the concert but not uploaded, it might drop at one of the regular PR times which is, in my local time zone (AEST), 11pm, 1am, 3am.
If it is at the concert and nothing is uploaded, I say wait for Microsoft or Sony conferences.
I can see SE throw out a trailer now and show something bigger in an upcoming event like TGS. E3 would be cool and all, but I'd rather not have them force something there.

The Kingdom Hearts Orchestra seems more fitting because it's been designed for Kingdom Hearts fans in mind. E3 is more of a general gaming press event. Because the Orchestra is coincidentally at E3, it'll count as E3 coverage.
You also have to remember that shareholders and investors are watching E3 too. Remember how Square Enix's stock value increased after the reveal of Final Fantasy VII Remake? Square Enix would love to get something like that again, and that can only be achieved with a blockbuster reveal with Kingdom Hearts III soon. The Japanese Trustee Bank and Goldman Sachs are getting just as impatient as we are for news about this product.

Big press event plus Nomura I would say chances of a trailer are pretty good.

It's just the Japanese voice over for those scenes from all the other concerts. It's not new, nor is it exclusive to the US concerts.

Nope everything's different this year. EA had their conference today. Microsoft has theirs tomorrow and it's usually on Monday before sonys. Everything else is the normal schedule.

The actual event itself doesn't start until the 13th, but the press conferences are starting before then. EA had their EA Play event today, followed by Microsoft and Bethesda's conferences tomorrow, Sony and Ubisoft on Monday, and Nintendo on Tuesday.
