It's been just under a year since Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX was announced at the D23 Expo in Japan. Since then many fans have been highly anticipating this collection of games, as it sports arguably two of the most popular Kingdom Hearts games of all time, Kingdom Hearts 2 and Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. Throw in the Final Mix verison of these games with new textures, aspect ratio, and challenges, and this collection is a must have for Kingdom Hearts fans!
Today, October 2nd, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX is officially in stores in Japan. It's been a wild ride fand while there's still some time before the game is released in English, today we celebrate the Japanese launch of the game.

Ugh, tell me about it. I preordered the game months in advance and to hear that it's still not out yet over in the U.S. is killing me.
Ah well, this may actually be a good thing considering that I haven't had much time to play games this semester anyway, so I'll probably tackle most of this during winter break.

Some people on gaf have been watching the streams (dare I say religiously) and have noticed several graphical bugs :/
Ah well. Considering they're rushing through, I can't say it doesn't surprise me.

The sound is especially problematic. There is a constant slowdown/distortion every now and then (think messing with the needle on a turntable). It's very annoying. If this doesn't get a patch it's a major problem for me. It practically destroys the soundtrack (which, otherwise sounds fantastic).

I thought the distortion was just from stream setup issues when I was watching one... sad to see that's something wrong with the game.
Any word on if these are only in KHII, or does it also happen to BbS?

Let us pray for a patch then. 1.5's were annoying but they were easy to put up with (unless you got that weird glitch in Re:CoM where the entire screen went dark and all you could do is scroll through the deck), but these are really bad.
The glitches disappoint me (but I'm also excited because glitch hunting is so much fun)
What bothers me the most is the audio issues and the slowdown. :\ That is really borderline game-breaking for me.

Actually, I think the audio issues are from the streamer himself. In this stream (you need an account to see it, it's free), the game runs smoothly as does the audio. Another stream I saw on twitch also didn't have this problem, but I couldn't check it out much because my computer is terrible. Or my internet. Or both.
No dice on the graphical issues though, hopefully those will be fixed come December.

Wow, that is pretty bad. Hopefully these issues get fixed come December. As for the audio "distortion" I think it might be from the equipment that streamer was using. In this stream (you need to make an account, it's free) there are no problems with the audio.

Oh Dear...
Almost done with 2 and played around in bbs. Haven't seen any glitches of any sort in 2. Lot of problems with bbs like sometimes using a command or dimensionlink freezes the game for as much as 10 seconds. Music isn't redone either but uncompressed so it sounds really good at least.

I ordered from Nin-Nin and the game shipped on Wednesday, a day before release. Now it's here, flown from Osaka Japan to Sydney Australia in less than 48 hours (but I did pay over $30 for shipping aha).
I know Sign bought it from Ami Ami and she's getting it at least next week.

Yes! It's all about the soundtrack. Waltz of the Damned sounds soooo goood now! As does Working Together!
Watched some of the Re:coded scenes. The rendition of "The Other Promise" that plays when Data Roxas and Sora "fight" that continues (and probably bleeds into Roxas' theme seeing as it goes slower as Roxas and Sora resume talking) when they begin talking. It really adds some depth to the scene.
Still wished that we had an actual fight, though...
the fight was short sadly i waited long to see them fight in 2.5 but we get remake the other promise was epic when roxas attaked sora

Yeah, exactly what I think as well. Terra was travelling through space without the cape on his armour, but suddenly his Lingering Will conjures a cape out of the blue...?
I hope it isn't true. It might be a small thing but it'd be quite bugging to me personally.

To add some consistency to BBS with the KH2 battle. Creating the capes for in-game use would be much harder cause they could have to be simulated on-the-fly and they probably thought that was too time-consuming.

I mean, it's not like I plan to rob his copy of the Kingdom Hearts HD Remix collections or PS3. Just nice friendly chat about a video game series we love. No siree, no ulterior intentions on my part. Say, that's a rather nice Sora figure......:tongue:
Oh man I`m so jealous. :( I pondered awhile that should I get a copy from Japan, but decided not to. Now that I have been listening the remixed soundtrack(which is godlike), and seen the new secret ending, I started to regret that decision. It`s been the fourth time when I dreamed on playing KH2FM. This time I was fighting against Lingering Will. I have seen dreams also from BBSFM. December where are thou?
But I wouldn`t understand anything from the game(managing abilities would be a nightmare), so it might be best to wait for the English release. Sad to say we don`t get all the cool stuff, but that dosen`t really bother me anymore, since 2.5 soundtrack can be bought.

Agreed. The cinematography has always been fairly good for the most part and the lighting for the HD remake does make it all better.

We may not have gotten Fate of the Unknown, but I'm thankful that they've redone Dismiss ;A;
The remastered version of Dismiss is... WOW. Like, I got shivers listening to it. Especially that piano solo, wonderful chords right there.
I can concede that the original has slightly more OOMPH but whoever takes issue with this rendition of Dismiss should be pistol-whipped (referring to some YouTube comments)!
"Dismiss" was always one of my favorite tracks from the entire series and to see that get remastered is a godsend!
I actually was a little surprised at how slow it started, but in the end, I think that it makes the track have more emphasis on the tragic nature of the battle rather than have something that started out a little more frantic.
Also, Aqua's portion of the track was amazing!
