I figured I'd try my Babylon rp one more time before I give up on it.

<@}===The Metropolis==={@>

The story takes place on Earth during a new time and era. Welcome to the year 55 N.G. (Neon Genesis), roughly 2455 A.D. in the olden days. Welcome to a world of peace and a world void of any violence or crimes. A true utopia. Before that, though, the world was quite a mess...

<@}=============Back-story============={@>

During the year 2200 A.D., the world broke into a world wide war. Eventually, the world was divided into two different armies. As the two sides fought, many people were killed and many places destroyed. The war lasted for 200 years before a ceasefire was finally announced and a treaty made. The death toll in the world tallied to about half of the population and the overall damage was beyond comprehension.

Despite the treaty being signed, the countries of the world were too weak and began to crumble in both the maintaining of the government and the map-drawn boundaries which showed its existence. This quickly led to Anarchism flaring up in countries both big and small, strong and weak, and under all types of rule. Before complete Anarchism befell the world, the surviving nations came together to search out a solution to mankind's self-destructive path and soon found one. It was decided that those countries would bound together under one form of rule and ultimately unite the world into one great nation. After everything was settled, these countries set out to douse the flames of Anarchism and restore order to those areas. It was on that day, the day that the whole world was united together, that the N.G. era begun.

To serve as both a monument of uniting the world and as the official capital of the world, the construction of a grand city took place. This metropolis, Novus Vita (New Life), as it came to be known, grew for the next 55 years and quickly became the most advanced city on Earth. Several businesses moved their headquarters to Novus Vita and quickly increased their profits ten fold, thus attracting more and more businesses to the city. One business in particular quickly rose above the rest: D.R.E.A.M. Originally just a robotics company, D.R.E.A.M.’s power and influence rose so high, so fast, that it began to absorb other machinery related companies into itself. D.R.E.A.M. soon became an overly powerful monopoly that, due to its deep-rooted influences and unmatched power, could not be dissolved by the government. Many people began to protest against allowing D.R.E.A.M. to remain a monopoly, saying “it wasn’t fair”, though the government’s hands were still tied. Rebel groups soon formed to attempt to take the law into their own hands, since the government could not help them, through most of their efforts remain in vain. Despite the public outrage at allowing of the monopoly, most of Novus Vita’s citizens are grateful for D.R.E.A.M. If it weren’t for them, Novus Vita wouldn’t be as advanced as it was. D.R.E.A.M. produced top-of-the-line equipment and greatly eased the lives of the citizens.

But, not all is truly well in this metropolis. There is a tug-o-war for power between the government (The President: Leader of the world and The Mayor: Overseer of Novus Vita) and Gendou Kuromiya, the owner and CEO of D.R.E.A.M., with Gendou holding the majority of the power. Despite this, no action has been taken by either side to remove the other from the picture. Instead, the government seems to only want to co-exist with D.R.E.A.M. in this current tug-o-war, or at least for the moment. Novus Vita’s government can best be described as a plutocracy, since Gendou’s power overshadows that of both the President and the Mayor.

To make matters worse, a large faction of people, surprisingly none of them being known rebels, announced their secession from the rest of the world and the formation of their new country, Verraten. The President immediately ordered that the faction that seceded to rejoin the rest of the world, which provoked the Verratens to strike back. Several nearby cities were ultimately destroyed by the Verratens, which led the President to declare war on Verraten. Though no new attacks have taken place, both sides have been “buffing up” and showing off their weapons in a cold war. Recently, the President secretly asked D.R.E.A.M. to produce a line of robots to serve as Earth’s military force.

This story starts at the unveiling of the military robots at D.R.E.A.M. Headquarters.

<@}=============Key Locations============={@>

First District:

Presidential Palace:
More of a large building than a palace, The Presidential Palace stands roughly twenty stories high with a three story "palace" placed on top. The design is a mixture of recent and past architecture similar to that of the Romans and Greeks. The structure's primary color is a golden-tan with a pinch of white and green here and there.

The Presidential Palace is somewhat secluded with a large "concrete garden" surrounding it, full of large fountains, statues and several other small structures. Citizens are allowed in the "concrete garden", as it has somewhat become the new town square since the building of the D.R.E.A.M. HQ. The closest buildings, being other government related buildings, stand roughly 100 yards away.

The Presidential Palace serves as both the official residence and primary workplace for the President.

The Exchange:
A large, open marketplace where many business owners (and sometimes workers) gather to trade their products or services.

The Exchange is in the shape of a large circle with a radius of roughly 50 yards. Its floors are made up of a pearl-colored tile made from some type of stone and it is trimmed with gold all along its edge. Eight marble pillars stand 20 feet tall along the edges of the Exchange, each equally spaced away from the two next to it.

The Exchange is located near the center of the first district and is surrounded by a park.

Second District:

Mayor's Mansion:
The Mayor's large mansion resides in the "fancy section" of the second district (a section of mansions secluded from the large buildings of Novus Vita). It stands about twice the size of neighboring mansions and is built from limestone.

A large, beautiful garden filled with all sorts of bushes, trees and flowers of every color sits in front of the mansion. Several fountains and small ponds are also present among the plants.

Third District:

Novus Vita Terminal:
The terminal station is located in the south-west section of the third district. The terminal has 60 platforms with 82 tracks along them. The interior of the terminal was built very similar to Grand Central Station in New York, only slightly more advanced.

With bullet trains being the most effective short-ranged travel between cities, the Novus Vita Terminal is normally packed with people coming and going, with roughly 200,000 people traveling a day.

Fourth District:

The "Black" Mine:
The entrance to the Black mine rests on the south-east outskirts of Novus Vita and is heavily guarded.

The mine leads deep underground and splits out into several pathways. The mines are full of valuable gems and minerals that are collected by prisoners.

The Black Mine is considered a death sentence by most, since almost no one that goes down there returns alive.

Not limited to a single district:

Monorail:
The monorail loops around the inner section of Novus Vita and has a station in each of the four districts.

D.R.E.A.M. HQ:
The D.R.E.A.M. headquarters resides in the center of Novus Vita, making it apart of all four districts.

The main "building" (more appropriately tower) rests in the center of the headquarters with all of the other related builds resting around it. The tower's actual height is unknown, though is reaches above the clouds. The base of the tower has a diameter of about a half a mile. The tower is of a shining silver color and appears as if it were constructed from one single piece of metal. Several plates and sheets of metal that are colored red, yellow/gold, brown and black cover a great deal of the tower.

Several, significantly smaller building surround the tower and serve several trivial uses.

<@}=============Jobs============={@>

Business owner:
A business owner could own something as small as a street-side vendor or as big as a multi-billion company. Business owners moved their headquarters to Novus Vita in hopes to increase their income. While most succeed, some companies have been known to fail.
The business owners overlook the Novus Vita branch of their company (no matter the size) personally.

Business owners regularly visit The Exchange to trade ideas, products and serves with other owners.

Soldier:
The keepers of the peace on Novus Vita. The soldiers regularly patrol the streets of Novus Vita on the look out for criminals, Verratens and rebels. Soldiers are also often found guarding key locations and protecting government officials.

Citizen:
An everyday citizen that goes about their lives in Novus Vita.

Rebel:
A citizen of Novus Vita that is upset with monopoly D.R.E.A.M. and possibly the government. The rebels have initiated several attacks against D.R.E.A.M. in a attempt to gain public support, dissolve D.R.E.A.M. and, in a few radical cases, try to capture or even kill Gendou Kuromiya. Rebels have also commonly stolen D.R.E.A.M. goods and personal items from Gendou.

The rebels have several operating points about the city where they plan their attacks and plans.
