Some things I've noticed while farming:
A raid boss appears every 3 Heartless you kill. Now sometimes the stage only gives you a single heartless. So it could take up to three clears to spawn one. Which is 45 AP. So far I've been "lucky" and my raid is up to level 10. Two Omegas have spawned which gave me 1,000 coins.
Also, as stated, for 2 hours each night the boss spawn rate is halved, so save AP for those times as well.
I've done 2 refills with the measly 200 jewels I had. I'm done with the first board. Don't fret. You'll clear it easily in 13 days!
