Since Brain was picked by Ava....Then Who killed Strelitzia? Ephemer and Skuld was also picked by Ava? I doubt Lauriam would kill his sister. The only person left is Ventus haha *stares into a void* Ventus is a sweetheart and I doubt he would do something like that.

The Master of Master said something about there being a Keyblade War that began when he was just a boy. But then mentions later that said Keyblade War is still continuing to this day.
He also says that he didn't have a Master of his own and the Keyblade War was between the Light and Darkness. Luxu asks him if there were other Keybladers of Light or Darkness, but I didn't know what MoM was saying in that part. I think he said something about not knowing any other Keybladers besides him for light.

So the two keyblade war theory is true, not surprised since the war didn't add up with what we knew.

So now I wonder if that also confirms the theory that the KG actually was the host of two wars. I know when we saw the ruins Xehanort brought up in KH3 that many people, myself included, speculated that another war had taken place there and turned that world into a wasteland and that MoM was the lone survivor of that war.

I am a little bit shocked that seems to be the direction it's actually going. As for who fought in it, beings who looked like Humans but weren't humans? That is an....unsettling thought.

Of course this could also be going that more absurd route that the MoM is actually a time traveling adult Sora. The war he could be speaking of was the one in KH3, Sora didn't have a master, and the monsters who look like humans were the Nobodies/Replicas.

This is becoming like one of those infographs about what started the plague where it's just a continuous escalation of causes. Ancient evil incoming.

So, maybe "Darkness" who appeared with Maleficent was one of the darkness that are like humans that the MoM is talking about?

And this is why it's better to wait until someone (doesn't have to be us) has full, reliable translations out.

What I'm reading in the Master's lines all point to him actually being a time-travelling Sora, and I don't know how to feel about that.
The "earlier Keyblade War" could obviously be referring to the one in KH3, which would have happened in Sora's past if not the world's. The part about him still being a boy when it happened is another obvious clue.
Light fighting against Darkness could of course be code for the 7 Guardians against the 13 Darknesses of Xehanort.
Even the "beings who looked like humans but weren't human" could be referring to the Replicas/Nobodies that Xehanort used to house his heart!
All of this is deeply concerning. I don't want Sora to be the villain!

I remember in the original Browser version of Chi being a mention of original "Seekers of Darkness" who hide among the keykids so maybe these are what the MoM is talking about?

They mentioned something about "Noise" not in Japanese but in Katakana English. I have no idea what they are saying tho. Could it be the same Noise from The World Ends with You?

In before the true Keyblade War is taking place in some Worldline where the MoM originally is from, and he's amassing wielders of Light in order to counter the Darkness.

Honestly it's incredibly hard for me to picture MoM and Sora as the same person given the drastic difference in personality. I really hope this isn't the case.

So im going out on a limb here and saying sora is the MoM but a a adult version of sora... From a different world line... In that world line somehow that sora died but. His friends were the ones to save him in return they disappeared . He then used the power of waking to go further back in time to the age of fairytails possibly loosing his body and maybe his kingdom key. Since maybe destiny island didnt exist for some reason so he manifest his actual keyblade imsaying this becuase the kingdom key was orignially supposed be rike hence why riku current key looks like a more upgraded version.
My thoery is adult sora aka master of masters may have fled from a huge catastrophe and becuase of that he decided to change the future by writing the book of prophecies. Allowing the first keyblade war to happen and observe the outcome. Remember what YX said u cannont change what is destined to happen he was right... I figured this is what triggered MoM to change destiny by altering the current world line. Brain on the other hand realizes this and decides to minimize interference with destiny.

Theres not much to go on until more translations and story release but what if ventus was possessed by. MoM the before the new union leaders killed starlezia and erased vens memories. And rearanged them to think he was a new union leader now now remember the master of masters heart was divided during this time. What if the reason vens heart found its way to sora when it was fractured. Was becuase of this. The part that was taken. Away from ven was probably also the part of the MoM hence why vanitus name is a deviation from pride. So vens heart finding sora wasnt comeplete chance... There was already a connection to sora long before xahnort found ven...
But yea this is just me giving my thoughts none. Of this is proven...

Here's the gist of the update from my own translation:

The Keyblade War started when the Master was a kid. It's not "another" Keyblade War, but rather the War began much earlier than we thought.
The Master claims that there were other Keyblade wielders, however they are "out of the question," like they don't matter so much.
The original battles were fought between "Light" and "Darkness," the Master had no masters of his own.
Rather than the "monsters" which are being fought now, the Master's enemy was something different, which took the shape of humans but was not itself human... probably.
Compared to the battles he fought, the darkness has changed shape and now hides inside humans. Because of this, he hoped to finally end the War (with the events of χ[chi], presumably).
The Dandelions, who would escape to another worldline, would enact "the starting point χ," "the Unchain training" and "the Union Cross realization," which are cornerstones for restoring the lost world.
However, once the world is restored, he implies not everyone will be able to return to the restored, original world.

Back to the Union Leaders, everyone's come together for a status report.
Brain concludes that somehow they've wound up inside a data world, which was purposefully separated from the real world.
For what purpose, who knows. By whom, who knows. He questions whether Ava was aware of this "program," stating that someone had to have arranged it.

I increasingly believe in the theory that Sora is MoM ...

So... The war that occurred during the MoM's childhood (that's allegedly still continuing by the time the scene takes place) was fought between Keyblade wielders and humanoid beings of darkness, and overtime, the darkness changed form and eventually hid away within humans. He set up the events of Chi/Backcover in an effort to finally end that long battle (or at least grant them a much needed reprieve), and used the Dandelions to restore the damage that his plan would cause to the worlds, as well as to make sure the legacy of Keyblade continues on into the future.

Am I understanding this correctly?

Hrm a lot of potential ways this story could be playing out...

At the very least I think I'm starting to think the MoM didn't necessarily want the world to end in Chi. Rather because the foretellers wanted to give it a shot he decided to indulge them. Setting up a plan that could potentially save the world but only if his foretellers could rise above their flaws and stay the course. He knew they wouldn't be he was hoping they could prove him wrong, that they could change the future like Sora does though in the end they predictably failed.

Meanwhile the MoM's real plan was the dandelions all along. The purpose of Chi was to create a dire circumstance/threat of darkness to find keyblade wielding children that were very darkness resistant, it was only through darkness that those rare glimmers of light could be. After Ava had found them she said they were going to begin training in a world made of dreams, THAT is what Unchained Chi was. Ephemer was calling to the player in their dreams because Ephemer was in a dream world during this time like the rest of the dandelions. The next step was "Union Cross" and I think I get the idea behind it now, why the new leaders were tasked with setting it up and why the game's logo/name changed.

When the wielders entered that data worlds to begin Union Cross that actually trapped them in the data. See they thought they were entering data worlds then leaving back to the real daybreak town but what actually happened was after leaving union cross they would up inside of a digital daybreak town. Union Cross was the gate into the cage and once inside the MoM's program prevented them from leaving redirecting them to the digital daybreak town.

Tbh, the preview with Brain receiving the book from Ava doesn't really discount him as the fake leader yet. Especially with him repeating that he's the "virus" that'll change the program, just like what Luxu alluded to in his Secret Reports about the fake being a "virus". But it could prove that he didn't kill Strelitzia. It's still possible that he wasn't MoM's circled kid, but someone Ava chose, if one gets where this line of thinking is going: Ava might be the killer instead, and chose Brain to ruin MoM's plans after hearing the truth from Luxu, with or without Brain knowing it.

The decisive point in all of this, if it's not implied with the upcoming scene with Ava and Brain, is that whoever comes up with the jumping worldlines idea and pushing for it within the Union Leaders is the fake.

I've been reading Goldpanner's translations since she finished them late last night and I still can't make heads nor tales from where Nomura is taking this, who the traitor actually is, how they all wound up in a data project etc.

All my focus is going towards three things that are probably 99% going to be incorrect (the 1% correct belongs to point 3):

1) Ava survived the war / she had a data version of herself primed and at the ready and she's watching the new Union leaders with Brain being her lackey

2) Ventus, Lauriam, Elrena, and Ava are most likely those that MoM refers to as crossing over between Worldlines, since they all turned up in the main KH history around the same time ([spoiler=KH3 spoilers]Ventus 4 years prior to BbS, Marluxia and Elrena found by Luxu/Xigbar sometime shortly after Hollow Bastions fall, Ava before Hollow Bastions fall as Subject X[/spoiler])

3) It's been one year this month since we got the Maleficent + Darkness update and in true disappointment to her character, she fell off the face of the game and fell into obscurity and I'm sad by this (especially after how much I enjoyed watching Maleficent: Mistress of Evil yesterday.)

I just wish this all wasn't so slowly drip fed out to us. Union X isn't such a bad story, it's just hard to follow because it's easy to forget details from the last main story update from like 6 months ago and we only get a tiny bit of information and have to wait a couple of months for the next part. Hopefully this story gets converted into Back Cover 2.

Hmm... the Dandelion Union Leaders being trapped in the Data World may be the catalyst as to how Lauriam, Elrena and Ventus were catapulted through time.

My intention wasn’t to insult any Skuld fans or downplay her character or potential. It’s just that Nomura has made questionable choices with her character, omitting her from Back Cover being the biggest. And ever since the new Dandelion leaders were revealed, to my eyes she went further and further into the background.

For what it’s worth, I’m not shutting her out of being Subject X. Like pointed out before, the evidence suggests that. But like I mentioned earlier, this plot is painfully drip fed to us and Skuld has been thrown aside because of it. I’d say the exact same about Ventus if he wasn’t a character that we already knew about since he’s been thrust aside as well.

It’s just, to me, Ava has more relevance in the current X and post-KH3 storyline. She’s vanished away from the other Foretellers despite last being seen in the same place with them and her sudden resurgence in UX with Brain. It doesn’t matter what Luxu says in that short epilogue, she’s still not with them and that’s significant. It’s also significant that Subject X is missing as well. To me, reviewing this, I’m drawn to Ava being Subject X (especially if the wiki is right and Braig took Subject X away when AtW ordered the release of the prisoners (I’m on a bus so I can’t go in-depth with proper research.)) THAT’S suspicious.

I think all who believe in Skuld and myself who believes in Ava are being played for fools anyways. They’re both female characters in a Nomura game. They’re going to be barely relevant or utilised.

This is all making me feel like X[chi] would've been better as a console game. That way we wouldn't be trapped in this cycle of waiting for story updates that have to share space with filler updates.

Also, the Master wants to end the war, yet in Back Cover he's fine with letting it continue since there's no use changing the future that's already written.

How can he see into the future with his eye anyway?

You know I think I finally get the MoM's plan at least somewhat.

Chi was never really about gathering luxu, it was about gathering guilt. The guilt bangles were meant to be his tools of selection by arming the union wielders with the bangles they harvested darkness as they harvested lux. The darkness would taint and corrupt the wielders, going as far as to turn some of them into Darklings, but it would almost mean those particularly resistant to darkness or to the growing dark impulses in their heart would rise up. Essentially Chi was largely one big experiment to make it so Ava could find and gather up a bunch of exceptional wielders to ensure the world would be reborn.

Unchained came next after the wielders were selected they were sent to a world of dreams to restart their training, this would reorient them from the beginning now only the best of the best were training, relearning about lux gathering, reexperiencing basically everything. I imagine the idea is that this also is where the memories got overwritten, like in CoM making them experience slightly different versions of the events to essentially replace their memories bit by bit with new ones.

Union Cross is step three the wielders now siphoned down to only the best, firmly retrained, and their memories of the other worldline suppressed were transferred into at datascape to began gathering lux for real in preparation for their role of rebuilding the lost world albeit most don't know that. The downside to this is that the MoM sealed them all in cage knowing only some will ever manage to escape that cage and return. That's the real reason he wiped their memories, not just so they didn't have the sadness of the war but so they aren't aware they are in prison. They can live the rest of their lives happily and blissfully unaware in this new world...basically he Roxas'd them.

So now jumping to theory territory....

This makes me think now firmly that the black box contains the computer/server that stores the dandelion datascape. The box's purpose was to prevent the computer/server from being destroyed or damaged during the thousands of years that would pass. I also imagine as long as it's shut the datascape remains completely cut off, a prison/protection for light/hope, but once it's open you can access the computer. Meaning you could use it to enter/exit the UX datascape or you could rewrite the program to re-establish a connection so the other wielders could escape. Likewise if the set up is like Coded's computer was then I bet the core is a copy of the book of prophecies and that's why Maleficent wants the box because she wants to steal that copy.

AAAANDD now I think I get what is going on at least slightly with WiR being connected. Even though the UX datascape is programmed to be sealed off from the real world, WiR's datascape probably doesn't have the same limits. Basically using this secondary datascape as a bypass they are flooding that place with heartless because as Coded told us heartless can attack and break through the barrier between the real and digital worlds if they are strong enough. With the end goal being to create strong enough heartless to punch a hole in that barrier and thus create an exit point. But some heartless/the block noise found their way back through the link and started invading Daybreak town causing it to glitch out. Which accidentally pulled back the curtain to reveal the MoM had caged them in a data world.

Finally, an update worth waiting for, but still the same confusing like before.

I'm quite excited to hear Master of Masters confirmed the 3 titles of X (X[chi], Unchained, Union Cross) are actual different timeline events in this whole mess, and that it's my first time to see a game title is being used as an in-game timeline.

And then his explanation of the origin of the Keyblade War before his time, very interesting indeed.

Edit: Ah! So his mentioned about the Keyblade War during his own time make sense with what we knew about Keyblade War since KHI. The thousand years past since KHI between Light and Darkness, instead of what we have seen in X[chi] with just over a hundred years-ish. Love this.

Could someone please clarify for me, what exactly is the narrative distinction between X, Unchained and Union Cross?

I'm not liking how important the data world stuff is becoming, but I'm enjoying everything else.
Gladly surprised the first story update wasn't just MoM and Luxu talking and I'm ready for the other three updates.

I wonder how a console game would be like and how they would implement the whole story from X to Union X. I mean, from a gameplay perspective, it would be really cool because after the first Keyblade War in X, they could implement second visits to the Disney worlds until the second climax from Unchained X before the last story parts from Union X start.

They also already have all the Daybreak Town assets. And imagine experiencing Agrabah in PS4/5 graphics. Oh boy, I want them to release this on current/next gen consoles

I wouldn't say it's the writer's fault. It's more the fault of the medium. Cell phone games aren't exactly built to tell these kinds of stories and even then, SE probably knows that most people are here for the storyline and not exactly the mechanics or the cosmetics though sometimes those can sweeten the pot. So it's probably an executive decision to drip-feed the story and not all the writing's fault. Though that doesn't mean that the writer is blameless, just that it's probably not only him.

I'm just wondering since the "5 years ago" title card was so specific, could the whole χ-saga operate on the real (our) timeline?
In-game that 5 years ago was an unspecific day after Ava got her role. Kingdom Hearts χ[chi] officially started on July 18, 2013 which was over six year ago. Five years ago, after the first browser anniversary, the current story quest was Olympus Coliseum while the latest main story quest was the defeat of some of those other player(s) against the Heartless leading to the "death" of this other Chirithy.

Sooo... has anyone noticed that the MoM refers to the darkness as some sort of sentient entity? I'm starting to think that the fellow member that said that the plot will revolve into an ancient evil is going to happen, witht he darkness being that ancient evil.

So, I guess "four story updates in October" didn't pan out?

I'd say it's a very safe bet that ReMIND will release in January 2020 though. Not only is it one year since the release of KH3, but it corresponds to the new KHUX story updates as previously mentioned. Given that Nomura seems to want KHUX to intertwine with the console games, it makes a lot of sense to assume a late January release for ReMIND, probably like January 28th or so.

Thinking about the DLC being possibly released a year after the original game makes me think whether or not they'll ever release a Final Mix version of the game with everything packed in it. I doubt they'll release a Final Mix so close to FFVII Remake, and I'll assume they'll leave the coming months for FF7 to cannibalize sales.

I've been thinking, depending on what day they release the DLC if it's in January, wouldn't that make keeping it far from FFVII kinda pointless? If it's early January, alright, but if it's late January then it would basically be one month/one month and a few days behind FFVII.
