So, they want us to spend 15 bucks to get 7 brooms. And we need 5 to make a Fantasia Mickey. So for the low low price of 15 bucks we can only add one fucking dot. Yeah, I knew this was probably going to be a VIP quest, but this is just disgusting. That's one shameless money grab. Those things better come availalbe in another way.
And adding those "special" VIP quests doesn't make this deal anymore appealing. And here I thought things were looking up...

I never actually played or the Japanese version, but as far as I know they are indeed paid VIP Missions. And I'm not sure how many Brooms Japan gets per day. I think 3? I don't know. But this, 7 for 15 bucks, is just a shameless cash grab. And in the end Japan got access to Brooms through events and other means, so hopefully we get that soon too.

I'm a bit hazy on the beginnings of the brooms as well, but I think they started out this exact same way. Japan gets three now, but I think back then it was one a day. Global also received two free Fantasia Mickey B's as well, whereas Japanese just got two free Brooms IIRC.
I'm sure Brooms will be accessible via other means soon enough, but I fail to see a reason to be angry right now lol.

I'm not angry, just a bit pissed. I expected a better deal, I guess just got my hopes up for some reason. Better to let it go, yeah.

Yeah, the amount of Brooms is a tad low, but in my case it's just enough as I need the 1 more FMB to Guilt WOFF Sephy and later this week I can do judt that. Soooo looking forward to it. Gonna be nice for the Lux Rankings too, as I plan to give him my other ABIII/APP/Lux+ Skill I've been holding on to if his roll is high enough, giving my Divine Rose setup 3 Lux+ Medals and letting me really rake it in. I've done pretty well for the first double hour of the event, gonna catch some sleep now and get up during the second. Those Magic Gems will be mine....DR needs them. Doubt I can maintain top 100 the whole week, but I'll gun it for top 500 at least. That'll put me 1 Magic Gem away from DR+33.

Also, I can one-round the Lv99 version of the boss. Man, really shows how far I've come from the early days...

Kinda knew the Magic Brooms were gonna be a VIP, especially since they fit the slot Cid left in VIP banners, plus JP got the same treatment. I think eventually, we'll get them added in Coli, HSC, Raid events, etc. as rewards. Yeah, it hurts the F2P, but maybe, and hoping, if they need one special medal guilted, they can save up and get at least one week of Brooms to help them out.

Just happy to get the Brooms. Am one M&B away from guilting my HD Roxas, so I went ahead and got this inaugural Magic Brooms VIP. Won't be able to get them often, and still need at least 2 more medals I am needing to guilt, but this is a start!

Well, to be fair global got it later then jp, and they've had better deals. So I see the two mbs as a slight compensation for all that trouble, not as something that global got over jp.

As for the broom deal, I pretty much said this was what it was going to be when it came to us, lol... so expected. I'm just going to save all my mbs and these broom deals for ex medals... even though I have some medals that could use three mbs, until they release a ton, I'm just going to focus on extremely rare medals like ex ones.

Figured they'd be VIP. I don't actually mind that, and we'll probably get them some other way later on. At least they're finally here.

Do we know how the mechanics of the party-based level increases for the Raid Boss works?

i did levels 1-61 today on my own, then helped a party member take down a 65, and then my own Raid Boss jumped to 66. However, this party nenber continued after whilst I was out shopping, and then came back to it and I picked up from level 67. So, does the raid boss only level up if you help in a request of that level?

Just enough brooms to guilt my HD Roxas then I'm saving the rest. Glad they're here, but I want to see brooms and FMBs in avatar boards now. Hurry it up SENA.

It's funny that people will defend a decision like this, because it's how it "originated" in Japan. We don't need an ever widening gap, not to mention the Global audience has not has M&B for way longer than Japan ever did.

I don't think anyone is "defending" it, just admitting no one expected it to be different. I fully expected it to be a VIP. And it is. But I also believe those brooms will also be released in rewards for Coli, HSC, Raid events, etc. Maybe not right away, they have to milk the money on the VIPs first, but they will be offered without paying for them.

Yeah. They'll be hard to get for sure, but I think we'll be getting them more in the future. Mirrors have become more frequent with time, Cids are now free and basically every avatar board has some super strong skills like AB3Max etc. so I believe f2p will eventually get some brooms as well.

You can believe what you want, but let's call a spade a spade until then. It's a cash grab, nothing new, and while it isn't surprising, it shouldn't be compared to Japan's sequence of events, because we haven't followed suit.

Seeing as we're calling this spade a spade, it isn't surprising that this business-game is trying to make money, it is a business after all. The perks being rewarded first to those who pay is both sensible for them and helpful to us (as they have more money to improve the game and make a living).

Like all new medals of this game (Cid, Mirror, Chip/Dale, HDL, SP Restoration), they will eventually become more available as their novelty wears off. They have to start somewhere and eventually come down from there. If anything for us F2P'ers, this game is just a practice in patience.

I think this game had treated their F2P players quite well nowadays. Those daily Cids really helps newbies that lack Keyblade costs to fully experience the greatness of 5 Six Star Keyblade setups. The only nitpick is the Daily Jewel Challenge things. They should make it permanent so that F2P can get stable source of jewels. 200 + daily log in bonus everyday, that's all I'm asking for...

I fully understand that they're a business and need to make money, but I don't think that charging $15 a week for benefits is really necessary. Don't even get me started on the absurd amounts of money it takes just to pay for a single pull.

I've said it many times before, back when I was younger, a game of this quality would cost $30 at most, up-front and you'd never have to pay another cent to enjoy any aspect of the game whatsoever. If that business model worked, then clearly Square-Enix has just become greedy. They don't need people spending like $20 for a medal pull. They don't need people paying $15 a week for small benefits that most of which you no longer have anymore if you don't spend the $15 again the next week.

I enjoy this game, as someone who has spent little money, but I think the prices are insane and I will no be silent about it. Something has gone horribly wrong with gaming and this is a prime example.

If you only paid every Monday for a month, earned your 12,000 jewels, in addition to other things the game requires jewel currency for, your pull is not necessarily guaranteed to yield good results.

For under that same, single monthly payment you can get all the other games in the form of the (Limited Edition) 1.5 + 2.5 Remix collection.

We know it's a business. We know it's gambling. Fairly put, the price point simply does not equate to a good value. Don't try to convince me.

As others have reiterated, well said, I'm not saying the business model isn't skewed in their favor, it is. My goal is not to convince someone that it is good value, I'm a F2P player, clearly I do not think it is.

It just seems no matter what updates this game gets, people would rather focus on the cons then the pros. Which is within our rights to do so and we should exercise our right to an opinion in hopes of change, but if the game disappoints and frustrates some so much, it seems hypocritical to keep on keeping on.

Neither this nor my previous post was directly targeted towards you, Rydgea, but more generally. We're not even a full month past the anniversary (which I thought had phenomenal deals), getting Daily Cids, Union X and Traits much earlier than the timeline JPN is on, and yet I've seen message boards and video comments mostly consisting of complaints of 'boredom' or how this Broom deal is 'so unjust'. Not realizing that, if this game's history repeats itself, they too will become more available with time.

Total difference between the mobile game template and what you get with console, PC games. Games you buy for $60 or so, once you play one go around, the game is done. I play Pokemon, and felt a bit let down and cheated with shorter Pokemon games. Once I played, that was it.

Mobile games are a different beast. Mobile games are...well...continuous games. Constant content. Some mobile games like Angry Birds, have been going on for years, and years, and years, well, you get the picture. That is new, constant content. You have to pay for that. It is just the nature of mobile games.

You simply cannot compare the two. You can't.

While they are different games, I think the point being made was just comparing quantity of content per USD spent. Not everyone has a PS4 and not everyone likes the console titles. However, for $60/month, one could spend it on many things (1 game per month, games with active communities, etc.) that would net you more utility than a handful of medals if you think the deal is so unjust.

Bottom line, it's your money, choose where you want to spend it.
