The other two trios? Who else is left? Kairi and Riku look to be in Melody of Memory, The Xehanort stuff is on Dark Road. Union X is still going on. The BBS and Twilight gang are the only ones not covered at the moment, unless they make like...in Ava game.

I saw the slew of trailers. I think I’m more excited about the Kairi but cannot wait to see what’s done with her character!

If the series ends up being one of those slots...

In the 5 min soundtrack trailer shortly before the end there is a part labeled "Second memory" while showing off Axel/Lea and Sora both together with Roxas, so maybe that's one of the two incorporating the "twilight gang"-side of things while the last one is something with TAV.

If it’s just for a 2020 release window, then probably a Fragmentary Passage type game and the rumored tv show perhaps.

If it extends beyond 2020 then maybe DDD2 and Verum Rex.

Wow. I'm still trying to process all of this.
I just hope UX/ Dark Road is the only mobile title and the two unknown projects are for PS4/XBO or Switch.
I'm as hyped as I can be, but I'm also worried that the KH series will spread too much across different systems... again.

One is probably KH4 itself. Saving Sora probably IS the KH4 plot at this point.

My guesses for the two spots are the Shibuya/Shinjuku game and the eventual KH4

EDIT: Oh wait this is just for 2020? Then maybe one spot is just for the tv series

Will it be Verum Rex and KH4?
Or will they pay attention to the same TAV trio or Lea and Isa and their lost girlfriend?
Will KH4 come out much later than these two slots?

Could you please explain in the trailer two empty slots were indicated and still can not understand this announcement of KH only in 2020? Or are these two slots made for two full-fledged future games in a series like Verum Rex and KH4?

I’m most curious about those empty boxes and the fact that have arrows pointing up/down.

The flow of the first arrows seem contained in the first two sets of boxes. We start in the empty lower box, move into Re:Mind, go back down into a larger box with fuzzy text in it (unless there’s an example of a higher quality version somewhere?). We then get an arrow which moves into Dark Road.

The next arrow doesn’t connect with Dark Road. Seems to me like it’s beneath MoM. It flows down into an empty box, then back up into MoM. It doesn’t connect or “flow” into anything else.

The last two empty boxes on the upper layer all connect like the first set with Re:Mind/Dark Road did. Since we don’t have games/whatevers to fill these I’m gonna call the boxes KH-Phase2-1 and KH-Phase2-2 since I was confusing myself by using the word ‘box’ so many times.

From KH-Phase2-1, the arrow moves down into an empty box, but the arrow pointing up from it seems positioned almost directly in between KH-Phase2-1 and KH-Phase2-2. It’s ever so slightly more pointing at KH-Phase2-2. Just skims the edge of the box. After that, an arrow points down from KH-Phase2-2 into a small box, like the one at the start.

And yes I am a giant saddo having sat here an analyzed boxes in a Kingdom Hearts trailer.

It struck my interest since it reminds me of the “movement map” or whatever you’d call it for stuff like Pokémon Bank and Home. I don’t know what the arrows could be referring to, though. It’s not we can ‘move’ items, equipment or characters from ??? into Re:Mind which we can then, via another channel, move into Dark Road.

Is it indicating the movement of a character(s), maybe? As in, movement through time? Maybe some form of inter-game connectivity will begin going forward (please goodness no)? Maybe I’m overlooking something really obvious like a giant dumb dumb? Or maybe it indicates the trailer editor and Nomura can troll me super hard?

KH UX remake for consoles have to be one of them. the story is too important to stay on mobile

Maybe the other two projects are a UX remake for consoles and that rumored KH Disney plus series. I really doubt we are gonna find Sora and start DDD v2 by the end of 2020.

So just to clarify, the rhythm game is Melody of Memories and not the one that looks like it's based on Kairi?

Well if one of the projects is the TV series I'm guessing it will be a side story taking place after KH3 rather then an adaptation of the games. Either starring MDG, TAV, or the Twilight Town gang

So, from what I can tell, the lineup is labeled as "2nd phase", which means these are not just the titles that will be released in 2020, but the entire lineup of Phase 2, and that could mean a couple of things.
One thing I'm certain of is that, if this is the whole lineup of Phase 2, then the last slot HAS to be Kingdom Hearts IV. There's no way around that. Otherwise, it's not a complete Phase. And my guess is that the game before that will probably be either the Verum Rex game or something chronicling TAV and maybe also RAX on their own quest for Sora.
But beyond that, I wonder—is Phase 2 going to encompass the entire Foretellers Saga? Because if it is, then DAMN, it's a lot shorter than the Xehanort Saga was! I guess that means Nomura learned from all the pushback against the neverending wait for 3 and is trying to compress this saga more.

Heh, I wonder what makes people so sure that there even will be a "KH IV" at all.

In order to be more free and better tell the stories of the KH universe and its by now rather big cast those big "numbered" titles following a stale formula are more a hindrance than a help, especially when considering that for several faults of KH II corrected by KH III its pacing is just as atrocious as the 2005 game if not even worse.
If anything KH III shows that the general formula by which I, II and III run is not sufficient anymore for the scale and scope this fictional universe has reached. That Re:Mind had to be added retroactively to finally give some of the other major characters some barebone focus and a true meaningful connection between main plot and Disney worlds still couldn't be maintained shows this imho the best.

I feel like I'm in the twilight zone. Honestly Kingdom Hearts being treated like the MCU with orchestrated and planned release dates across the phases like huh? That's not how it's been for the first 20 years of Phase One.

I'm curious to wonder if the success of KH3 has made Disney realize just what it is exactly they have in their hands.

The animated series is not in any of this information cause it's not a Phase. It's likely a retelling of the entire story through CGI animation. Plus Disney will announce the show. I don't expect Square will.

Should we rest safe in the knowledge that MOM is gonna be backwards compatible with PS5 and the other next gen console? I remember how Sony said the games coming out this year and next year will be compatikle with next gne consoles.

I'm more inlined to believe that we're not getting games related to the Wayfinder or Ice Cream trio and that the next entries to the boxes could be the animated series, DDD Vol.2 and KHUx remake.

But if they do start treating the Universe of KINGDOM HEARTS like the MCU, I may start inclining towards the possibility of a new BBS and Days happening.

Since "Memories" is still in the title of the game, should we wait for cutscenes featuring a twilight gang studying Roxas and Xion's memory??

I don't think it's going to be KHIV, as more than likely they will announce that once MoM and the two unnounced projects have came out during Phase 2.

Hopefully later this year or after the release of Melody of Memory we will find out more about the two unnounced KH projects, in fact it wouldn't surprise if one of the unannounced projects comes out in 2022 which is the 20th Anniversary of the KH franchise and when the first game came out.

Didn't Nomura say in the Ultimania interview there's like three games he wanted to be made before KH4 comes out, well technically 2 games, and a special project? And with the Darknesses interview, it certainly lines up to how many teams are working on these games:

So we've got actually one more side game before KH4 comes in. The last box of the 2nd phase pic has to be KH4, right?

I'm guessing that one side game has to be Verum Rex related with Riku. But it's not the whole story of Verum Rex, since I feel that it's hard to put it all in one side game. Feels like Nomura's probably dividing it into three parts. First part is Riku's search for Sora while exploring a portion of VR's setting and a little bit about Yozora, then KH4 with Sora, MoM and Yozora, and finally a prequel featuring Yozora. Ya know, kinda like how Versus was meant to span several games?

But aside from that, I think that one side game with Riku+Verum Rex probably is just half of the game. Now that Kairi's actually awake instead of sleeping it off until Sora comes back, I think the first half probably is more about Kairi staying behind instead of going with Riku to the Verum Rex world.

Feels like in order to justify Riku+Verum Rex game as a Disney game, Kairi is the one meant to explore Disney Worlds for Disney's stamp of approval. She's probably there to resolve a few plot points regarding a some of KHX and UX's loose ends, now that we're exploring a portion of her past in Melody of Memory. I mean she's probably more in tune with the whole KHX series thing than Riku, considering the first thing we see when playing KHX and KHUX is her grandmother telling her the story of the Keyblade War.

Also, having a Kairi campaign on the Unannounced Title is a good way to include the Days quartet's new subplot, formally introducing Subject X into the series, and even explore a little bit on Ven's background : ). Probably even having face reveals of at least one or two of the Foretellers. But personally I don't think BBS trio will be explored that much, not until Dark Road is close to ending since I feel like Terra and Aqua would connect more to there than KHUX itself.

Well, I'm probably just being optimistic though. haha

To me, the fact that KH3 is listed in the second phase really showcases how much it focused on setting up other games, rather than being a satisfying conclusion.

So MoM looks like it takes place right after Re:Mind and deals with Kairis lost memory and her search for Sora.

If I had to guess, the other two titles would (hopefully) take place after that chronologically.

As we already know, Ventus, Lea, and Isa have strong connections to the KHUX cast, as well as Elrena and Lauriam who should be recompleted by now. With this in mind, I think that the two new titles will be

1) The introduction of the foretellers to the modern era. We saw them arrive in the epilogue and we know maleficent at the very least will be hunting them down for that box. I could see this game being the spiritual successor to both BBS and Days with those characters bring the ones to face the Foretellers. This way we also get a non numbered title that can still focus on not Sora characters. I definitely feel like the whole idea of “killing” Sora off was to let other characters shine in his absence.

2) Riku and Kairis journey to save Sora. This one would focus on the two trying to get to the world of Verum Rex and find their friend. I can see Kairi and Riku getting some hints in MoM as to how to start this journey. This would act as the successor to DDD. And probably include stuff to do with the Lost Master, Luxord and possibly Demyx. (Demyx and Riku has that small interaction in Re:Mind which may have been setting up for a later interaction...)

I just want a "Sora plays the Reapers' Game" game. Ever since Re:Mind, it's like KH3's secret movie was for that and only that, and Sora will just be sitting around The Final World, waiting to be rescued... ?

We even see Sora in the Melody of Memory trailer, but hopefully he's just an illusion.

I wonder what sort of gameplay a Sora's Reapers' Game would have. Would they integrate Pins?

Just incorporate Pins and Psychs with KH's game play. Possibly the Command deck. If you really want to to DDD Volume 2 have Noises be both the enemy group and allies

Maybe even if Sora is just sitting in the Final World, twiddling his thumbs, maybe even if they find him they can't bring him home because he has no power of waking anymore, maybe then a certain twink god provides a chance, in exchange for his help for something..

I have a good feeling that the remaining two blank slots are more traditional Kingdom Hearts games.

Anyone think we could possibly get a game explaining how Dilan and Aeleus lost their voices? For all we know those two could have had a grand offscreen adventure together that quietly saved the world between DDD and KH3 and the result is they sacrificed their voices to Ursula. It could be the biggest adventure the world never knew about.

So where do you guys see this series heading with Phase II? Can we expect MoM to be "Lux" and find him to be a long battle against "Darkness"? If so, would that make "Darkness" the main antagonist within Phase 2? I just hope they don't stretch it out with 'multiple/ alternate universes'.. I really don't like how over-used that formula is now.
