Kingdom Hearts III went gold in late November as development of the game has concluded. Since then, we have gotten our first look at the disc art and the art book cover that comes with the Deluxe Edition of the game. Amazon have also announced their own exclusive pre-order content for US and Canadian citizens only, that being the Dusk Till Dawn Keyblade skin.
Kingdom Hearts III is scheduled to launch on January 25th 2019 in Japan and January 29th 2019 everywhere else. A release date for the PlayStation 4 Pro that was revealed at E3 has not been set outside of Japan and Taiwan but hopefully news on it’s availability elsewhere will be announced soon.
With the final trailers for Kingdom Hearts III coming in less than a month, are you holding out hope for a final Disney world reveal or would you like to see some more original worlds announced?

Had they planned to show something at the game awards for example, we could probably speculate it could be something a bit popular that they would want to show to a big audience.
With them dropping trailers like this, it really could be anything.

ANYWAY, it's good that Nomura posted this after the whole Amazon situation. Honestly, I hope the Amazon situation doesn't linger on and people will quickly forget about it or leave it to silly memes.

Even if you don’t count the 100 Acre Wood for whatever reason, that’s still 7 worlds. 8 with the 100 Acre Woods.

If you don’t count the 100 Acre Woods then KH1 had 8 worlds which is sort of fitting for this finale. KH2 has been the only world with an excessive amount of worlds, but to reach that total people include the 100 Acre Woods and Atlantica, two mini-game worlds. If people claim KH2 has 12 worlds then they need to count the mini-game worlds in KH3, which brings us to 8 Disney worlds so far. Which is a fantastic amount for the scope they are going for with the worlds, including variety and unique assets.

There are 8 here and I think we will get one more in one of these trailers...
My only concern is if the game is like too short. But I doubt it... I think we are looking into a 40+ hours game.
To me it sounds only one disney world left, like on the 10th and final trailer will be story trailer with all disney worlds on it.
i'm ok with this since it means 9 disney worlds which is fair enough, i was only worried pooh is the last one.
So the trailer on Dec 18th is almost certainly the Jump Festa trailer. I wonder what the occasion is for December 10th? Then again, the dates are tentative so who knows. Either way, it's exciting to know that we are in the final stretch now. With Nomura himself saying "final trailer" coming in less than a month, that's crazy to think about. It'll be really fun once the final trailer is out to go back and watch every trailer from the E3 2013 reveal up until the last one and see how far it's come, thinking about where I was when each one was released.

When I count Disney Worlds, I include everything so yes I would count 100 Acre Wood. Maybe it's because it's assumed that will be a world within a world like it always has been and thus it doesn't count as a "world" because we don't travel to it by Gummi Ship. But that's dumb. Nobody argues that Tron is a world in KH2 and yet we don't travel to it by Gummi Ship either.

I know we've discussed the whole "3 sets of worlds" thing before, but did Nomura ever explicitly state that there would be 3 sets of worlds, and each of these "sets" were comprised of Disney worlds specifically? Or is it possible that worlds like Twilight Town and Radiant Garden count as worlds in each of these 3 sets?

Dont forget about Cable Town and the final world Nomura planned. That's where the final battle will be not the Keyblade Graveyard

I think that the game will have 13 worlds, 9 being Disney (including Winnie The Pooh) and 4 Original. 13 seems to be the number of this series, so I'd be very surprised if there's not 13 playable worlds. They might even surprise us and include 2 Disney worlds in the first trailer but I don't see that happening.

I second this. I think we have one more Disney world reveal left. With only two trailers remaining, I don't think both of them are going to be Disney world reveals. One of them will be, and the other will be a final big story trailer.

Looking back, maybe they should've paced themselves better with KH2 (even BbS and DDD). Less worlds mean bigger worlds and more opportunities to integrate them into the plot. It also leaves more Disney movies to explore in future titles. They really could have saved Mulan and cut out Agrabah in KH2 for example (maybe even Nightmare before Christmas but I know people love that world).

That's all fine and good, but do you happen to have a source for the quote/statement? I vaguely remember what you're talking about but it would be better if I were able to read Nomura's words exactly.
If i recall correctly, there were two different statements about the world count from interviews that were "more worlds than KH2" and "less Disney worlds than KH2". I don't really have the time right now to start digging around for those interviews, and I'm not sure if I'm right

They’re losing a whole month of trailer circulation for the cinema trailer in Japan to wait until the sequel releases there, so I think there’s something in one of the upcoming trailers that has some kind of connection to the film. At least by the 18th we’ll know Ralph’s certain fate.
On a final note, I can’t believe we’re here. The final trailer is in less than a month. I still expect there to be a launch trailer in January, but it will likely just be footage we’ve already seen cut differently, possibly with Face My Fears.

Radiant Garden has been the standard original world to visit for every console Kingdom Hearts game to date. It'd be such a shame for it to not be explorable.
You don't even need Sora to be the one exploring the world, I'd be fine traversing it with Riku and Kairi.

I'd guess they were working on worlds in order of convenience. Nomura did say at some point that they were making more progress on worlds they hadn't announced yet and vice versa.
Not just that, but it'd be baffling for Leon and the FF crew to not appear.
About that, people are saying that "Cloud and Sephiroth have to finish their battle in Kingdom Hearts III", and to that, I say no. Cloud and Sephiroth's disappearance felt conclusive to me, they're cameo characters, their arc doesn't have to have a black and white conclusion.
With that being said, Leon and Aerith coming back is definitely something that I can see, even if the value of their role has been reduced.
I hope everyone can practice being appreciative that we're somehow even at this point. We've spent almost 7 years waiting for this stupid thing. We're very fortunate that our lives are at least simple enough that we've been able to keep this on our collective radar.

So, I guess we're still in the same state as before. It's unclear. But, I feel there will only be one more Disney world. However, given that Square revealed Frozen and Pirates in the same day, it's not out of the question for both trailers to reveal a new world. The only reason I lean towards this not being the case is because any trailer that reveals a new world, that world tends to be the highlight of the trailer (with maybe the exception of Winnie the Pooh). So, I would imagine the "final" trailer would want to focus more on "we've shown you everything we have, get ready for the game" rather than "okay one more world reveal".

Nomura specifically referenced Disney Properties and in many interviews Nomura specifies Disney Worlds as ones being traveled to via gummi ship so that in and of itself eliminates 100 Acre Wood from this discussion as that is not a world traveled to on Gummi Ship.
I'm not saying it does not count towards the final game count it absolutely does but it does not count with Nomura's quote because it is not journeyed to via gummi ship.

So I mean that to me suggests the Disney Worlds that are part of the 3 that each team worked on are worlds traveled to via gummi ship, not a sub world in an original world which is 100 Acre Wood.
Like I said though on December 10th we'll know cause they already said when all the Disney Worlds are revealed they'll announce as such. If they don't reveal on Dec 10th that such and such is the last world then the final Disney World will be revealed in December 18th in the story trailer.

Nomura specifically referenced Disney Properties and in many interviews Nomura specifies Disney Worlds as ones being traveled to via gummi ship so that in and of itself eliminates 100 Acre Wood from this discussion as that is not a world traveled to on Gummi Ship.
I'm not saying it does not count towards the final game count it absolutely does but it does not count with Nomura's quote because it is not journeyed to via gummi ship.
The Gummi Ship is returning in Kingdom Hearts 3, which I think is interesting. I'm curious why you decided to bring it back? What you think it can add to Kingdom Hearts 3. Is it to tie it more into the previous games?

So I mean that to me suggests the Disney Worlds that are part of the 3 that each team worked on are worlds travelled to via gummi ship, not a sub world in an original world which is 100 Acre Wood.
Like I said though on December 10th we'll know cause they already said when all the Disney Worlds are revealed they'll announce as such. If they don't reveal on Dec 10th that such and such is the last world then the final Disney World will be revealed in December 18th in the story trailer.
Even so, that doesn't change the possibility of having only one more Disney world revealed as opposed to two. Original worlds will still have Gummi Ship segments dedicated to them.
I'm just gonna say that I'm expecting at most one more world so I can pleasently surprised when we get two, and slowly walk away...

I feel the original worlds being in the middle in between the beginning, middle and end sections. That's why I think there's 10 Disney Worlds and 4 Original Worlds.
Just my gut feeling, and a gut feeling is all this is. I feel there must be at least one more. If not two. I feel as if there would have been an announcement / update from Nomura if at least one, if not two worlds were not left to be announced. Again, gut feeling. I am happy with what we have right now. The game looks fantastic and the worlds seem to be fully fleshed out in detail. I love it. But I do feel as if we've got more coming.

He's never said in an interview there's one more left. What he has said is his favorite world has not yet been revealed.

I see us getting at least 1 last Disney world announcement in this. I feel Nomura would’ve come out and say they’ve shown all Disney worlds. Plus, I mean you never know, this trailer could just montage the last 2 Disney worlds (if there are 2 left) and be done with it. Wouldn’t surprise me.
On December 10th we will know. Nomura already said that when the final Disney world is revealed they will announce it, likely in the tweet connected to the trailer. So if it says that then case closed. But if it doesn't then it confirms that the 18th will have the final Disney world trailer and who knows maybe that's what the final means.
And a final story trailer and a new world reveal can happen in the same trailer.

Honestly, I don't think Demyx and Vexen are members. None of the hooded figures in The Keyblade Graveyard fit Demyx nor Vexen's body type. If Agrabah returns as a world, I could see there being two more Disney worlds. Cause you could toss that in without causing much of a fuss, and then have one more brand new world too. But I'm thinking there's only one more world reveal. I'd love to be wrong, obviously. Bring on the content! But if I had to guess, I think there's only one more left. Development plans can change, things can be scrapped. I won't take Nomura's statement about sections of the game as absolute law since that was back in February and who knows what all has happened behind the scenes since then, and he didn't even seem 100% solidified on what he was saying.

Like, who could have predicted that Ienzo would be directly working with Sora on multiple occasions? or that Aqua would turn dark? or that Marshmallow would be the party member in Arendelle? we should still expect the unexpected.

With the big first reveal with Toy Story at D23, and then another strong presence at E3 with Frozen & Pirates.. I really can't imagine there not being at least one more hype reveal.

These are all the "confirmed" KH3 Worlds. I split the original worlds into which worlds will be playable and which worlds aren't confirmed yet to be playable. I actually feel like Radiant Garden won't be playable this time neither Destiny Islands nor Land of Departure. I bet Cable Town will be playable tho and Radiant Garden also has a good chance imo.
I really really really reeeeaaally hope that we get two more Disney worlds. I can imagine the first trailer showing Disney World #1 + footage from Radiant Garden and/or Keyblade Graveyard. Then the final trailer will introduce Disney world #2 + footage from Cable Town and the Final World but like not too much considering they will be the final worlds.
I don't wanna start making theories tho lmao. But I consider the "Final" Trailer just to be the final world-reveal trailer. I'm pretty sure we'll get story trailer, the intro and things like that in January... not yet.

Launchpad has a point about world size. Olympus at the very least seems to be many times the size of most KH1 and 2 worlds. Even assuming we get 1 more Disney world, based on what we've seen the environments should blow the other games out of the water.
It seems like this “one or two worlds†discussion will be the most memorable part of our pre KH3 experience as nearly everyone is hoping for 2 new worlds but we haven’t got any information if we receive a new world at all.:biggrin:

Yes that's exactly what it is, I think. I believe Square have always dropped Jump Festa trailers just prior to the event itself, and then during the event they have a ton of interviews and sometimes images are released, but the actual trailer is usually released prior to the event.

Yeah, this is the real truth. As much as everyone loves KH2, its environments sucked. And yeah, there were a handful in KH1 that were clearly less effort than some of the others.
These are the kinda things that make me want some of those older Disney films to be featured in a scope like this, someday at least. I really am mixed about whether I want the final world to be returning (Agrabah, probably) or something new. We do already have a ton of new, so its not like we are left wanting for that. But the final reveal should have a little "oomph" imo. Like a surprise. Though, aside from Monsters Inc, Pirates was probably one of the biggest surprises for this game to me lol. So they could do both.

The Princess and the Frog is honestly the safest bet of the next Disney world to be revealed because it has so much going for it. But I fear that's what it has going against it, it's too predictable.

You don't travel to Space Paranoids or Timeless River through Gummi Ships but they were treated like regular Disney worlds. Square Enix is going with a quality over quantity approach, so your analogy only has so much going for it.
I'm not saying that there won't be two more Disney worlds left, it's just that the schedule is making the likeliness be one more Disney world because the second trailer in December is titled as "Final Trailer".
And with the word final being used to describe the second December trailer, I highly doubt that there will be any trailers for January showing new footage.

Just because the 18th is the final trailer doesn’t mean it needs to be solely dedicated to story and/or recap everything we’ve seen so far. I’m almost certain there will still be a proper launch trailer that does the latter in January using old footage. This is probably just the final “reveals†trailer on the 18th. The Jump Festa trailer for DDD was like 9 minutes long, so there’s a lot of ground they could cover in a similar length trailer.
But again, I’m just speculating it as a possibility. Not even close to a guarantee.

Sigh... there's a huge difference between those two worlds you listed and 100 Acre Wood. And Timeless River is sub world of Disney Castle. Tron is a full world inside a computer.

Plus, we haven’t seen Xion yet and she’d be the perfect Seeker for the world since she shares some similarities with Vanellope, how everyone connected to them forgot who they were, they were seen as flaws, and the truths of their existences were kept from them.

Also they already included the biggest modern Disney movies in KH: Frozen, Tangled an BH6. The only other ones, that are missing, are Wreck-it-Ralph and Zootopia. I'm not sure if Moana is one of the big new IPs from Disney.

Yeah, I think there’s a solid chance we’ll at least know what the UX world isn’t thanks to these last two trailers. As long as all the summons are shown, we should be able to figure it out by then as well unless there are multiple summons in KH3 with worlds that aren’t in 3 and have never been in the series.

That's probably not from people being bad, but rather Amazon being pissed for not being able to show the trailer. In any case, I'm sure Nomura will have lots to say in December / January as they promote the game; so we can just be patient and see what's to come.

Isn't just about not being able to wait, it is too for the fun of making something move. I'm kinda tired of people teorizing and teorizing in circles, it is two? it is one? it is none? Than arguments are repetitive. If we can do something about that, in a good and healthy way, even if he doesn't say nothing it can make the time pass faster, and we may accomplish something.

Back in the day the worlds were first revealed in magazines but yes The Lion King game footage premiere at Jump Festa which is hilarious cause the game was literally released a week later.
I take the word "final" to mean final Disney World trailer personally. It can also be fused with a big story trailer. Also let us not forget that there's gonna be tons of ads in January.
The game is not gonna have one final trailer in December and then absolutely nothing till it comes out. No way would that ever happen.

From what trailers I can find for DDD, Symphony of Sorcery and the Grid were first shown in trailer form on February 12th, 2012, and the game released March 29th. So it isn’t unprecedented for us to get our first footage of two Disney worlds about a month and a half before release. This is also a ten minute trailer, so we could see a similar length trailer on the 18th.

Full disclosure: we knew those worlds would be in a month or two before then, but that was the first footage. Also, the KH3 worlds have been kept much closer to the chest until they can be shown other than San Fransokyo. So I could still see two being shown even though we don’t about them like we did these.

I need to say this and hopefully you take this into consideration. Suppose we get no new worlds via trailers in December. It does not mean anything. You might play the game and find 1 or 2 worlds you had NO IDEA were going to be in the game.
Long ago Nomura stated something that translated to "I want to spoil all worlds by KH3 release". Yes, he did say this, however keep in mind that this answer was coupled with a question about how fans are concerned there wont be any surprises... Because of this, just being asked that question and realizing, Nomura could have changed his mind. Just because he once told us that this was his plan, does not mean it is still his plan. Also, in an interview more recently then that one, he came out and said that there would be many surprises still waiting for us in the game. Is it really so hard to imagine that MAYBE we will have a Disney world that is left a secret? Especially if it is one that isn't super big and popular to the public, one that would be more fitting for a private reveal rather than a public reveal... Even Princess and the Frog feels like a world more suited for this type of reveal.
Just keep in mind that a surprise world in game ISNT out of the question just because of something Nomura said once, that one time, that one day... And never stated again.

But there's one other thing: On the Tweet that announces the trailers plan, the "final trailer" is not listed as "æœ€çµ‚æ˜ åƒ" (last trailer), but as "ファイナル", as in, the English word for "final", like in the Final Fantasy franchise name. That gives credence to the possibility of it being a FF characters trailer, perhaps revealing the Radiant Garden Restoration Committee, the Gullwings, maybe Seifer's gang or Sephiroth, and whatever new FF character they'll throw at us (Rinoa? Vincent Valentine?).
Maybe even Selhpie, Tidus, and Wakka will be shown, since it's very likely Destiny Islands will be playable, as Sora gets the Master's Defender there (and I'm sure lots of fans have wanted for a long time a game where you can play on the REAL, not CO floor, not Datascape, Destiny Islands and being free to return at any time). Like, in KH2 Sora, Donald, and Goofy never go to Destiny Islands, so if they are going this time, it HAS to be playable, and I hope it's not one of those places Nomura said we'll only be able to go once.

Others translations are implying the "FINAL" is nor last trailer nether "final fantasy" trailer, but instead the final version of the first trailer (released on 10th). We might be receving something like TGS, a short followed by a longer, complete, version of a trailer. What makes sense since companies are used to releasing a launch trailer a week before the release.

Not to be rude, but the back box arts for KH2 and KH3 don't look "exactly the same".
KH3's back box art is using already released renders and screenshots we already saw, while KH2's is more in line with KH1's, as in using a nice picture of a CGI Sora with multiple screenshots off to the side showing off either cutscene or gameplay with little descriptions of the game underneath

It is odd that Nomura would wait until near the very end to reveal FF characters. Unless he is saving Radiant Garden for the final trailer it makes me think we could see some FF characters in the final world

Sure, two more would be nice, and depending on what choice out of the "likely" options they go with the lineup will end up feeling either more or less interesting, but I'm ready to swallow that bitter pill and start cementing an idea of the game's bigger picture.

I think we're getting the opening movie and song in January about ten days before the game launches outside of JP.
I'd like to add that if you watch the opening movie before the game comes out, you have no patience and will be cursed to remain in your body long after you die.

I think it's just that 0.2 seemed to set some sort of precedent for the future. I personally don't want it to, but I wouldn't be surprised. If they are willing to take an opening out of a 2 hour demo, they sure as hell would do it for III.

That's the thing though. 0.2 was a 2 hour demo, and 2.8 as a whole didn't have much to offer in terms of marketing material so they could afford to show the entire opening before the game releases. KH3 isn't in the same boat.

According to the official KH's twitter of Nomura's statement, the trailer on the 18th is the final trailer of 2018, not necessarily the final trailer they will release before the game launches. So, I expect there's still going to be a launch trailer, or maybe they'll show the opening or something. Either way, sounds like there's still going to be something in January as well, which I assumed would be the case. However, this does raise questions about the confirmed trailers for the 10th and 18th. Perhaps they are both Disney world reveals after all? In the tweet though, the one on the 10th is referred to as "new footage" so maybe it's not a full trailer? I'm not totally sure.

I'm hopeful we'll see quite a bit since there was a significant delay between when the cinema trailer released for the west and when it'll begin screening in Japan. There's gotta be something they've been saving that Japanese fans especially would get really excited for.

Exactly well i know everyone doesn't want Longer Trailers i mean remember the Two Dream Drop Distance Trailers (One before 2012 at Jump Festa and we've gotten a Special Trailer in February 2012 those gave us a Lot of Spoilers) i don't mind if we get a 8 Minute Trailer (Similar to the Two Dream Drop Distance Trailers in 2011/2012) and maybe giving the Last Two Disney Worlds before the Release just as long as we don't get too spoiled

The Radiant Garden crew is really all we care about. I would not mind in the slightest if we don’t see Seifer and his gang.

I feel like they would have told us if 100 Acre Wood was the last Disney world. But I think it's just going to be one more Disney World instead of 2. A little disappointed too but who knows maybe they'll surprise us.

So I think an interesting thing to be discussed is will they still show every Disney world before release. We’re basing that assumption on a quote from Nomura that is a couple years old now. I understand the large marketing issue of single Disney worlds can sell a game, but what if it was an obscure world Disney evaluated wouldn’t affect game sales. I think it needs to be taken into account that the marketing strategy is to show and discuss as little of the game as possible. Examples:
- They released a out of order and sync clip version of the opening movie when in the past they always release the opening beforehand.
- They don’t show final bosses of any worlds intentionally. There was a quote on that.
- There is essentially zero interviews and press on the game outside of the trailers. This is a big one. Nomura had interviews at e3 but that was it.
- We haven’t seen anything of original worlds outside of twilight town.
I think the marketing for this game is interesting in that they’re really protecting the story which I appreciate. Anyone that is complaining that we’ve seen too much should be grateful when in the past the marketing for these games spoil the whole story. The only thing I wish there was more of us interviews about development. I would much rather no more trailers at this point and just a ton of interviews with Nomura and developers digging into their head about what the last five years have been like for them.
Even if the last Disney world(s?) was obscure compared to the others I can't imagine it staying a secret unless it had major spoilers. And even then I think they would still show it before release assuming Nomura intends to show the final world.

Kinda doubt we'll get to see another Disney world next month and the last remaining original worlds are probably cable town and final world amd I think we won't get to see much of them anyways kinda like the Keyblade Graveyard.
I also hope the second playable character remains a secret even tho I feel like it will definitely be a throwback to young Xehanort. The opening movie made that really obvious imo.

I see where you're coming from at face value, but 100 Acre Wood is the designated minigame world. 100 Acre Wood is not an expansive Disney world, so it wouldn't have eliminated any other contenders. If anything, 100 Acre Wood's return literally gives the other Disney worlds more space.
...and there's so much material to pull from. I was initially under the assumption that they would be using the 2011 movie, but Square Enix seems to be using DisneyToon Studios material as inspiration this time around. That's clever use of the source material.

I hate to be like this, but I honestly somewhat agree. If there’s no other worlds left, I’ll get over it, but my hype will be dampened some.
Honestly, the game being in development for 5 years, and with the largest Square team working on the game, with 3 worlds in 3 sections, I’ll be severely disappointed if it’s just the 8 we have now. It doesn’t strike much logic to me, feels like it should be 10 Disney still. But we’ll most likely know in a week.

I can totally see this happening, too. Words won't express how disappointing WIR being the only world left will be.
I do agree that WIR is too big of a present IP to get the Bambi, Dumbo, and Chicken Little treatment (no world, just a summon). At least I hope so.

If 100 Acre Wood was the last Disney World revealed it would have been promoted in the trailer and announced at the X-Box event as such. It was not in any way shape or form so there's obviously still more. Cause a new Disney World reveal is a guaranteed headline especially the last one.

The two things are two completely different things. Literally two completely different things. We won't be kept in the dark when it comes to the Disney Worlds. They'll announce when the last Disney World has been announced cause it will be promoted as such.
