Miyu Irino, the voice of Sora, made his first appearance in an international convention appearance at Anime Expo 2017. Fans were treated to a panel where he discussed his career in entertainment, as well as an autograph signing.
Miyu talked about how he got his start in theatre at the age of 4. These days he is most well known for his voice acting roles, but at that time he was mostly active in theatre and TV commercials. Where his voice acting career began was with a starring role as Haku in Spirited Away. Participating in that huge film gave him the opportunity to work with many notable individuals in the industry and helped him get where he is today.
When Miyu was in primary and junior high school, he'd play lots of different types of video games, such as Final Fantasy, Mario, action games, RPGS, etc. He'd play up to 8-12 hours a day during the summer. But just recently, he's purchased a PS4 and is currently playing through Kingdom Hearts 2.8.
He's been involved with the Kingdom Hearts series for 15 years now, and being able to develop Sora for such a long period of time is a very special experience. He'd like to continue being involved with the series and see where it goes.
